4 1/2 Stars for this laugh-out-loud romance!

At first, I didn't like Hunter, he was a real womanizer and very arrogant. But as the book went and his childhood was explained ... I kinda felt sorry for him. And then Sailor ... even though she came from a rough, tough, boisterous family (who everyone thought had ties to the mob), she was an introvert who focused on one thing ... going to the Olympics for archery. This book made me laugh, cry and everything in between. Then there were intimate scenes ... they almost started the book on fire! This is a cute fun romance that shouldn't be missed.

This is my first Lj shen and I’ve heard such good things that I had to pick it up. It did not disappoint! If you haven’t read anything by them before you have to! Run don’t walk

Thank you so much Net galley for an advanced copy of this book. The following g opinions are my own. I really enjoyed this book. I have read several LJ Shen books and they are always fun. This one has some good heat, and a good story. I like that our heroine Sailor is not the typical drop dead gorgeous lead. She grew on Hunter. The only thing I did not find realistic is that these 2 characters are supposedly 19 years old. If the book had not said that they were 19, I would think they were in their late 20's or early 30's. I do not know any 19 year old that talks the way these 2 do. I would definitely recommend it to my friends though

I was so disappointed with this book, I am an LJ fan, and tend to like her bullies and jerks who end up redeeming themselves, however I don't feel like Hunter did that. He was a jerk, and remained that way. Not only that but to be honest I was kind of disgusted with a lot of passages in this book, there were things that I didn't feel I needed to read, I get that we needed to know that Hunter was t biggest of the biggest Man-ho's out there, I mean this guy beat out Dean! and that is saying something. But he was not only disgusting, he was callous in my mind. Then when he was having a relationship with Sailor he didn't seem all into it like she was, his thoughts were not conducive to hers, the whole time he was thinking of when he was going to get other woman (saying it the clean way) not Hunter's way. So in the end when he is doing the groveling, I didn't feel it or believe it. one whole star was because Vicious appeared

Hunter is in trouble basically. After having made a sex tape, slept with 5 women at once he’s in need of a reputation makeover. This is the first book in the Boston Belle series. Sailor who is a driven woman wanting to make the Olympics is very focused. Hunter makes a deal that he will have a baby sitter and someone watching him. The banter back and forth with Sailor and Hunter is great. If you’re a fan of this author this new series shows great promise.

This book is written by LJ Shen and I have never read her before starting this book. This story was so good!! One reason I have never read this author is because she writes a lot of stories with Mafia or connected to mafia families. This story did not have any murders or killings and was a story I could not put down. It is also a first book in the series and while the other books in the series sound good, they seem to be with very dark characters with mafia vibes.

This story is about two families the Fitzeralds and the Brennans. I guess you can say the two families are friendly. The Brennan family is related to the mob or just connected. The Fitzerald family owns an oil company and is very wealthy.

The Fitzgerald family has three children, Cillian, Hunter and Ash. This story is about middle child Hunter who is 19 and is a HUGE playboy who ends up costing his father 6 million with a sex tape. Thats when his father tells him no sex or alcohol for 6 months and he is getting a new roomie.

The Brennan family has two children, Sailor and Sam. Sailer is Hunter's new roomie and is 19 too. She has Olympic dreams in Archery and Hunter's dad promises her money and PR if she rooms with Hunter. The mob connection in this book is that Sailor's dad is part of the mafia and the scariest guy in Boston.

Sailor also two best friends and I loved how there they are for her. In future books the other siblings and friends will get books in this series.

This is the story about growing up and finding that special someone. Hunter and Sailor become a team and partners and they have each others back. In this story we see Hunter go from someone who cares for nothing into a guy who starts to care about his family company, Sailor and his family. Sailor has always had her family but she also is very closed off and Hunter brings her out of her shell.

There was something so incredibly alluring and enticing about this book when I read the synopsis for it, and let me say that it certainly didn't disappoint. I couldn't get enough of Hunter and Sailor, and never wanted this story to end. From page one with the prologue this story hit with a bang, and in my opinion got better and better as the story went on.

I am a sucker for hate to love/enemies to lovers and also the roommate trope, so this was perfect. An Olympic hopeful who is the daughter of a mafia man, and a party raging billionaire being thrown into each others lives was the last thing they ever expected. While there is tension at first between them it slowly starts to transition into something so much more. Not only is there a wonderful amount of angst between Sailor and Hunter, but they also truly grow to care for one another. They see through the walls they each have built around themselves, and before long the chemistry between them becomes undeniable.

