This book starts with Liv waking up in a taxi with no memory and the words stay awake written on her. This starts her onto a path to try to remember the last two years.
It took me a while to get into the story but once I did it was so good. It was full of action and o enjoyed discovering her past along with her.

If you are a fan of psychological thrillers then this might be up your alley!

Thank you go Netgalley for arc of this book in return for an honest review

While this book was good, it was VERY predictable. I love thriller/mystery books that keep me guessing. This one did not. I was able to correctly guess several of the big things that happened in this book from about 25% of the way through. Including what really happened.

This book has an interesting plot. I was looking forward to the read when I requested on NetGalley. Many things just didn't work for me. My rating is more like 2.5 rounded up to 3. The words "Stay Awake" were just used way too often and I grew tired of it long before the book was finished. The main character, Liv, drove me crazy and I almost DNF'd several times. I see from reviews of fellows on GR that the book is loved by a number of people, but, also has a number of reviews where it was not.

I had a hard time making myself finish it. Didn't like any characters and all are unreliable. Many thanks to the Publisher and NetGalley for a digital copy to review. All opinions are my own.

This book drew me in right away! - I read it in one sitting because I just HAD to know how it was going to end.
I loved the concept, I'm a sucker for a dual timeline and an outrageous story line. So I enjoyed it!
Some things did feel a little repetitive which I didn't love but I do see how it could kind of add to the atmosphere of Liz's situation.

3.5-4.0

I found the short chapters easy to fly through, but the time jumps were sometimes a little jarring. Parts did get repetitive but I understand that was intentional given the main characters condition. I wish that the motive ended up explained more as well since I feel like that was sorta glossed over. I did love her other books so I will definitely be reading her next book!!

I thoroughly loved this book. It was clever and kept me so engaged, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. This was an excellent thriller.

I found this SOOOO hard to get into, like, fell asleep every couple words the first time I tried to read it. And in some ways that’s amazing given the character’s sleep-related issues. Anyway, I came back to it on audio ages later and ended up really loving it!

One of the most gripping psychological thrillers I've ever read is this one. Although I dislike the unreliable narrator cliche, there are some situations in which it works incredibly well, and this is one of those situations. In that sense, it was quite similar to "The Flight Attendant" and the start of "The Night of."

and I ADORERED learning about LIV's memories alongside her. I started to get as fixated as she did. I am aware that the entire scenario is wildly improbable, yet it fosters a tense and suspicious environment that is ideal for mystery/thrillers. I love this kind of suspense, and this story has just the right amount of it.

This book is really captivating and informative, and it's absolutely my read

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am a habitual reader of Megan Goldin, so I had to grab this one ASAP. This book is no different in terms of entertainment, she always does the damn thing. An enjoyable read start to finish.

STAY AWAKE is a solid thriller. Goldin never disappoints when it comes to building the tension and developing her characters. However, I feel like this is something I have read before. Normally, I love the way the author takes her unique spin on things, but this one just didn't shine as much as her previous books for me. It is still a bingeable read and I completely enjoyed it. I guess THE ESCAPE ROOM still is my favorite.

I thought that the premise of the book was really interesting. Liv awakens in a taxi with writing on her arms that urges her to trust no one and to stay awake. She is left with no recollection of her current life just these cryptic messages. I think that her character had many faults, but I would say that the most frustrating was her avoidance of help

Nevertheless, I feel like the story did come together well in the end. As for the crucial mystery and twist, it was great. While i wasn't completely shocked, it was enjoyable enough to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion.

I will read absolutely anything Megan Goldin writes! I loved this book! There was such a unique plot to this story and the twists and turns were endless. I loved the added layer of suspense and doubt created from having a character with a memory disorder. This book was incredibly hard to put down, and had short chapters that alternated perspectives between characters.

I always love a good thriller from Megan Goldin, and Stay Awake is no exception. Full of twists and suspense, this thriller was one I cannot put down. It drew me in and kept me wanting to finish to find out what happened and what's next. I highly recommend this book for the Thriller lover.

What I liked: The short chapters were awesome, and the book hooked me right from the start. It's fast-paced and has multiple POVs. The detective's POV was my favorite.

What I didn't like: The ending didn't wrap up everything for me, and I was left with too many questions. Also, there weren't many suspects, so it was too easy to figure out the bad guy. I wasn't a fan of the timeline of events either. It would jump around from two years ago to 24 hours to the present day, and I had to pay close attention, or else I got lost.

This is my second Megan Goldin book, and I actually preferred Night Swim over this one. I have one more of hers on my bookshelf, and I'm curious to see where it ranks for me.

I really enjoyed The Escape Room so I was excited for this one! Stay Awake was a whirlwind! I love unreliable narrators and I was really rooting for this one! I thought this was a great page turner and the twists were decently surprising for someone who reads a lot of this genre. I do think it was a little long, but that's really my only complaint. I will be reading Megan's other books.

This books plot is twistier than a mountain road and I highly recommend it! It is a page turner from the very beginning, so crack open pages and get lost in the words! Thanks for writing such a great book!

This book was not so great for me. I found the story to be quite choppy and a little annoying. I just wasn’t a fan of this one!

This was an edge-of-your-seat thriller that had so many twists and turns that I never expected. I enjoyed this more than The Night Swim and I will definitely check out more from Megan!

I had the good fortune of acquiring an early copy of "Stay Awake" by Megan Goldin, courtesy of NetGalley and St. Martin's Publishing. The book takes readers on an intense and thrilling ride, with Liv Reese waking up in a taxi in an unfamiliar location, with a bloodstained knife in her possession. To add to her woes, her apartment is now occupied by someone else, and she's a prime murder suspect. Liv's unique form of amnesia, which erases her memory while asleep, complicates matters further, especially since someone seems determined to ensure she doesn't remember.
Megan Goldin's storytelling prowess is on full display, as the narrative alternates between Liv's present situation and her past leading up to the traumatic event that resulted in her memory loss. The book features a cast of dubious characters that will keep readers guessing until the very end. Brace yourself for an exhilarating journey! You'll be guessing who's behind the madness until the very last page. Get ready for a wild ride!
