Anything Hallmark and Christmas, you have me listening! This was a wonderful Christmas book set in the magical town of Evergreen. Hannah's story is a great one to find inspiration to. It was captaining and entertaining. 5 stars!

My 1st visit to Evergreen, which is a Christmas town in Vermont that has a overload of Christmas spirit. Hannah the year before wished on the town’s magical Christmas globe and broke it. Elliot, her best friend helps her repair it and finds out there is more to their friendship. Fast forward to present, life is good. Hannah is in love with her best friend, her brother is getting married and she volunteers for more on a plate that is overflowing already. The story is how Hannah learns to balance all that is going on in her life, handling the unexpected and believing that wishes can come true. Very typical Christmas story, the narrator was good, but to me Hannah’s voice was very childish. Although a good job on the other characters.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #ChristmasinEvergreen

Many thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.
This is a fair reproduction of a Hallmark movie. I haven't seen this particular movie, but the formula is there. Unfortunately the chemistry isn't. And I can commiserate with Elliot. I, too, feel like I've moved to town where everybody knows everybody and I'm a bit on the outside. I didn't realize when I got the book that it was fourth in a series.
In the main story line, Elliot fell in love with Hannah when he was 10 and moved to Evergreen. They were best friends and just last year, working together in the shop he took over from her parents, she fell in love with him. Very Hallmarky...it felt as if, after a year of sparking, they might finally take the leap this Christmas and actually hold hands in public. There was no intimacy of over ten years being best friends, let alone being in love. Meanwhile, he is making plans to move Hannah and himself out of Evergreen to fulfil his lifelong dream of making something for himself. Taking over from her parents doesn't seem enough. She is the village yes-man. Will not say no to any request. So she is spread too thin to give him any real attention and then decides to take on the biggest project currently going on in town. Of course, she is Evergreen to the core and wouldn't dream of leaving. So to reach a happy ending, one will have to realize they don't actually want what they've wanted all their lives and would rather have a lukewarm forever after.
The platonic friendly "romance" between these two makes it the perfect starter romance for tweens and teens. (I grew up reading Harlequins. No 12 yr old should read 1970s Harlequins!) It is a sweet safe story, full of Christmas cheer. Unfortunately, it is a little unsatisfying for any adult who has experienced an actual relationship.

The rest of the story:
The rest of the town is much more engaging than the main couple. I agree with the reviewer that said they like Hannah's brother and her other best friend better. The little old ladies are sweet. And, per Hallmark tradition, there is the jolly old man with the jiggling belly and snowy beard that seems to know everything but no one seems to recognize when he dons a red suit in December.
The title only relates to a minor scene not related to the main romance story line or secondary conflict story line, the scroogey old codger that shows up to threaten the town's Christmas. Gee, can anything possibly happen to melt his icy heart in time to save the day? (I thought that resolution was mailed in at the end. No depth, no effort, no real credibility.) And the requisite Hallmark Christmas village coffee shop was there, whipping up peppermint mocha eggnog. (Ew! Is that even a thing?) The narration of the audio version was a bit elfin, which I thought at first might be intentional. Not knowing the rest of the series, I was wondering at the beginning if the twist would reveal that Evergreen was at the North Pole. But it was just a sweet voice to go with all the sweet dialog.

This is a story as simple and sweet as a Christmas cookie. This is a romance on training wheels I could safely recommend to budding romantics without getting parents or the school board up in arms.

The latest installment of Christmas in Evergreen-Bells are Ringing brings much of the same as the previous offerings. It’s a feel good, cozy story that’s predictable, especially if you’ve already seen the hallmark movie. That being said, it’s still a cute holiday time read that’s definitely worth it if you want to read a Hallmark movie.

I was provided a copy of the audiobook from netgalley in exchange for an honest and fair review. A note on the audiobook specifically, I thought the female narrators voice was a little too sickly sweet and it was a very slowly paced reading. Still, again, definitely worth it.

That point in a relationship when you think you're ready for the next step, but not sure if your significant other is? It was fun following Hanna and Eliot as they found themselves discovering their own identity before making that big commitment. Netgalley and Hallmark Publishers gave me a copy of the audiobook without the obligation of giving a positive review. I thought the narrator was okay and that it was a sweet Christmas romance.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy in return for a review. I haven’t seen this Hallmark movie but I do watch most of them (and had seen the first 3 in this series). I do know the main characters in this movie are all Black so having a non-Black narrator didn’t fit and sounded off. Yes Hallmark movies are generally sweet but the voice of this narrator was annoyingly saccharin. I enjoyed the overall story but it would have had another star if the narrator fit better.

