THIS IS SO PRECIOUS!! SO HEART-WARMING!! SO SOFT!!

This manga swept me away in a time of giggles and smiles! Oh my goodness, how I loved this gorgeous story!

The art was absolutely stunning and just loved how it highlighted Natsuaki's aloofness and his innocence! He is just so so so precious! *cries* I deeply enjoyed reading about him and his desire to confess because he was absolutely adorable! And his best friend makes things even funnier with how he does the opposite of what Natsuaki does!

Our main girl, Nashida, is absolutely adorable as well! (Between the two of these characters, its like a cuteness overload! *squeals*) I think she would be really adorable even without seeing her through Natsuaki's perspective, but seeing how he views her is SOOOOOO cute! Like it really amps the cute vibes all the way through this whole manga!

This was way too quick of a read for because it was so delightful to read! I had such an amazing time reading it and truly made me happy! Definitely one of the happier manga reading experiences I've had recently and totally want more of! I really really really liked Natsuaki and cannot wait to see what happens next!

Highly recommend this story with beautiful art, soft characters, and super sweet (hopefully!) romance!

"Doing His Best to Confess" is cute and wholesome, but it also lacks depth. The end of vol. 1 mentions that there is a vol. 2 coming out as well but the simplicity of the characters makes it seem like it could have been a one-shot. It's a safe addition to a school library or as a gift to a young reader. (I received a free ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.)

This manga was cute in a very syrupy sweet way. High schooler Natsuaki-kun is very handsome and aloof, which makes him well liked by a lot of the girls at his school. He has a crush on Nashida-san who is oblivious to his heartfelt stares and vague confessions of love. Though this manga is well illustrated I was just not completely captured by the story. (Way to fluffy for my taste.)

This was SUCH a cute read!! I liked how this romance was from the perspective of a male protagonist, as we don't see that too often in shoujo. The artwork was cute, and it really fits well with the story. I also loved how the love interest in this wasn't too typical from what we usually see. Overall, I am super excited to continue with this series!

Natsuaki is a popular and handsome high school student. He is especially popular with the girls. Natsuaki always wears an impassive expression on his face. This makes it difficult for him to show his interest in his classmate, Nashida. Natsuaki spends most of his time in his head, figuring out the best way to confess to her.
Okay, I really like the role reversal here. Instead of the girl crushing on a popular guy. We get a popular guy crushing on a girl. I love how oblivious Natsuaki is to his popularity. He does not seem aware of his female classmates’ interest in him.
The storyline is on the light and cute side.
There is nothing wrong with that. I practically whipped through it easily.

4.8/5

A very light, fluffy, and heartwarming manga. Just the way I liked it😊

Also in love with the cutesy arts, the very sweet way the mangaka craft the story, the get-to-know characters at the end of the manga and the ever so pure and genuine MC! The pace might be slow to others but it's all good with me❤

Doing his best to confess is a typical manga of a boy who can't confess his feelings for someone he likes. I like the manga explores the anguish of someone keeping their feelings inside. It has likable characters and good artwork as well.

Review to come next week to blog/goodreads.

I received this manga from Netgalley/Kodansha in exchange of an honest review.

I saw a hot guy on the cover and clicked. Well, OK, the blurb helped as well. But it was mostly that cute guy on the cover. XD Priorities!

In this funny manga we meet with Natsuaki, a popular guy who seems very aloof but is actually just very shy. In this manga we see him fall in love with a classmate of his. He is unsure how to make it noticeable that he is interested and that he likes her. It also doesn't help that the girl is slightly oblivious to him. He is staring at her and she is wondering why he is staring at the schedule in front of her. And there are other moments. Haha, Nashida reminded me of myself. I am also totally oblivious at points. XD I had fun seeing Natsuaki fall even further in love and keeps internally fangirling whenever she does something cute (like falling asleep in class). It was just so fun and I found myself fully rooting for the guy!

I am not sure how I felt about his best friend. He seems to be a good friend, but at times he just got in the way with the lovey-dovey parts. Go away, your friend is having a moment!

The art was a bit hit/miss for me. On the one hand BEAUTIFUL and stunning and I just love it, but there were times that things just looked not pretty and rather simple and ugly. Not saying simple is bad, but in this case it was just jarring how it went from detailed and glittering to simple and not OK. I would rather have seen a better balance or just all of the pretty art.

I love the ending, that is sure one way to end the first volume! Haha, he didn't even know he had said it out loud. Oh my!

All in all, a pretty cute manga about a guy who likes a girl and tries to confess. I am definitely going to be reading this one more because I am curious what will happen next and if they will start dating some time soon. I would love that!

I received a copy of this manga through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this manga! Natsuaki got into so many hilarious situations while trying to confess and Nashida was so adorably clueless. It was all a funny mess and I enjoyed it a lot! Seriously cute manga and I would love to read the next volumes as well! 😊😊

As a faithful fan of Lovely Complex, I simply can't resist any shoujo manga where one of the main charaters is a tad bit dumb. Like, adorably dumb.

So you can imagine how enthustiast I was when I discovered that in "Doing His Best to Confess" we have not one but even TWO dumb main characters! xD Actually, I think their main feature is being completely clueless.
- Natsuaki-kun lives with his head in the clouds all the time, except when it comes to Nashida-san. Whenever he switches from the expressionless/cool face to the "adoring-Nashida-chan" one I laugh so much!
- Nashida-chan is so cute! Her sweet, friendly (and often goofy) behaviour makes her a perfect younger sister. She's totally clueless about Natsuaki-kun's interest for her. But who am I to judge? I'm exactly the same xD

The artwork is reautiful in my opinion, and the plot is entertaining from the first page till the last one!
Will poor Natsuaki-kun be able to finally confess?

Big thanks to Kodansha Comics for the advanced copy via NetGalley. This review is being given freely and honestly.

This was a cute intro to a high school romance. I thought the storyline was great and think the art was nicely done. The story telling was very fluid with no hiccups and I'm disappointed that it ended on a cliff-hanger.

Just a really typical cutesy shoujo about a shy boy in love with his classmate and wary of confessing. If you like your fluffy manga, this one is good to check out!
