A trope that I loved was sidelined by too many plots! It took quite a while to finish this as some storylines were outright boring or not needed. I haven’t read this author’s other book but I am willing to check it out. I didn’t dislike this but I can’t love it either.

Two characters who fall for each other, break up and reconnect nine years later. A nice enough story, but no dramatics or twists but will keep you reading to see what happens next.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Nearly ten years ago, Molly locked eyes with Jake, a budding rockstar, and neither was able to look away. They fell into an all-consuming love, with her becoming his muse.

Now, Molly is happily married (to a different man) with a daughter, when a new friend comes into her life. However, not is all as it seems with this friend. Molly’s past may be catching up with her.

I am 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 reeling from this one! I read it in two days, staying up late into the night. I just couldn’t put it down. I loved the different points of view, as well as the flashbacks to the relationship of Molly and Jake. The storyline pulled me in, the characters kept a hold of me. I needed to know what happened between Jake and Molly! Definitely recommend💕

Favorite line ~ “…It’s more than chemistry. It’s unbearable, heartbreaking nostalgia.”

Some people have a little bit of crazy in their past. In their youth. But what if crazy comes to find you? This was a gripping story that was hard to put down.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Carola Lovering has done it again with her latest novel, "Can't Look Away". I didn't want to stop reading this fast-pasted novel.

I loved both of Carola's other books, Tell Me Lies and Too Good to Be True, and with Can't Look Away, she continues to show that she is an auto-read author for me. For me, this book was really hard to put down, and I do think it is misclassified with the genre. While there are mysteries throughout the book and some twists, it isn't a thriller, and it definitely helps to know that going in. I would classify it more as a mix of domestic and contemporary fiction.

Throughout the book, you get the perspective of Molly, Jake, and Sabrina over the course of ten years, and how their lives all intersect. You learn right away that Sabrina has been stalking Molly for a number of years and has followed her and her family to Connecticut. As you start to piece together why, even with the twists that you could see coming, I was still pleasantly surprised when they happened. As you are given the answers to some secrets, you also know that more are coming, and everything is not as it seems.

There are some heartbreaking moments as well throughout the book. Molly and Jake's relationship at times is tumultuous, and you can feel Molly's pain as Jake ignores her as his band starts to make it big, or he makes everything about him. But, you can also see how much love there is between them. I really loved Hunter and the things he did for Molly, and if there was one thing I wish was different in the book it would've been that we got a chapter from his perspective. There is some really great character growth throughout the book for most characters, and I truly think in the end, everyone got the future they deserved.

I think going into this book it’s important to know this reads more as suspense than thriller. If you read it as a thriller you’ll probably be disappointed, but if you read it as romantic suspense you’ll really enjoy it. I loved the character development, romance, and unexpected plot development. Would absolutely recommend!

This book held my interest, but the plot twists near the end threw me for a loop! Character development was strong and I appreciated the attention to detail

Can't Look Away by Carola Lovering is a suspense filled romance. Interesting characters and told from different POVs.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley.

A sexy suspense novel? Hmmm marketing gone wrong yet again.

I’m a big fan of Lovering so I dove in blind but that cover and the synopsis gave me thriller vibes. A thriller this is not. I say this was a dramatic romance story. It definitely gave me COHO vibes which I think a lot of readers will enjoy. I will say that the development of the characters does not disappoint. The author has a knack for this. I found this an enjoyable read but my least favorite of the authors to date.

Thank you to @stmartin'spress and @netgalley for allowing me to read Can't Look Away by Carola Lovering.

While this one is branded a mystery/thriller......please don't expect that from this one. There are elements of mystery and it is suspenseful ( I had a hard time putting this one dow), but I it's not your typical mystery/thriller.

I enjoyed this one a lot! It's a love story with suspense intertwined.. We have have Molly and Jake who found love together when they were younger and have never lost that love. We also have an ex girlfriend who is a stalker. As Molly and Jake navigate into adulthood, will their love stand the test of time. And if it does, at what cost? If not, what will happen to the both of them?

I really don't want to get too much more into this story because part of the suspense is the unfolding of what happens in this one.

Can't Look Away releases on June 14, 2022 and you should mark your calendars! You're not going to want to miss it!

I don’t quite understand why this book was marketed as a thriller, as it is definitely more of a domestic drama to me. I enjoyed the character of Molly, and thought she was very relatable. Being in my 40s, reading about problems in someone’s life that’s not even 30 yet, kind of made me roll my eyes at times. But I did enjoy Lovering’s Writing. I give this three stars. And only because it wasn’t a thriller to me and just kind of a little mundane and predictable.