Christmas in Evergreen by Lacey Baker is a fun Christmas story. I love Christmas and this one had me singing Christmas carols while I was working! It’s about Elliot and Hannah, two people who fell in love and are trying to make a future. When they discover they want different things though, things get a bit crazy. Add in a snowed-in groom for Hannah’s brothers wedding and a grumpy old man who wants to shut down the Christmas museum, and Christmas is not looking as bright as they want. But with some Christmas magic, things may just work out! Come to Evergreen and have a happy Christmas celebration! Thanks NetGalley for the audiobook version. I really enjoyed it.

This is the fourth installment for Christmas in Evergreen. It's a feel-good holiday romance that features a different couple than the last. In "Bells are Ringing" it's Elliot and Hannah's story.

A close-knit community of Evergreen, Vermont is also known as Christmas village. The town attracts tourists this time of year with its quaint small shops, and restaurants. There's a country inn, museum, church, Christmas tree farm, and a famous snowglobe. Hannah loves the simple life in Evergreen, although busy, she's taken extra responsibility at the new Christmas museum. Hannah and Elliot are childhood friends and have been dating for a year, things are going well, maybe? Elliot has a goal of expanding his business out of town. Would they make it work?

I love Evergreen, Vermont. It's such a magical place. I would love more chemistry between Hannah and Elliot. They are more friends than lovers to me.

The audiobook read by Kathleen McInerney is wonderful. She's been the voice for this series since book one and is perfect for the story.

Christmas in Evergreen; Bells are Ringing is based on a Hallmark channel movie (2020). I have not watched the show, but my guess is the novel will follow the movie pretty closely.

🥧 Recipe included: Maple Sweet Potato Gratins with Ginger and Pecan Streusel.

My thanks to Hallmark Publishing and NG for an audio ARC.
Available November 2, 2021.

We are back in Evergreen and it is Christmas time. Hannah has wished on the snowglobe and hoping she will be getting a proposal this year. Her brother is getting married and all is going as planned. She is so busy doing everything for everyone she doesn't realize she may be missing what is in front of her. Elliot, her boyfriend, wants to open a store in Boston and wants her to go with him. She is not leaving Evergreen. Will this be the end of their relationship? Oh, and the twist is while working on the new museum the grumpy brother to the sisters shows up...twist...

Ever you one has their own mark in evergreen. Hannah has always felt left out and now she could find her own way to contribute and fit in! The entire time I felt like I was watching an actual hallmark movie!

So this book is probably a really great movie. But it was too long for a book. There was a lot of back and forth and repeating the same thing over and over again. By the end I didn't really care about either character I liked her brother and his fiance better than Elliot and Hannah. A very sweet Christmas book but could have been half the length. Although made me wish I could go to a Christmas Town like evergreen.

Christmas in Evergreen: Bells are Ringing: Based on a Hallmark Channel original movie by Lacey Baker
Narrated by Kathleen McInerney
Publisher: Hallmark Publishing
Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | Romance
Publication Date: November 2, 2021

Christmas in Evergreen: Bells are Ringing by Lacey Baker is based on the Hallmark Channel original movie by the same name.

I loved returning to Evergreen. The magic of Christmas is everywhere! This is a sweet, contemporary romance set in the small town of Evergreen at Christmas.

This book closely follows the movie, so it will feel very familiar. Like all good books, this has more depth than the movie and will make you feel all the feels.

This is a quick read and very enjoyable! I definitely recommend reading this to get ready for the holiday season!

The narration by Kathleen McInerney was very good. She really brought the story to life!

I'm so grateful to Lacey Baker, Hallmark Publishing, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

Christmas in Evergreen: Bells Are Ringing by Lacey Baker
Based on a Hallmark Channel original movie. Contemporary sweet romance.
Return to the town of Evergreen where Christmas is a source of revenue and romance.
Hannah is busy working with several local businesses as well as the church choir. She and Elliot have been friends as long as she can remember. She takes on additional responsibility at the new Christmas museum when she starts to question her life goals. What does she want?

The story is told mostly from Hannah’s perspective however, we also get a bit of Elliott as well as many other major town personalities.
It’s a sweet story of finding joy, love and the driving passion of makes the person complete. I enjoyed revisiting the town and reading the story from the movie.

Quote:
“Elliot loved seeing her smile. And when she laughed, it relaxed him like nothing else ever had.”

🎧 I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Kathleen McInerney. The performance was professional with good tonal variations. I listened to the audiobook at 1.25. Anything faster made the female voice sound like a tiny Christmas fairy.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley, Hallmark and DreamscapeMedia.

Christmas in Evergreen is a charming and signature Hallmark audiobook. I loved that the narrator read the book with such a loving voice. If someone could bottle up the excitement and hopefulness of Christmas, this would be what it would sound like. The narrator takes this book on a journey of the character so perfectly. She made you feel like you are a part of the story and are there experiencing the town of Evergreen too.

Well done and so worth the listen! Amazing job by the narrator as she is able to emote so much and make the audiobook so enjoyable.
