When 600 prisoners are freed, the hunt is on. Everyone scrambles to recapture them all. But the prisoners all have their own, unique agendas.

I listened to the audiobook. While the narrators were fine, I don't think the book translated as well to audio as most do. This is a complex story told through many POVs. (like more than a dozen) While that keeps it interesting, it also makes it difficult to follow along with in an audiobook. Two narrators are used- one for all of the male characters and one for all of the female characters. Anyway, I felt lost sometimes. Especially when in the POV of a minor character.

It is a good book- well paced and complex. I just think it is probably easier to follow in print.

I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. Engrossing plot and characters. The audiobook is equivalent to a page turner in that I listened to the whole book very quickly.

Candice Fox's 'The Chase' is a high velocity character driven action thriller which kept me on the edge-of-my-seat from the first word through the very last.

When more than 600 of the universe's most horrendous people are let out of Pronghorn's Correctional facility (located in the Nevada desert), Death Row Supervisor Claire Osbourne not only feels responsible for allowing the escape to happen, she has her radar squarely set on catching one inmate in particular. His name is John Kradle, and Claire will go to any length to secure his capture - above all the others - because catching him is very personal. . . .

What makes this novel extraordinarily exciting and unique for me is how unusual it is to be rooting for both the cat (Claire Osbourne) and the mouse (John Kradle), as they are both (in their own ways) protagonists.

The conclusion is highly satisfying and leaves much for the listener to ponder about our flawed justice system, and is perfect for some lively discussions at book clubs, etcetera.

Narrators Lisa Negrón and David de Vries are a fantastic vocal team for the intense action as they vividly brought Ms. Fox's writing to life in my imagination, and easily kept my attention hyper-focused for the duration. These two make a mighty duo and I highly recommend this for a super-charged listen.

With much appreciation to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the free audiobook download in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. #NetGalley #Macmillan Audio #TheChase

It’s a nightmare hard to fathom. 650 violent offenders have been released into the Nevada desert from the Pronghorn Correctional Facility. Now, law enforcement has to round them up before they can leave a swathe of violence, blood and death. One man sees this as his last chance to prove his innocence. In jail for 26 years after being convicted of the murder of his wife and child, John Kradle needs time to prove he was unjustly convicted. But that means keeping ahead of the army of law enforcement officials looking for him; and he hasn’t counted on bounty hunter Celine Osbourne, the woman who has a very personal stake in seeing Cradle back behind bars
