I am a total fan for Mia Soa and will definitely be checking out her next book. I am not the biggest fan of fake dating and wasn’t a fan of the way the book started off. But it was the perfect amount of steam and fun, just one I couldn’t get totally into (a me not you situation).
I might have had really high expectations for this book because I absolutely adored The Worst Best Man and it was a five star read for me.
I want to thank NetGalley, Mia Sosa and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.

This book had a very strong beginning but it just missed the mark for me in the middle of the book. I personally wasn't feeling the chemistry between the two and when I finally got to the first kiss and felt like skimming, I knew I just had to put the book down. I do appreciate the culture that this author brings to her books and that was probably my favorite part.

After reading The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa, I knew that I would read anything else she wrote!
This one was no exception. I loved it from start to finish and was so sad to leave Solange and Dean behind.

This book has everything I love in a romance novel:
✨ fake dating (executed SO well 👏🏼)
✨ the only one bed trope 👀
✨ the best slow burn + steam transition ❤️🔥🔥
✨ moments when I literally laughed out loud 😆
✨ extended family dinners (with a great side cast of Brazilian characters who make the most mouth-watering delicious food)
✨ magic mike karaoke IYKYK
✨ strong representation (bipoc & LGBTQ)

Rating: 3.5 stars
This took me a REALLY long time to get into. It was a little bit because I was in a bit of a reading slump, but also a bit that it just gets off to a pretty slow start. I almost DNF'd it about 20% of the way through. I'm glad I kept pushing, because somewhere around the 30% mark (once we FINALLY get to the fake dating part of the story!) it really picked up steam, and then I had a hard time putting it down!
I ADORED the first book in this series, The Worst Best Man. Like, could not rant and rave about it enough, read it all in one gulp, threw it at my friends and forced them to read it level of loved. I think maybe The Wedding Crasher would have been better rated for me if I hadn't gone into it with my expectations SO high.
Also, this doesn't SAY it's the second book in a series, but it's definitely a companion/follow-up novel to The Worst Best Man. Lina and Max, the couple in The Worst Best Man, are very major side characters in this book and there are basically all the spoilers, so if you're planning to read both definitely read this one second. I said in my review of the first book that I wanted to be best friends with a slew of characters, and Dean (one of the leads in this book) was one of them. I don't actually remember Solange from the other book, and I'm hoping some of the other cousins that I loved in this universe will eventually get their own books too (looking at you Jaslene - but really, why not make it a series?)
The chemistry between Solange and Dean falls a bit flat for the first almost half of the book, but by about the midway point it picks up and becomes by turns sweet and smoldering. They get themselves into some real scrapes, but I love the way they both grow and learn to support each other and themselves. I'm really hoping Mia Sosa writes Jaslene's story next!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for providing me with an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!
I think this was a fun read with a very interesting premise! Mia Sosa does a fantastic job at writing a humorous romance with great steamy scenes.
I never felt especially connected to the characters though, so it was difficult for me to truly get invested and want to reach for this during the week I read it. Since I didn't feel that I knew the characters well enough, I wasn't able to feel the chemistry between them and I was never really rooting for them or against them. Also, their inner conflict for why they couldn't be together wasn't very convincing, and I found myself frustrated with their inner monologues surrounding this.
I believe this book would be enjoyed most by those who enjoy a slower paced romance or those who are venturing into reading the genre for the first time.

Thanks to Avon (via NetGalley) for the ARC!

This was a fun follow-up to The Worst Best Man! I didn't know until I started reading it that it was set in the same world (following the same family) because it's not listed as being part of a series on Goodreads, so that was a nice surprise. I really enjoyed TWBM, and I was excited visit this world of close-knit women again.
I love a good fake dating trope, and I enjoyed this one for the most part, but at times this one did seem a little Too Much to me. I'm having a hard time putting my finger on exactly what bugged me about it, but I think it was a couple things: first, the fact that so many other people were roped into the fake dating scheme and were okay with it? Like it's something that happens all the time? Normally when you read fake dating, it's something that is just between the two people who are faking the relationship. But this had Solange's entire family involved in faking out Dean's coworker, and then it extended to faking out Solange's out-of-town relatives as well. It just gave everything that edge of unbelievability to me that made the trope less fun and more of a disaster waiting to happen, in my opinion.
My second complaint gets a little spoilery so skip this paragraph if you don't want to know anything: I also was a little annoyed by both Solange and Dean's inability to admit their feelings for each other until literally 90% into the book. Their chemistry is fabulous, they CLEARLY have feelings for each other but both of them are too stubborn and stuck in their plans (or lack thereof) to do anything about what they clearly want until it's grand gesture time. So that was a little frustrating to me (it just seemed like we needed to get to a reason for a grand gesture because there was no third act breakup in this one--they can't break up when they're not actually dating, so we're being stubborn to the very end instead!)
I did enjoy the book overall, but it took me quite a bit longer to read than a book like this normally would because the fake dating part dragged along for a bit (for me). Overall, not a mind-blowing read, but an enjoyable one

I continue to love the family dynamics that Mia Sosa includes in her books.
The pony moment had me cackling.
This feels like the closests I've gotten to a real rom com lately and I appreciate that part a lot too.

