I've read lots of books by this author and I must say that this is one of her very best. A psychological crime thriller that will chill you to the bone and get your pulse racing. Manipulation, coercion, mental torture and violence is what Richard is good at and it affects the lives of everyone around him. A brilliant read

Interesting story, moved well. However, i am so confused. I’ve been confused for 75% of the book I don’t understand Sarah’s plan and I don’t understand what her ideal outcome was. This is not a book that leaves you feeling like you just got into the mind of a psychopath, or feeling for the victim. It just leaves you confused and unsure of what really happened/why it happened. WHAT DID SARAH WANT?

The turn this book took was crazy! Like I had a feeling where it was going but it still was a wild ride. Mel Sherratt’s writing style is very easy to follow and envision it in your mind like a movie. This would make a great lifetime movie actually.

What can I say about Mel Sherratt’s latest book ? It’s yet another superb thriller,Juliette and Danny move to the country after suffering the death of their baby girl for a new start, but events take a wrong turn when they meet the next door neighbour’s Richard and Sarah who are hiding a dark secret. With plenty of twists and turns along the way Mel Sherratt has once again penned an absolute cracker of a book,if you have never read any books by Mel Sherratt and enjoy this genre then I can recommend her books with an absolute certainty that you will enjoy every one.A cracking 5 star thriller once again.

I always enjoy this author’s books and this one is no exception.

A loving husband. A beautiful home. That is what Louisa has. Her sister Sarah also wants what Louisa has, but just how far is she willing to go to get it? With her sights set on Louisa’s husband Richard, Sarah might find that she gets more than she bargained for.

A compelling storyline with twists and turns throughout. Kept me gripped from beginning to end.

Oh my goodness, this book was unputdownable!

I was absolutely touched by Juliette and Danny’s story and the optimist in me really hoped for their new start to be the best. The setting was perfect. A country house, escaping the bustling city. A beautiful outlook and a strong and loving couple. Then there were the neighbours. (In my head I’m now singing the tune to the popular Aussie soap, Neighbours, and I feel a moment of joy. Park that joy right now).

Richard and Sarah had me engrossed. I had to keep turning those pages to find out what was happening. Some of the chapters left me with the chills. Suddenly the idyllic location felt as though it was a trapping.

If you love a deep psychological thriller with secrets aplenty, then ‘The Life She Wants’ is perfect. The relationships are both complex and compelling, and fear flows in abundance between the pages. Loved it!

My Review:
Dark and twisted just the way I love my books. This is not my first rodeo with this author and it definitely won’t be my last. I have loved every book that I read by her. She keeps the reader on their toes up until the very end. You never know what the next chapter will bring. She is one of my favorites. The Blurb is what drew me to this book. I knew once I read it that this book was right up my alley. I enjoyed this book from the very first word. The way this author writes captures the readers and makes them feel like they are right there living the nightmare with the characters. Ok, so let’s talk about the characters. Omg, this author did such a great job with them. The characters are what made this book wonderful. I don’t want to give too much away but I’m sure you will love the characters as much as I did. So that ending was one for the ages. I loved it. It made the book come together perfectly. All I kept thinking is that Karma will always come back and bite you in the end. I’m so happy I read this book and I look forward to her next one.

Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Loved it.
Juliette Ansell, an online bookkeeper married to her husband Danny, an architect go to Abbey Cottage to start their life again after bearing the loss of their daughter Emily who died last year. There they meet their new neighbours,, Richard and Sarah who welcomed them but Juliette suspects that there's a daughter in their garden bit it seems there isn't.
There's something off about Richard and Sarah. What is it?
Then the story goes two years ago and we learn what happened with Louisa. Who are Richard and Sarah really.
Told in three parts, this psychological thriller is well written and kept me hooked until the final page. I didn't expect that ending. It ended on a good note. Loved it's engaging narration.
I loved the characters of Richard, Sarah, Louisa and Juliette. Other characters were ok.
What I Like? :-
1 The plot.
2 Characters and narration.
3 Writing style.
4 Ending.
Overall it's an excellent psychological thriller. I think everyone will love it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advanced copy of this psychological thriller.

I found this extremely difficult to leave down once I started reading it, After the worst possible loss that every parent dreads, Juliette and Dan move for a fresh start, the story takes off from there and the Plot is twisty and tense and while Richard was controlling and manipulative, he was nothing compared to Sarah. Definitely a fiver star and more if could give it read.

Thank You Bookouture for this wonderful eARC!

I adored Ten Days and The Girls Next Door by Mel!
And The Life She Wants is just as great!

Juliette and Danny have been through so much with the death of their daughter!
So they decide to leave London!
And move into a new home for a fresh new start.
They have some great neighbors Richard and Sarah, they are friendly and everything is going great.
Until one evening while having dinner Juliette is pretty sure she just seen a little girl in her neighbors back yard.
She knows what she saw.....
So she takes it upon herself to discover more!
The secrets Juliette discovers is so shocking I was shook!

This is Mel's best book to date!
I thought this book was hard to put down, I raced through it in a day to find out how this story ended. The characters are so real and interesting here its full of emotions and manipulation!
Sherratt has a brilliant writing style, which keeps you hooked with so much tension!
She writes fantastic people, unbelievable suspense and creates a world I can so become immersed in.
A gripping, chilling story which your bound to enjoy!

I’ve always enjoyed Mel Sharratt’s books and this is no exception. The book is written in three parts: present, past then back to the present. I was hooked from the first page. It’s a gripping, thrilling read that builds the tension with each turn of the page. A tale of secrets, lies and deadly truths I can highly recommend this book. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.
