An intriguing story about finding your past and unveiling secrets deeply buried a long time ago.
I enjoyed the story and some of the characters. I really wanted to see where and if the twins will meet each other at some point later in the story because I felt bad for both of them and I needed that closure.
There’s suspense, interesting characters and a story that kept me wanting more.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

One Last Secret, by Krissy Baccaro, is a well paced suspense novel that also manages to be a beautiful story about family. I found myself so caught up in all the twists and turns throughout the book. I loved many of the main characters and just wanted to see the bad guy get caught out.
Gianna Russo has given birth to twins but she's told that she only had one daughter. When she discovers that her mother has deceived her, she promises that she will find her child.
Decades later Ella Perri is being followed. She believes that her findings in Italy are the reason why. After a strange package is delivered, she heads back to Tuscany which leads to her finding herself trapped in a sinister mansion.
Her uncle believed that he done the perfect job of hiding all his secrets, all those decades ago. Now his niece is onto him. She's discovered a grandmother that she never knew existed and they're in a race to find her.

1939~Gianna Russo knows she gave birth to twin daughters, but the midwife hands her only one. She quickly learns of her mother’s deception and vows to find her child. Days later, she walks into the woods with Luca Perri and doesn’t come out.

Present Day ~ Ella Perri is convinced she’s being stalked, and she suspects her discovery in Italy may have followed her home. A mysterious delivery suggests the darkest of family secrets await, sending Ella once again to Tuscany’s beautiful streets that harbor a terrible truth. A frightening reality chills her to the bone as she becomes trapped in a mystifying mansion with an evil past…and this time, she might not make it out alive.

Luca thought the secrets he buried decades ago would never come to light. But his niece, Ella, proves differently when she discovers Gianna, the grandmother she never knew, is very much alive. For drastically different reasons, Luca and Ella race to find Gianna in the Tuscan hills where she has been safe…until now. I really enjoyed this book. It was hard to put down as it drew me in immediately and before I knew it I was in the middle of the book!

One Last Secret is the story of what happens when your DNA test reveals something about the past that has been a secret for a long time. Written in dual timelines you will find out the reason behind the secrets and what Ella tries to do about it in the present day. Tuscany is the setting for a lot of the book and with the author's descriptions you feel like you are there experiencing it for yourself! This is the second book in a series so check out Buried Secrets too!

I get so caught up. In stories such as this one. Secrets, danger and mysteries to keep you fueled. Some will do anything to keep secrets hidden. Ella has undone a tremendous secret which will also trap her for a time. Also danger is lurking in the shadows. Luca thought the secret was taken care of,not now due to Ella. Luca and Ella must save her grandmother newly discovered. Turn the pages to see what path this all runs.

One Last Secret is the second book in the series and is just as good as the first. There are plenty of twists, turns and secrets that kept me hooked and I love the way the author writes in such a descriptive way.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my ARC.

The second in the series, Our Last Secret is written in dual timelines, 1939 and the present. Much of the story occurs in beautiful and culturally rich Tuscany, with which I am familiar so the places really came alive. However, the author writes gorgeously so you needn't know Tuscany to visualize the twisty roads lined with ubiquitous Cypress trees. Speaking of twists, you will be happy to know there are many in this book!

Family secrets hang thick like lush vegetation, everywhere you look. Paired with atmosphere, this book is very immersive and interesting, quite original. Ella Perri travels to her Tuscan roots to grapple with layers of mysteries as she searches for answers. Her uncle Luca does the same thing, though their motivations are different. Ella's closest friend helps with the unraveling as they encounter (mis)adventures and close calls. There are DNA ancestry links and old houses, too.

I really enjoyed how puzzle pieces fit together in fascinating ways. The Tuscan atmosphere and setting are enchanting and the secrets are sinister enough to capture the reader's attention and curiosity.

If you are seeking something different riddled with mysteries and suspense, do read this.

My sincere thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the privilege of reading this evocative story. I really enjoyed it!
