When Solange interupts a wedding to ask the bride if she really wants to do this - she doesn't expect to find herself pretending to date the groom a few weeks later. Dean is in a bind a work and up for a promotion and his bosses want someone with a partner, and he knows Solange can help him out.
He never planned on love - he's never looked for it or wanted the power it would have over him, but as he and Solange get closer they realize neither one of them might have the right idea of what they want from their lives, but can they choose each other?

When Solange decided to help her cousin with her wedding planning, she never expected to run into the bride declaring her love for another person on the day of the wedding. What's a girl to do when that happens? The only right thing would be to stand up in front of everyone and say yes, she objects to the wedding.
Solange is devastated that she broke up the wedding. But groom, Dean doesn't seem to torn up about it and an unlikely friendship forms between the two. When Dean has a huge favor to ask of Solange, she doesn't even hesitate. Fake date for the sake of getting Dean a promotion - she's in! But when the fake dating starts to feel real with Dean and Solange make a move to make it a real relationship or go their respective ways.
The Wedding Crasher was such a great fake dating rom-com. I truly enjoyed the interactions between Dean and Solange and was literally laughing out loud on more than one occasion. But I also enjoyed the sweet and tender moments between Dean and Solange when they were their most vulnerable and sharing their hopes and dreams.
I really enjoyed all of the secondary characters in The Wedding Crasher. Everyone from Lina and Max (the previous couple from The Worst Best Man) to the Tia's and cousins. Their family dynamic was a huge part of the story and I enjoyed their machinations to get Dean and Solange together for real.
Overall, I really enjoyed The Wedding Crasher and hope we get Jaslene's story soon!

Solange interrupts a wedding after she sees the bride confessing her love to someone in a stairwell, someone not the groom. Dean, the slighted groom, asks Solange to pretend to be his girlfriend to help him get ahead at work. Of course they fall in love.
There was a lot to enjoy about this book. Both of the main characters are really guarded, but for wildly different reasons. It was really fun watching them fall in love and then learn how to truly be themselves. That being said, this book featured some of my least favorite tropes: villain with no redeeming features (with bonus apologetic wife), a completely unnecessary sex party that didn't affect the plot at all, and a bit of a deus ex machina.
I really loved some of the side characters and the people who made this book feel really full. Solange's family is delightful. I really liked the kids at Solange's school. Basically, the book makes it clear that Solange has a full life and Dean's is mostly surface level, and that was really well done.

This is my first Mia Sosa book and I loved it. The Wedding Crasher, coming to bookshelves near you in April 2022, is such a cute, fun fake dating love story. And I realized after I started it that it’s a sequel to Mia Sosa’s last book, The Worst Best Man which I will be picking up very soon.
Thank you so much to @netgalley and @avonbooks for this gifted egalley.

Solange and Dean are opposites in ever way, but you know what they say…opposites attract. Solange is a firecracker, fierce and caring. She has a good head on her shoulders, but that’s nothing compared to Dean’s regimented, perfectly planned life. When Solange blows up Dean’s marriage of convenience, he needs her to be the fake girlfriend that makes all of his career dreams come true. Where fake relationships transpire, real feelings are quick to follow. Solange and Dean fall into sync with ease and there is nothing fake about their chemistry.
I really enjoyed the development of Solange and Dean’s relationship. They were a perfect pairing of wit, fun, tenderness and friendship. And Dean’s character development was especially satisfying. I felt like the storyline was perfectly paced and it was enjoyable from start to finish.

I love a book where one of the characters has this rigid plan for life and then another comes in and shows them how beautiful it can be to just throw the plans out the window sometimes.
I appreciated how while Dean needed to release his need for control so did Solange. She had to realize that she was running away constantly instead of putting down roots. I find it more interesting when both characters have to grow.
There was one part that was a little out there for me but overall I loved the tension and steam. And can we talk about how amazing consent is 👏🏼 because it was written so well in this book.
Also I need to start looking up books before I read them to see if there is a book before it haha so I guess I’ll need to go back and read The Worst Best Man 😂

”Remembering the premise of the latest romance novel on my nightstand, I can’t help wondering whether this could be the start of my own love story…”
The Wedding Crasher is a tough book for me to rate. It had a lot of elements that I really loved—stellar humor, strong family ties, and representation of Brazilian culture. Solange and Dean, the two main characters, were sweet and likeable; I loved their witty banter, their sizzling chemistry, and how they related to each other.
”You don’t always get to choose how you feel about someone. Sometimes your heart makes the decision for you.”
On the other hand, I don’t tend to enjoy romance novels that require suspension of disbelief, and so much about this story fell completely outside the bounds of reality. From the way Dean and Solange met, to the way their fake dating trope began, to the way they finally acknowledged their true feelings in the end… literally everything about their story felt completely implausible.
”Being so afraid to make a mistake has led me to build a life that’s hollow in the places that matter the most.”
So, while there were a lot of really sweet and funny moments, all of the unrealistic components made it hard for me to buy into the narrative and harder for me to enjoy it. Fans of Hallmark movies and similarly-improbable (yet super sweet & upbeat!) rom-coms like The Dating Plan or Eight Perfect Hours will probably really enjoy The Wedding Crasher.
”If there’s any chance that you’ll be a part of my life, I can handle all of the other unknowns.”