They push at each others buttons, but they also hold each other with care. There are so many heartwarming and touching moments when they are protective or caring of each other. One of my many favorite moments is when Hunter calmed Sailor down when she was in a full blown panic at the fundraiser. I adore these characters, and honestly I can't wait to read more in this world that L.J. Shen has created.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book.

When I first started this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Hunter Fitzpatrick is the epitome of a cliché frat boy and finds himself in a bit of trouble after a night of partying. But thanks to his rich dad, he’s able to get out of it rather easily. However his dad threatens to take away his inheritance if he doesn’t clean up his act.

Enter Sailor Brennan, the fiery, redhead archer his father thinks can help clean up his act. Hunter’s dad strikes up a deal with Sailor, offering to sponsor her Olympic dream, if she offers to help Hunter.

For six months they have to live together, while he maintains his sobriety and celibacy, and she babysits him. The story had twists and turns, and lots drama. Both Hunter and Sailor overcome the pasts that haunt them, and in the process, fall into an unexpected love.

Turned out that love was something Hunter and Sailor’s fathers were hoping for when they struck up their own agreement. For Hunter to have a good influence and for Sailor to find true happiness, and they did. The epilogue was perfection, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the other Boston Belles!

Totally loved it! Sailor is a tough woman who is competing to make it to the Olympics... Hunter a guy who just cares about drinking and having sex. So what happens when the daughter of a mob boss ( Sailor) is to make sure Hunter is celibate and sober for sixty days to save his inheritance?

❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
My good I don’t think I’ve ever read a hero who is a bigger a$$hole than this hero. I loathed him and thought there was no way he could be redeemed but I was totally surprised by his journey (although he’s still a bit of an ass at the end but not to the heroine).

Our hero is the son of a billionaire and at the centre of major sex tape scandal. His father threatens to cut him off unless he remains sober and celibate for 6 months and lives with the roommate of his choice. The hero has no choice but to accept and is then stuck with a female roommate who is training to be an Olympic athlete and never has any fun. Will she be able to resist the playboy a$$hole or not?……..

Both the hero and heroine go through a lot of development from the start of the book and they really needed the other to get there. The forced proximity trope makes the two of them open up and get down for some 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed this book!

The Hunter is a mixed bag for me. I liked the world and its drama. I had a hard time with Hunter as a character. Rather than morally gray, Hunter was more of a bully, which is not my preference in romance. Due to my interest in the Boston Belles, I will continue with the series. Thanks L J Shen and NetGalley for the review copy of this title.

ahhhh this was so good! This is my first LJ Shen book and it did not disappoint.I honestly disliked Hunter at the beginning, like wow what a jerk (I am sure that was the point) but still came to like him when he was still acting in his ways. Sailor, loved her from the beginning, and loved her throughout the whole book. I didn't realize that some of the characters in this book were tied into other ones, so they are definitely added to my TBR list. The spice was spot on and not too much and went along perfectly with the storyline. I very much enjoyed that this looks to be just a romance book, but there is a plot and it kept me wanting more the whole time.

The Hunter is the first book in the Boston Belle's series and it starts of with a bang (literally and figuratively)

Hunter is your typical rich, playboy who gives zero f**ks and is clearly a bit broken in side. He's crude, at times offensive and yet.....loveable.

Sailor is a nerdy introvert who is solely focused on her Olympic dreams as an archer and nothing else, least of all boys.

When Hunter is embroiled in a sex tape scandal his father has had enough. His last chance at a place with in his family company, Royal Pipelines, is to stay sober and celibate for six months. No exceptions. Hunter's father hires the virginal archer to be his 24/7 babysitter/roommate. Surely she's far to intelligent and goal oriented to fall for his charm. Right....?

This was a quick and easy read, with fun relationships, a little mystery and lots of spice. If you're looking for a spicy romance to curl up by the fire on a chilly winter night, here's the one for you!

I actually read The Villain book #2 of this season first. And I LOVED it, so I thought i would go back and read this one. While I didn't go nuts over it, like it did the Villain I did enjoy it.

Hunter is a bad boy who drinks too much and has fallen into public disgrace. His father is tightening the reins and has appointed a baby sitter if you will, to get him on the right path. Sailor is funny and sweet and way too good for him. At least the guy he is in the beginning of this story. I thought he was a little whiny and weak and that turned me off a bit.

