This was a great book to add to my Erotica shelf! I really loved the chemistry and character development.

When two people meet and fall in love, is it a spiritual connection or just the lure of desire? Explore all the facets of relationships through the eyes of Serena and Teddy. There’s an undeniable attraction these two share, even though they’re with other people. Questions bombard their thoughts as they explore the fascinating world of sex and relationships. What is love? Are two connected souls meant to belong together? Is love only possible in an exclusive relationship? Is the yearning of souls nothing more than wanting erotic pleasure? Watch it all unfold before your very eyes…

The Wanting is an erotic romance unlike anything I’ve read before. It’s written in poetic prose with immense feeling and subtext. While reading, I kept thinking to myself how The Wanting reminded me of an arthouse movie on love and sex. There’s not a clear plot structure and most of the time, I had no idea what was happening. But when I reached the end of the story, I understood more about these characters than I did at the start. Maybe that’s the point of the story, the journey. With lyrical prose and intense emotion, The Wanting is a reading experience you won’t forget.

My Rating: 4.5 stars

The Wanting is an intimate account of Serena and Teddy's sexual awakening. This is a tale of the erotic nature of their relationships. While out at a bar one night, they both meet and are attracted to another person. They end up having two erotic journeys. This box is about confusion between sex and love and the power that sex has over our minds.

Teddy & Serena catch sight of each other in a parking lot. Both are too stunned by the instant connection that they fumble their chance to formally meet. They spend the next several years thinking about their missed opportunity. They finally meet again, but as luck would have it they had both just met someone else. They still think about each other while pursuing other relationships. I personally really loved the story of love lost at first sight. My only wish was that their story continued for a bit longer than it did in the book.

This was a great story! The premise of the storyline can be compared to One Day in December but a little bit of spice to it. Okay, maybe a loooot of spice. Teddy and Serena see each other from across a parking lot and it’s love at first sight. The problem… they don’t actually meet until years down the road but like all romance stories they each meet someone new the same night. Now, do you leave them for a chance with someone you haven’t even met or give up on a romanticized encounter for someone wholesome and present? The story unfolded beautifully and although the close encounters were frustrating it made me love the journey even more!

If you like stories crafted in the style of You by Caroline Kepnes - but, you know...sexier and less murderish - this is one to try .

This sort of writing is always a struggle for me to fall into, and The Wanting was no different. However, that isn't to say the story itself wasn't intriguing. It is. It's a great idea...seeing the person your soul calls to across a parking lot but not actually meeting them until years later and entering deep relationships with others.

It questions the societal norm of romantic relationships, of sexual desires, and if you can have those with one person while knowing you somehow belong with someone else, that you will someday find a way to them.

It was thought-provoking, even if it was a struggle for me to get through due to how it is written. It's full of some very wonderfully crafted words that create quite a visual.

This book is written in a "stream of consciousness" fashion that took a little while to get used to, but the honest, raw thoughts were integral to the book. There is so much intense passion as Serena and Teddy live basically parallel lives while being drawn to each other over and over. It's a captivating read!