Thanks to Mia Sosa, Avon, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I really loved Sosa's last book, The Worst Best Man, so I was a bit disappointed with this one. It's not as funny, nor is the chemistry anywhere near as good as her last book. That said, she once again creates a great set of supporting characters, likable leads, and a fun read.

Thank you so much to Avon and Harper Voyager for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I was so excited to read The Wedding Crasher after enjoying The Worst Best Man earlier this year! Overall, I think I enjoyed TWBM more, but TWC was by no means a bad book. I’m a sucker for books that feature a character who “don’t believe in/aren’t searching for love,” and in the case of TWC, both Dean and Solange fit those archetypes and start dating in what they both consider a purely transactional relationship….until they both start catching feelings for each other. I liked the fake dating aspect of this book, and it was nice seeing both Dean and Solange having so much fun with their fake relationship and being so comfortable with each other. However, I do feel like the connection between Max and Lina was stronger than between Dean and Solange, which is why I think I enjoyed TWBM more. I’d probably give this 3.5 stars overall, rounded up!

This author does it again. Absolutely beautiful rom com. The slow burn is real in this one. Loved these characters and loved to see some of the other characters from the worst beat man make it to this book. Would totally recommend this one

The Wedding Crasher
Rating : 5 stars
Synopsis:
The Wedding Crasher is the second book following Sosa’s first book “ The Worst Best Man”. The Wedding Crasher is an interconnected standalone about Solange and Dean. We see the story start with Dean who is about to get married, not based on love but on ambition and convenience. After hearing the bride make a surprising confession, Solange interrupts the wedding and puts a stop to the ceremony. Fast forward a few weeks later, Dean ,who is lawyer, is trying to make partner at his girl and finds himself needing a significant other to make himself seem more marketable and reel in a high profile potential partner/client. Dean needs a fake girlfriend and pretends to be dating Solange. Meanwhile, Solange is also in need of a fake boyfriend after her mother tells the family that she is in a serious relationship. In this whirlwind of fake dating, sparks fly, views shift, and emotions sneak up on our main characters.
Review:
This was one of my most anticipated reads. I read “The Worst Best Man” and fell in love with the the main characters, the side characters, and the little restaurant/store Rio de Wheaton, that sounds like it would be a wonderful restaurant that I would absolutely love. I was so excited to find out that we would be seeing more of the characters that I read about in the first book. I could clearly visualize the setting throughout the entire book and the food descriptions made me so hungry. I can honestly say I would want to try everything in the restaurant/store. I really enjoyed the reading about the bits of culture, language, and good that was woven into the story. It made the story real and gave the characters more depth.
Solange is an amazing character who is empathetic and wholesome. She is strong willed and independent, however I loved seeing the development in her character from the beginning to the very end. She's driven and passionate about what she does, I found myself laughing and enamored by her comments and shenanigans. I also really enjoyed Dean, while he was guarded against love and set in his ways, I found myself liking that about him and really enjoying the growth in his character as the story progressed. Dean is definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends now. He is sexy, confident, smart, and you can genuinely tell that he cares for Solange. I loved everything about this book and I honestly would love to see more about the other characters within this story.
This was a great romance and a great read, I truly enjoyed reading this and it made me believe in love and all its forms. The romance, the tension, and the spice made for an amazing book. I can not wait to see if there will be another book in the series. I will definitely be getting a paperback copy of this book upon its release. Mia Sosa is definitely a instant buy in my opinion.
Side note one of my favorite out of context quotes from the book:
“As one of the most prolific poets of our time, Lin-Manuel Miranda, once wrote, ‘Fucking is easy, young man, loving is harder.’”
*Thank you so much to the author Mia Sosa, Netgalley, and (Avon and Harper Voyager) HarperCollins Publishers for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Mia Sosa has done it again. Readers of The Worst Best Man will flock to this title and won't be disappointed. Main characters Dean and Solange are equal parts fools in love and set in their ways. Couple this banter with just the right amount of spice and this book will keep you turning the page.

HOLY HELL! this book had it all!
we’re talking: fake dating, friends to lovers, one BED, supporting mothers, scheming best friends !!!!
I could scream in romance happiness :)
solange accidentally overheard a bride confessing her love to DEFINITELY not the groom which led to her dramatically announcing this in front of everyone. except now, the groom has accidentally on purpose told everyone at his law firm that they’re dating post wedding breakup. and surprisingly, solange feels guilty enough to go along with it. this can only end one way people :))
the dialogue and steamy scenes were definitely cringe at times, but I adored the constant banter between solange and dean. it was so pure and authentic that I felt like I was there with them.
but by far my favorite part was solange’s mother and tias. having a best friend in my personal life, whose family is almost identical to solange’s with their loving attitude and latinx heritage, really made this one special for me. I was thinking about my friend and her family the entire time & connecting and reflecting on their traditions. it was beautiful ❤️
thank you to netgalley and avon and harper voyager for sending me an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait for everyone to read this one!!!