But Sailor is no slouch and she can handle anything Hunter can throw her way. There are some angsty moments, but all is good at the end. I don't think LJ Shen can write a bad story, some I love more than others, but none has ever disappointed me.

I loved this story but really did feel as I hadn’t read any others in this “world” I was having to try to catch up and guess who people were a little. I definitely feel you would get more out of it if you read the other stories with interlinked characters (I honestly don’t know where to start though as they aren’t a linked series on Amazon!)

Hunter is a delightfully woman hungry cad with no concept of the real world and living his life in direct contradiction to his families wishes for a lot of reasons that come out in fun/emotional/frustrating ways through the story. His journey from where he starts (it’s a mess!!) to where he ends up is tortuous at times but engaging.

Sailor is the girl who knows what she wants and has pin point focus on it to the detriment of everything and everyone else around her.

Opposites in every way the tension, passion and angst that comes with this relationship makes it a great read.

I began this book really wanting to dislike it. Reason #1? Hunter. He seemed like exactly the type of hero I DON’T like: spoiled, full of himself, gorgeous, sex pot, womanizer. But thankfully this is not what LJ ashen had planned for Hunter. A true “I can’t stand you but am forced to be near you” trope, Hunter and Brennan have undeniable chemistry. There are so many times I just wanted to slap Hunter and say, “Wake up! You have an amazing woman in front of you!” But then Shen went and made me love the dynamics of their relationship. A little bit pretty boy, a little bit mafia, this romance had me page turning so fast I got whiplash. I loved that each hero had exactly what the other was missing and that only when together did they realize each other’s true potential. I’m excited the read the next few books in the series: give it a chance—this is exactly the type of book that will make you love it even when you don’t want to. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

If you like insultingly vulgar male leads, you'll love Hunter

There's no question that this author has a talent for wordcraft, but I do wish she'd expand her repertoire just a bit, maybe try to write a male lead who doesn't have to be a complete alphahole all the time, every time.

If you've read any of her previous books, then you already know Hunter. And Sailor, for that matter. These two aren't so very different than Troy and Sparrow, Sailor's parents. But this is their story, and if you forget you've ever read any of her other books, this one might feel fresh and original.

Hunter is a very young man, not yet independent of his parents, who playacts at being a celebrity playboy because he thinks that's his pre-assigned role in life. Until he messes up so horribly that his father arranges for him to enter a unique kind of rehab under the supervision of Sailor, who has her own reasons for taking on the role of babysitter as well as her own dramas to contend with. They both have complex family dynamics to work through, though these are rather stereotypical situations for the those in the ultra-rich set.

Still, most of this story is about Hunter's personal growth from spoiled rich kid to responsible young man, and this author's writing style certainly builds a drama-filled narrative that gradually leads to an awakening followed by a genuinely happy HEA.

If this is your first book by this author and you love irredeemable bad boys, I guarantee you'll love it. If you've read her books before and like to know what you're going to get, grab this one and enjoy. If you've been hoping to see something new from this author, keep hoping, but she's not there yet. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Well, I'm having such a hard time deciding if I even liked this book or not. There were moments that were funny and endearing mixed with a whole lot of cringy stuff. This was my first book by Shen. When it became available on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance to read it before reading some reviews. Romance readers know that Alphaholes will have a past. What we don't expect is for that past to be on page during present day.

Hunter is a nineteen year old who has unlimited funds, a disdain for his family and zero ambition. After a video of him having sex with five girls goes viral a few of the girls decide to press charges of rape. Hunter could care less. His dad pays off the girls and he is forced to live with a responsible career driven girl as his babysitter for three months or risk being disinherited. In exchange, Sailor (said responsible girl) will receive sponsorship for her Olympic archery dreams. The only rules are that Hunter must be sober and celibate for the entire three months. You can probably guess what happens.

I gave Hunter a lot of leeway for the first part of the book; knowing that once an alphahole finds his person he will be all in. Instead, after their first time getting together he degrades her. He is constantly making comments about how the only reason they are together is because she is the only warm body available to him. He acts like he is embarrassed by her. This happens for three quarters of the book. There would be moments where I really felt bad for Hunter and his dysfunctional family life. I would see him do something sweet for Sailor and be vulnerable. Then a mere few pages later he would be back to being a jerk. It was so hard to root for them being together, She deserved so much better. The ending "twist" was ridiculous. I'm thinking that this author is just not for me since there seem to be so many five star reviews.

Thanks to NetGalley for giving me a reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
