Great book. I enjoyed Reading it. The characters and plot were interesting life like and easy to connect with.

Oh my word this book. From the meet/cute via way of a panic attack at the local Piggly Wiggly to the real but not preachy talk regarding mental health to the Bingo bet to the characters to the chemistry between Aja and Walker – Spicy.

This was wonderful! I appreciated the thoughtful representation of anxiety/panic attacks and how thoughtful the love story was.

Thank you to NetGalley and SMP for my gifted copy - all thoughts are my own!

Such a cute rom-com! My first from Jodie Slaughter and it did not disappoint! The chemistry between Walker and Aja was definitely there, but also there was a fair amount of time and attention spent on the emotional aspect and their backgrounds that helped further their connection and ours to them! I think Jodie did an excellent job with the emotions overall - especially with the concept of the characters' anxiety, which was handled delicately. Not only did we get emotions, but we certainly got some spice as well! The steamy little scenes between Walker and Aja definitely added to the fun, sexy side of the story.

Overall a well-balanced and fun contemporary romance, and certainly will not be my last from Jodie!

Cute story. Quick read. Once I started, I was excited to learn more about the characters and follow their development. Perfect for a day at the beach!

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

I thought this book was a super cute and realistic portrayal of navigating mental illness while forming a romantic relationship.

I found the characters to be really understandable and relatable. My one critique is that at times there seemed to be a disconnect between Aja being a prim and proper lady and then being absolutely raunchy in the next chapter, and that was hard to rectify as one character

The writing style was very engaging and kept me entertained throughout.

I really wanted to love this one, but I just felt that it fell flat. This is not to say that I didn't absolutely LOVE the representation of anxiety and the disorders that the characters had because I thought those were perfectly depicted. There were just some bits that didn't mesh with me, but overall a fun and cute read.

This was a sweet story, but as a romance it's world of bingo and anxiety and Piggly Wiggly didn't transport me to a romantic fantasy I could immerse myself in.

I love small town romances where the atmosphere is a character that draws you in. This one is definitely one of those. I appreciated the body positivity in this one—it can be tiring to read romances where every MC feels like a main stream cookie cutter person. The steam factor is definitely there for those who appreciate chemistry and hot stuff! Looking forward to reading the next one!

This book is very cute and I appreciated some of the more serious themes as well as the sweet romance.

Sweet and spicy. Loved the small town vibe, fat female main character, and grandma hobbies. (As a grandma hobby enthusiast, I felt seen.)

I tried to give this book a chance. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and their relationship. I know this book will be enjoyed by other readers. I will not be sharing this review on my pages.

This was a sweet small town romance read with mental health rep. The relationship between the two main characters was sweet but felt rushed. It had good steam and humor.

Bet On It was a delightful love story between two people that were just meant to be in my opinion.

The story was relatable as well, I could see a lot of myself in both main characters. The plus size and anxiety representation especially was really well done.

Overall it was a heartwarming beautiful story and I really enjoyed it. It’s made me want to read more from the author for sure!

Oh my goodness, I loved this book! Aja Owens moves to Greenbelt, South Carolina to escape. When she is grocery shopping one night, she receives assistance from a handsome stranger while having a panic attack. So begins a beautiful relationship between Aja and Walker Abbott - a Greenbelt native. There was so much depth to Aja and Walker. The anxiety representation felt incredibly relatable and was one of my favorite aspects of the book. The depiction of Aja and Walker's dual mental health journeys was something I saw my own experience mirrored in. The chemistry between the couple develops in a palpable way and I couldn't help but giggle and kick my feet at the steamy scenes.

Thank you to St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC!

Didn't see that steam coming, but I'm here for it!

Characters that were open with how they were feeling, and the author jumped right in. I really enjoyed this. Solid romance I'll be thinking about for a long time!

If you're looking for a heartwarming contemporary romance with great mental health rep and growth between two sweet characters with a friends-with-benefits-to-lovers trope, then Bet on It is for you!

I put this book off for way too long, but I'm so glad I finally read it! From the first chapter, Aja and Walker had me captivated, and I wanted to learn everything about them. They fit so seamlessly together, and their struggles with mental health gave them an even deeper space to connect with and relate to someone else. Romances that include POVs from both main characters are my favorite, so I'm happy that we got to follow both Aja and Walker as they navigated their feelings and their pasts. The side characters were also fun, and the spice was spicing! Third-act breakups are never my favorite, but I am so happy that Aja and Walker got the happy ending they deserved.

CW for anxiety disorder, PTSD, sexual content, parental abandonment, discussions on addiction.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and St. Martin's for the ARC of Bet on It by Jodie Slaughter.