Brief Synopsis: Molly and Jake had an immediate connection. Jake was the singer in a band and saw Molly in the crowd while singing and felt instantly drawn to her. They start dating and Molly as a writer and Jake as a singer/songwriter became each other’s muses. Inspiring each other. They have a powerful intense love but Jake is on the road so much with his band their relationship struggles. Decades later Molly is living with her husband Hunter and her daughter in a suburb outside of NY where Hunter grew up. She meets a new friend Sabrina and it turns out she is married to Jake and has her own reasons for moving to the suburbs and befriending Molly…

My thoughts:
- This book is full of so many secrets, lies and obsessions right from the start that really keep you captivated throughout
-Jake and Hunter… the two men in Molly’s life that both steal your heart for different reasons.
-The whole time I read this book I could definitely see it as a tv series! So much drama! I really hope it is made into a movie or tv show.

-Overall if you love obsessive stocker thrillers full of drama, secrets, lies and love you will love this book!

So happy with this one which kept me turning pages. Its sexy and taught writing. This suspense novel deals with love and addiction in a smart propulsive way. Molly meets Jake and they fall in love. Fast. But she gives up her dreams of writing and settles down (not with Jake), marries, has a kid and is deeply unhappy and out of sorts when she meets a new friend, Sabrina. Sabrina has secrets. What happens next, forces Molly to confront her past - aka Jake and her dreams. So much obsession in this one, i couldn't put it down. A great binge.

This is a quick moving thriller!
Back in 2013, Molly was working at coffee house in NY and dreaming of writing a novel. By chance she meets and falls in love with the lead singer of an up and coming band. It's a whirlwind romance and Jake and Molly fall in love.

Almost 10 years later Molly is living with her husband and child in a small town in Connecticut when a new friend turns up who happens to know a bit too much about Molly - where she works, where she relaxes. Who is Sabrina, and is she friend or foe?
If you like the domestic thriller genre, wonder about lost loves and are nostalgic for the aughts, then #CantLookAway is for you!

It's been awhile since I've read a good contemporary romance that put my heart through the wringer, but this certainly did that. From the synopsis of this book and the way it was categorized, I thought this would be thriller, or suspense...but it was neither. For my angst loving friends, this story has that in spades!! There is a love triangle of sorts, but not really. A woman scorned and with an agenda. A bit of mystery and a lot of heartache. I needed this one!!!

This was an entertaining 4 star read for me, though it is more dark domestic fiction than mystery/thriller. Told from alternating points of views of 3 characters across a span of several years, this is a tale of obsession and the one that got away. There are a few twists in the story and one I for sure did not see coming! Each chapter slowly built to a climax that was crazy, soapy fun! Looking forward to reading more from this author!

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This is my second novel from the author and I enjoyed her previous book Too Good To Be True last year. I was very happy to know that she was coming out with a new domestic suspense mystery this year and was ecstatic to receive an ARC of it! I can't truly say what genre this book falls under, but it has mystery, suspense and a love story all rolled into one.

Thank you to the author Carola Lovering, Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for this advance reader's copy in exchange for an honestreview!

Molly is an aspiring writer who one night at a concert, locks eyes with the band's vocalist Jake. They instantly fall in love. After 10 years, Molly is now living in a posh
suburbia but is married to someone else. She bumps into Sabrina who is new to town and forms a new found friendship with her. As they go deeper into each other's lives, they unravel secrets and mysteries that has long been buried in the past.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. I really enjoyed this one that had me turning the pages and race to the end for answers. I questioned a lot of things in the beginning as to why
things happened. The mystery of Molly and Jake's relationship and how the other characters were also interwoven in each of their paths, made me wanna find answers ASAP! Although I was able to piece things
together, I did find some things very convenient. Towards the end it became very dramatic. I did enjoy the things that led up to it though. The characters were very well developed and found myself empathizing with each of them. Read this if you enjoyed Too Good To Be True or if you're a fan of domestic suspense and drama. This book also reminded me of the show and book You!

Woah! What a ride this book was! I went into totally blind. I didn’t read the synopsis or know much about the book. After seeing so many great reviews on bookstagram I just picked it up. I will admit I went into this book thinking it was a thriller…little did I know it was more of a romantic suspense. Nonetheless it was really good! There were so many good twist that I didn’t see coming! How the heck did this author put this puzzle together!

The biggest surprise for me was finding out Stella was Jakes kid. I really didn’t see that coming! Throughout this whole story you find yourself liking and disliking certain characters at certain points. I loved that the author made me question every character and their motives!

I wish the ending would have had a little more about Molly and Hunter. I’m glad we got a good ending with Sabrina but also wish we didn’t because I couldn’t stand her!

Overall this was a great fast paced read! I highly recommend.
