Inoue Takehiko's Real series is one of my all-time favorite manga series. There is such a depth to the characters, and I have learned so much from the series about wheelchair basketball. Finally this story is about dreams interrupted, reimagined, and how failure can lead us back to where and who we want to be. Book 15 was absolutely worth the wait, and I can't wait to find out what will happen next!

I'm dropping into this series after 15 volumes have past, but I don't feel all that lost. The author has done a good job situating the characters and their relationships and making good use of flashbacks which (just as it did with Haikyu) looked interesting enough to make me want to go back to the beginning of the series and start reading there fresh. The themes of overcoming adversity were interesting, especially as all of the characters seem to be at a place where there is new adversity to deal with. A good read, loved the more realistic art, and I'll be looking for more!
