I adore Mia Sosa’s writing! The Wedding Crasher was just as good as The Worst Best Man! It was such a fun read and was super lighthearted!

The Wedding Crasher is full of banter, humor, spice, and a swoony romance. Solange is one of my favorite MCs, her inner monologues had me laughing out loud. When Solange over hears Dean's almost wife talking about being in love with someone else on his wedding day, she feels like she needs to say something. After his wedding day is cancelled, Dean enlists Solange to help him by being his fake girlfriend. And these two are full of chemistry!

I think that I had really high expectations after reading The Worst Best Man. I did enjoy this book, but definitely not as much as The Worst Best Man. It was also a little harder for me to connect to the characters, I think it took me at least half way through before I started to. All opinions are my own stated above.

I loved every moment of The Wedding Crasher!! Solange and Dean had this electric connection from the beginning of the story. They played off each other and made each other better as the story unfolded. I laughed out loud numerous times as I read, and it was just what I needed!

Mia Sosa is a wonderful author and this one definitely did not disappoint me! I will be reading everything Sosa writes!

In Mia Sosa’s hilarious and heartfelt rom-com The Wedding Crasher, Solange Pereira and Dean Chapman fake date each other after she crashes his wedding. Especially after their impulsive lies about their dating statuses require the ruse to help him get promoted and help her save face with her family. However, they unexpectedly find themselves experiencing genuine attraction, connection, and catching feelings that surface during their pretend relationship, leaving them uncertain about how to move forward.

Written in dual, first-person POV, The Wedding Crasher is a fun, surprising romance that kept me guessing from beginning to end. I loved that I didn’t know what to expect, and every time I thought I knew where things were going, Sosa would turn a different corner. While reading, I kept thinking: now this book is a rom-com. But Sosa’s story was a bit more emotionally intense and angsty than the average rom-com—that’s not a bad thing at all! Like the novel, her characters weren’t at all what I expected. And as much as they surprised each other, they also surprised me at every turn. There’s a scene involving a song by r&b singer Ginuwine that is amazing! It’s so well written and fun. I love all the scenes with Solange’s family so much. Sosa doesn’t waste any words or scenes. Each of them contributes to the development and evolution of the characters and the story. I love her writing style and her expressive use of language—her wit and flair with a turn of phrase are remarkable. Her description is vibrant with s superb worldbuilding, lively and colorful dialogue, and delightful story and characters, keeping you glued to the pages from the opening scene.

Solange Pereira is weeks away from leaving DC for her dream job. Her wedding planner cousin convinces her to help out with a wedding. Unfortunately, she inadvertently catches the bride with someone who isn’t the groom shortly before the wedding in a situation that makes her fear the marriage isn’t meant to be. A true romantic, she crashes the wedding to keep the unsuspecting groom from making the biggest mistake of his life. With his future all planned out, Dean Chapman’s on track to becoming a partner in his law firm and is close to starting a family until his marriage of convenience is dead on arrival. Dean panics after learning his promotion hinge on him landing an assignment that requires him to have a significant other and claims to be in a love match/relationship with Solange, who crashed his wedding. Feeling guilty about wrecking Dean’s wedding, Solange agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend. Pretending to be in love leads to genuine emotions neither can deny, but can a romantic who believes in true love and a man who refuses to believe that love—if it even exists—is even worth it fall in love and build a real and lasting relationship?

Sosa deftly develops fascinating, complex, and relatable characters through sexy, funny, sweet, and emotional interactions that further her thoughtful and creative story. The chemistry and connection Dean and Solange share are intense, drawing them to each other. However, their different personalities, approaches to life, and parental/childhood baggage don’t make it easy for them to traverse the path to romance. She’s a free-spirited romantic who deeply believes love exists and that it’s worth waiting for the right person who’s all in and honest with you. But, Dean, on the other hand, is a control freak with a negative view of love, relationships, and marriage—to him, love isn’t real and not worth the pain or risk.

