Excellent Small-Town Holiday Romance

This is the third Christmastime that I have been lucky enough to get a review copy from Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley of Janice Lynn's Christmas romances. I have enjoyed each thoroughly. The author has done an excellent job creating a delightful small southern town with a group of busybody older women called The Butterflies who, amongst other things, make special quilts for the Quilts of Valor charity. That theme has been woven into each story so far. This particular story tugs at the heartstrings because the heroine is a widowed mother with an absolutely adorable and utterly believable 5-year-old boy who wants to be a firefighter when he grows up, as his dad was. The hero is a firefighter in this small town with dreams of being a fire jumper (an especially brave group of firefighters we very much appreciate here in the Pacific Northwest!). When the hero and the little boy meet, it's hero worship on the young man's side immediately. The hero takes to him as well, and I absolutely love the scenes that show their interaction, especially when the hero teaches the little boy how to sew quilt pieces together! The little boy is so believable in his unquestioning adulation and wanting to spend time with the hero. The heroine, of course, is conflicted on several levels about the potential for romance. The book also has a second-chance-at-love Christmastime wedding, which was a delight to read. The hero and heroine don't seem like they'll be able to make it work because their goals don’t align well, but the way the author made it work out in the end was a pleasant surprise. I liked that we got to revisit the couples from the earlier books. That's always a pleasure in a series that takes place in the same town or city.

I received both the book and audiobook version of this story. I was surprised to hear a male narrator at first, as I always think of romances as being best narrated by females. Luckily, this book has dual narrators, a male for the chapters from the hero's perspective and a female for the heroine’s chapters. Funnily enough, I thought the female narrator did a better job portraying the little boy and his sense of wonder and awe than the male narrator did! The only thing I missed from the lady who narrated a previous book was the southern accent given to most, if not all, characters. Sometimes The Butterflies, the group of older ladies, were given a slight southern accent, but nothing like what was done in a previous book and gave the book such a folksy feel. Still, I found this to be a wonderfully festive and sweet holiday love story and a fun-to-listen-to audiobook.

Love a good Hallmark movie, then you are going to love, love, love this audiobook! It is just what you need to get you through the "off season" without new Hallmark Christmas movies or even tide you over between Hallmark movies! Vibrant characters that draw you in and keep you connected to a sweet story of getting your feet back under you when life throws you the ultimate curveball. The author did an outstanding job of weaving heartfelt dialogue to entertain and delight for hours to come and the dual narration is just what is needed to help bring the characters to life. I can't wait to listen to more audio's from this author!

Wrapped up in Christmas Hope by Janice Lynn

Morgan's late husband was a daredevil and now she's a widowed single mom, to Greyson. She moves back to Pine Hill to be close to family. She's not at all interested in dating.

Andrew is a local firefighter afraid to commit to a long term relationship because he has a dream of being a smokejumper.

As soon as the two meet there is chemistry!

A sweet Christmas love story! I really enjoyed all the characters!! Loved the cute little boy!!

Thank you Janice Lynn, Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley for the audio to listen to this book in return for my honest review!

Thank you to Net Galley for the advanced copy of this audiobook. I have read books by Janice Lynn before and thoroughly enjoyed them and I enjoyed this newest addition to the Wrapped Up in Christmas Series. I liked the way this audiobook had various narrators. It was a pleasure to hear both a male and female voice narrating this book. It really helped to define the different characters. This was a great holiday read that had two strong characters and an adorable little boy with an extreme case of hero worship. It was delightful to listen to this story and how the main characters were able to move past their differences and issues to be with each other. I recommend this book if you are looking for a great holiday romance with the ever present happy ever after ending!

This was the 2nd book in the 'Wrapped Up' series that I have read.
Super cute Hallmark feel good, cozy romance. It definitely put me in the holiday spirit and makes me wish I would have had a Christmas wedding just to make people wear ugly Christmas sweaters. 🤣

This was a really fun yet grounded Christmas story. It had all the markings of an all American Christmas with firefighters, honouring military service, religion and down home feels.

