I provide a lot of relationship advice, and have read a lot of relationship books. This is a good book, and one that I'd recommend. If you need motivation in your relationship to try differently, or new strategies, this is one I recommend to you.

At the time I requested the book, I was needing some advice in my own relationship and thought it could be helpful. I found the book insightful and easy to read which was good. Although it seems like a repeat of other books but told in the authors words I did find the topics helpful and relevant.

How To Be In an Adult in Relationships missed the mark in a lot of ways for me. In other ways, I took away some valuable information.
I have to start by saying that the title was a little off putting to me. It seemed somewhat condescending. As if to say, if a person doesn’t act a specific way in the relationship, he or she is being childish, and this book teaches us how to be adults. However, as someone who is in a long term relationship I was hoping to take away something from this.
I have read other relationship books before and this one was basically just a repeat of other books I have read, just in the author’s own words. It did have some good point and reminders that sometimes go by the wayside. But it also had some points I found very selfish and would not be the advice I would want to be offered to myself or my husband. For me, this book was just ok. I do believe there are much better relationship counseling books out there that would be more beneficial.

This book is insightful and easy to read through. I found the topics helpful and relevant. I would recommend this to fans of the Gottmans' work.

David Richo's "How to Be an Adult in Relationships" is a classic! I really appreciate the updated content. It takes this life-changing book to a whole other level. If you want to know how to love well, this is the book to read!