Funny, original, very steamy, sexy, sweet, and slightly angsty, The Wedding Crasher is a captivating and thoroughly entertaining multicultural romance highly recommended for fake dating, interracial romance, and rom-com fans in the mood for something a little different!

Now, I have to finally read The Best Man and anything else Sosa writes!

After crashing Dean's wedding, Solange is drowning in guilt. What better could she do than fake date the man whose marriage she stopped just so that he can get a promotion?

As much as I wanted to love this book, I never really found myself attached to any of the characters. Their backstories being randomly thrown in with little to no relevancy fell flat for me and I just didn't really feel an urge to root for them either. Solange and Dean had chemistry for sure, but I wasn't fully convinced that they were meant to be together.

I did love a lot of the plot points. It was cute and definitely a lighthearted read that I can see a lot of people enjoying. Although some of the events came off as cringy (*cough cough* the When Harry Met Sally scene reenactment *cough*), it was completely salvaged by the really adorable ending. Even though I wasn't super into the story, I was grinning at the end.

I think my biggest issue was just never being able to get sucked in. Had I actually connected with the characters, I probably would've enjoyed this book a lot more than I did. However, the ending does give it some bonus points.

3.5 stars.

This book was decent. It had a fun plot but there was a lot of holes. Some things just didn’t need to be in the story. Overall I loved the main characters and thought the book was a fun time. The ending was my favorite part. So good!

I'm a sucker for fake dating, so it should come as no surprise that I really enjoyed The Wedding Crasher. After crashing Dean's wedding to his bride-of-convenience, Solange is presented with an unusual opportunity. Dean needs a girlfriend to help make partner at his law firm. There is so much fake dating in this book that it felt a tiny bit unrealistic, but let's be honest, when does a romcom ever feel like it's 100% true to life? So just sit back and enjoy!

This is a lighthearted but steamy romcom that will have you flipping the pages as fast as you can. Enjoy it at the beach with a margarita, or sitting at home in the AC - either way, you'll laugh and probably roll your eyes at some of the shenanigans the characters find themselves in (but not in a bad way). I can't wait for more from this author!

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | romance, Fiction

👰‍♀️🧑‍💼 Review: Can you imagine the story of how you met "the one" began with: "I met her when she interrupted my wedding". Yes, it's unnatural and definitely a story everyone would love to hear. Thats exactly how Solange and Deans love affair started and I have to say I fell in love with Ms. Mia Sosa's novel. From beginning to end it had the perfect amount of dirtiness, sexiness, spiciness, romance and laugh to yourself moments. The chemistry between Dean and solange was palpable and the sexual tension really built up chapter after chapter. It had me turning page by page waiting for it to hit the fan.  To me it was the perfect rom-com and I enjoyed every minute of it. Especially the parts where Dean was vulnerable and super sweet towards Solange.

For all romantic comedy, fake dating, opposites attract, novel loving bookworms, this is your next read and most definitely should be added to your book collection. 🥰💗

This was a super cute companion novel to the first book. I loved the inclusion of brazilian culture and getting to see more people from the first book. These books are funny, romantic and swoony!

This romance novel just didn't resonate with me. While I feel bad about giving a low rating, I thought it was just okay. The plot is not unusual - fake dating for a purpose - but the characters didn't come to life or charm me. The entire time I was reading this, I was acutely aware that this is a piece of fiction - in other words, I was never lost in this book.
There are some steamy sex scenes and parts with cute dialogue, but this is not a book that I particularly enjoyed.

Cute and VERY steamy but a few too many relationships of convenience/fake dating going on for me! The plot was all over the place.

I loved the worst best man, but this felt a little flat in comparison for me. It was still fun and hot, but dragged a little in the second half.