I listened to the audiobook and felt like the choice of two narrators was really well done and enhanced the story with each taking on multiple characters/perspectives.

I was impressed that Andrew stuck to his guns and followed his dream (or at least that was the plan!) rather than be swayed by love that was working its tendrils into his heart. I'm impressed that Morgan decided to follow him and of course darling Grayson was the star that bound the couple and the story together all the while.

A solid four start christmas choice that's an all around feel good choice!

Thank you Netgalley for this arc! I really enjoyed the narrator and overall story! This was a cute small town Christmas romance.
Morgan is a single mother that moves back to Pine Hill, Kentucky to be close to her family. She’s not interested in dating because of her son Grayson and the devastating loss of her husband.
Andrew is a local firefighter afraid to commit to a long term relationship because he has a dream of being a smoke jumper.
The problem is as soon as Morgan and Andrew meet there is instant chemistry. A spark that maybe everyone but then saw coming.

A sweet Christmas tale with all the right elements: single mom, single firefighter, cute kid, small town, the Butterflies, a wedding and all the Christmas charm you could ask for in a Christmas story. I love the continued theme of quilts for valor and the focus on veterans. The Butterflies bring regular deep belly laughs with their matchmaking antics. Morgan and her son take an instant liking to Andrew, which lays a great foundation for a friendship, but certainly complicates Andrew’s resolve not to date or get involved with a single mom. He is determined to pursue his dream of being a smoke jumper and Morgan is left trying to reconcile with a broken heart that has just reopened to love again. I loved all the supportive characters, especially Rosie, who manages to take center stage in this return visit to Pine Hill. I received an audio book and felt like the narrator did a good job of capturing the character’s personalities and emotions. The right feels came through at the right time.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.

Things I loved: small town, romance, single mom, firefighter love interest, adorable son
Things I didn't love: the ending
Morgan moved her son to Pinehill so he could have the best Christmas ever. After losing her husband, it was the least she could do to bring her baby some joy. She has sworn off dating, especially thrill-seekers who remind her way too much of her late husband. Andrew is a motorcycle-riding firefighter with dreams of fighting forest fires across the country. He has no plans to settle down anytime soon. However, the more time he spends around Morgan and her son, the more he reconsiders his plans.
This story is a sweet, Christmas-time romance. Andrew is a gentleman and does everything he can to help those around him. Morgan is a worrying mom, but with good reason. I completely understand why she worries so much for her son.
The ending was rushed and didn't make much sense. Morgan went from worrying too much to taking the biggest risk of her life in less than 24 hours. Andrew's follow-up made it even more unbelievable since they had just shared their first kiss the night before.
This audiobook is the first I've heard with multiple narrators. It was a little jarring at first, but it made it easier to tell apart the different perspectives.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys sweet, slow-burn romance.
Book: 3/5
Narrators: 3/5

Morgan has lost her husband and moved back to her home town to raise her son where we meet Andrew who is a firefighter that doesn't see himself settling down let alone with a woman who has a child. They grow close as Morgan's son Greyson proclaims he want to be a firefighter and starts to idolized Andrew. Both try to fight their attraction because Morgan doesn't want another daredevil and can't handle losing someone else.

Wrapped in Christmas hope reminds me of the harlequin that I read in the 1970s. The weak widow with the small child, desperate to manipulate their self to have this Prince Charming marry and take care of them. This might be a good read for older individuals who still believe in fairytale

This is a very sweet and cute Romance. I really enjoyed this audiobook, and the narrator was really good. I love how both the main characters had to get over something that they where going through to see that each other was really what they needed and wanted. I have to say my favorite character in this book was hands down Morgan’s son, and that little boy is so cute. I also loved the butterfly girls (The Grandmothers), and those nosey women made me laugh so much while I was listening to this book. The characters where so great in this book. I did feel there was times in this book I felt the pacing was a little off. The ending was really great, and that wedding was something. You should read this book just to hear about the wedding in this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Hallmark Publishing) or author (Janice Lynn) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is schedule to be release on October 26-2021.