One of my first ever Netgalley approvals and feedback given was for The Worst Best Man. It feels extremely fitting that my 200th review be The Wedding Crasher.
We briefly met the two main characters in this book in the TWBM. However, you could totally read this as a standalone. The first is not necessary.
Solange accidentally overhears some important information and feels it best to crash a wedding to keep the couple from making a brutal mistake.
She tells the groom to reach out if he needs anything. Turns out that he does indeed need something. A fake relationship.
Solange and Dean go on an epic slew of dates that magnify the chemistry they both feel for one another.
You must read this one if you love fake dating turned more, a very interesting turn of events that takes them to a very interesting party, and the best supporting family members. Oh goodness I hope we get more. Hopefully Rey's story!
Thank you Avon and Netgalley for the ARC for my own opinion.

Fun, fast, steamy read centered around a fake dating trope. Solange and Dean find themselves needing one another after she crashes his wedding and breaks it up. The dialogue is realistic, even if some of the situations are not. It is still a fun read.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for a digital ARC. This review can also be found on my Goodreads page.

I’ve been in the mood to comfort read a bunch of romance novels and I decided to pick this one up based on the great arc reviews I’ve been seeing. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it as much as I wanted to.
Can you imagine your cousin asking you to help out at the wedding she’s planning, only to overhear the bride confess her love to a man who isn’t the groom? Well that is what happens to Solange Pereira and she’s forced to make a decision: Should she be the stranger who stops a wedding or the observer who condemns an unhappy marriage?
Sounds promising right? I was so excited to hop aboard but I was a little shocked at how fast the romance started. One minute the potential lovebirds are strangers and the next they’re dropping innuendos every sentence. Don’t get me wrong, this book is a fun ride on the rom com train but my own preferences got in the way. This just wasn’t my kind of love story.
I’d recommend this for anyone interested in the fake dating trope, Brazilian culture, a large, nosy but caring family, strong female protagonists, spice, and of course the classic I-love-you-but-I-can’t-be-with-you trope.
Thank you, Harper Collins Publishers, NetGalley, and Mia Sosa for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review!

I am trash for fake dating, culture clash, only one bed, meddling families shenanigans and The Wedding Crasher delivers!
Solange and Dean are great together and watching them accidentally fall in love was the highlight of my month!
Thanks so much to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon/Harper Voyager for providing me an e-book copy of THE WEDDING CRASHER to review. I LOVED The Worst Best Man, by Mia Sosa, so I knew this one was probably going to be just as good.
I loved the chemistry between Solange (the wedding crasher) and Dean (the groom). I thought they were great together and I loved Solange's dedication to her family.
This book had it all: grow-to-love, sizzle, a very awkward and hot party (wink, wink), career ambitions and fake dating.
I will say I thought Dean changed too much, as in he completely rearranged his life for Solange and that was a bit unrealistic. I also thought his marriage of convenience, given that he was a stand-up, good looking guy, seemed a bit odd for today's times. However, I loved the two of them together.
When is Mia's next book coming out because I am there for it!?!
I rate THE WEDDING CRASHER four out of five stars.

Fake dating tropes are one of my favorites to read. I mean who doesn’t love a story where people think they are wrongly matched, only to find out that they are meant for each other. It just gives me all of the warm fuzzy feelings inside.
And this book was no different. Solange saves Dean from marrying the wrong woman, but literally objecting at his wedding. I kind of wish I had been there for that. I’ve never been at a wedding where someone has objected to it happening, but I would love to. Not for the messy fallout of it, but the reactions of all parties involved would be so interesting, but I digress. Dean then finds himself in a situation, where he needs to be attached for work, so he decides to say that he now dating Solange. Hijinks follow, including a sex party (which I wasn’t at all expecting), and after a break up, Dean and Solange figure it out.
One of the little things that I loved about this one was that both Dean and Solange had to experience some character growth before they were able to get a point where they were able to acknowledge that they were in love. That is what made this story even better.
I was glad I was able to read an advanced copy of this book.

I couldn't put this book down, fantastic read!! Solange has some serious balls and I really appreciated her candor and truthfulness throughout the entire book. Dean really needed Solange and of course via one of my favorite tropes of fake relationship to real relationship she helped him feel and face difficult decisions and he helped her as well. The witty banter and meddling family and friends were just the icing on top. This book made me smile and laugh throughout and I had total faith the ending would turn out as it should. This was a perfect holiday weekend read and I will be looking for more Mia Sosa books for sure.