I still loved the family and the Brazilian culture, and both Dean and Solange were decent characters. A pretty good read

I loved how absolutely real these characters felt and how they drew me into the story. I would definitely stay that the plot devices are not that of your normal romcom or contemporary romance, and I love that the author has such a strong hold on their characters to make everything feel so real in this story. Overall a really solid read.

dean has a plan. a list of things he needs to accomplish to achieve the life he’s always envisioned. and in this plan, there’s no space for such inconvenience like love.

solange is done with superficial relationships. she wants the real deal, not someone who’ll bail whenever things get hard. from now on, she’ll only date men who are willing to fully give themselves to their relationship.

she wants love. he doesn’t believe in it. what a better pair to fake a relationship to help dean get a promotion?

mia sosa did it! the worst best man was a delightful read, and it made us start falling in love with dean. now, we’re obsessed! where do I find one irl? 😍

✨oh no! there’s only one bed!✨

Sometimes when I am told a book is a rom-com, I roll my eyes because not all of them end up being funny. This book? Got me cackling in my bed at 2 in the morning. My roommates must have been so confused.

This book was full of some of my favorite tropes, a swoony hero, amazing representation, mouthwatering description of food, hilarious family moments, and more 🤩

If you are looking for a new rom-com to pick up, chose this one!

Tropes:
😏 fake dating
👫🏽 friends with benefits
👩🏽‍❤️‍👨🏽 forced proximity
🗣 banter
😱🥵“oh no! there’s only one bed”
🇧🇷 Brazilian representation
🤣 rom-com
🏡 family shenanigans

Sometimes you just need an easy, yet engaging contemporary romance full of your favorite tropes, to get you through a reading slump or just to sit down and relax with. This is THAT BOOK 🤩

This book was so easy to read but it still gave us great conversations and character development. It packed a great punch in one book 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Solage and Dean were such an amazing couple. They had sizzling chemistry, great emotional depth, and amazing banter. I know how much we all love our banter 😏😏

The fake dating scenes got me so excited, they were so well written and delivering all the tension I needed from them!

I will say, I was a little irritated that the book did not give more history and context with the characters. I felt like it got a little hard to read at times because of that. There were some weird jumps in the story that caught me off guard too.

I am hearing the audiobook is really good so I know I will be picking that up. Plus, I haven’t read the first book. I loved Mia Sosa’s writing and the little mentions of past characters really made me want to go back and read the first book. So after enjoying this one, I think I will definitely be picking up that one as well 😍🙌🏽

This is such an intelligent fun twist on a fake dating romance book. Here we have Solange who while helping her cousin plan a wedding takes it upon herself to crash the wedding and stop it because she feels like it’s wrong. Then you have the groom Dean who finds his marriage of convenience stopped and yet he still find himself needing a relationship in order to get a promotion. Dean and Solange decide to fake date and hilarity ensues. This is such a fun book with dynamic characters and although it is a slow burn, you feel satisfied at the end. If you were looking for a fun romance with sparkling dialogue and fantastic characters this is the book for you.

The Wedding Crasher
The Wedding Crasher is a hilarious, heartwarming story that is rom-com perfection. Solange Pereira is trying to mind her business, helping out her wedding planner cousin, when she inadvertently eavesdrops on an intimate conversation between the bride and… not the groom. Solange absolutely cannot “forever hold her peace” and decides to speak up during the ceremony.

The groom–Dean Chapman– is blindsided. It wasn’t that he wanted to actually marry the woman standing across from him at the altar, but it was all part of his extremely detailed five-year plan. Now, things are unraveling faster than he can hold on. He accidentally folds Solange into his new plan to get things back on track in his life. Solange, feeling guilty for starting the whole unraveling part, agrees to fake date Dean.

The more time they spend together, the faster they start to catch feelings. Oops! Solange and Dean were SO good together. I just loved their sizzling chemistry and how well they fit each other. It was wonderfully steamy (I can’t NOT think of the PARTY when I think of the book!) The side characters were so strong and added fantastic layers to the already phenomenal story. Thanks so much to Avon books and NetGalley for a digital review copy!