Solange crashes Dean's marriage of convenience only to end up in a fake dating situation with him. Dean was a planner while Solange was "stuck". This was a cute and fun fake dating/opposites attract read. Mia Sosa writes comedy extremely well and the shenanigans in this book had me cracking up. Fingers crossed for more stories about Solange's family.

Phew was this a fun read! I have had The Worst Best Man on my shelf since it came out and am now regretting not getting to it sooner. Although having a wedding theme, these books are stand-alones. The Wedding Crasher was sexy, sweet, funny and heart-felt. Everything you want in a rom-com. I really like the Brazillian Aunties and influence. My cousin was adopted from Brazil and my brother married a Brazillian woman, so this was especially fun for me to read a little more on their culture. As usual, whenever I read about food or cultural references, it makes me want to visit. Brazil, here I come :)

I’ll admit it’s been forever since I read the Worst Best Man, so I probably didn’t enjoy the cameos of former characters as much as I would have, had that book been fresher. Loved the Tias and family, they pretty much stole the show of this book. This one had double fake dating. ½ of the fake dating seemed totally plausible, the other was a total stretch. There’s some decent banter/chemistry/spice, but I found the middle of the book dragged a bit for me. Overall I enjoyed the story, but sadly didn’t love it quite as much as the first book.

Mia Sosa is just one of those authors out there who understands the assignment when it comes to the rom-com. Everything I've read from her thus far (which admittedly, has only been TWBM and this) has been pitch-perfect in that vein, and there was something that felt so genuine and true to me about the third-act breakup, especially because these two continually got pulled into one another's orbit and had to navigate their own bruised hearts while still seeing each other in person. (More of a gray moment than a dark moment overall, I'd say, but that worked for me a lot!) The transitions between the humor and the steam seemed a little abrupt at times (and this one got STEAMY), but all in all another strong romance from Sosa and I'll have to check out more of her work!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fake dating AND one bed?! ONE BED, say less.
This is a great rom-com - classic rom-com but add a splash of smutty goodness. This was cute, the relationship developed at a great rate with awesome characters. The rep was awesome. The only thing that irritated me was the 'I don't want to be in love' bs. It's not a good excuse, but I will take it.
Other parts of this book truly made it worth it.
I have not read the worst best man, but look forward to it now.

ugh YESSS!!!! loved this one so much more than the worst best man. and the cover is so so cute, this definitely redeemed the first book lol

This book was amazing! I enjoyed every single chapter, and it kept me hooked the entire time, which I loved!

I was already a Mia Sosa fan after reading The Worst Best Man, but The Wedding Crasher solidified it. I love the foundation of friendship and humor in Solange and Dean's relationship, and Mia Sosa nails the fun, flirty banter. I was sad when it was over and I can't wait for more from this series!!!

I would like the next book today please. Idk if there is a next book but I really hope so. I really enjoyed Worst Best Man and this book A TON. The Wedding Crasher was funny, hot and just all around cute. My favorite trope is fake dating and this did that perfectly. I don't think I've ever laughed out loud in a romance so much. The second hand embarrassment in a few parts was equally as palpable.
Swingers, sex parties, and birthing stimulators are a few things that I was not expecting that really made me stop for a second and just sit there thinking "how did we get here" and that's all I'm gonna say on that.
But I love Solange and Dean. They are both go all in or don't bother type people who fit perfectly together from day 1 and they just are so good together. I love Solange and Lina's family. They are peak meddling aunties and I would be okay just reading about their shenanigans honestly. I just want to read about them forever. I can't wait for a glimpse at their lives in whatever book comes next. I also would like a romance about Brandon?? He deserves his HEA too.

Thank you Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wooo! Is it hot in here? The unexpected spice in The Wedding Crasher was **chef's kiss** If The Worst Best Man was not quite your thing, all is not lost! We're not dealing with enemies to lovers this time around. The fake dating and forced proximity tropes were just the best. Both MCs managed to be likeable and hold my attention the whole time and their love for their families hits you right in the feels. 4.5 stars from me!

DNF at 100 pages.
Ugh, I’m bummed about this because I LOVED The Best Worst Man. I just don’t see chemistry between Solange and Dean. It feels so forced.
I am switch to audio later on down the road for this one, but after 100 pages, I am not convinced that this one is going to get much better.
