‘The Wedding Crasher’ is the new gold standard for all of the fake relationship trope books in the history of fake relationship trope books. So let it be written. Also? Author Mia Sosa maintains (and I daresay surpasses) the wit, humor, and steam of last year’s ‘The Worst Best Man.’

When Solange Pereira stumbles upon a non-committal bride who is still determined to walk down the aisle, she feels she has no choice but to speak up… during the ceremony itself. Dean Chapman knew he wasn’t in a love match, but when his bride backs out, he’s left in a situation even his meticulous planning couldn’t account for. When he realizes he needs a significant other to help him land a promotion at work, he asks Solange for help. And since she feels slightly responsible for his current predicament, she reluctantly agrees to be his fake girlfriend. With a suspicious work rival and Dean’s job hanging in the balance, what could possibly go wrong?

Do not let this beautifully illustrated cover fool you… this book is satisfyingly steamy. Like, turn the dial up to eleven in a sauna and sweat it out, steamy. Not to mention the fact that it’s incredibly witty with impeccable pacing. Sosa is a master of the modern rom com, and infuses her work with substance and heart. The wonderful way she approaches cultural differences, microaggressions, and consent are as edifying to read as her exceptionally crafted banter and dialogue. This book made me laugh out loud, made my heart skip, and provided just the kind of experience that left me feeling wholly satisfied.

Trust me, you don’t want to sleep on this book. It’s going to be one of my top reads of the year.

After reading The Worst Best Man, I knew I had to keep an eye out for anything written by Mia Sosa. A follow up to that title, this book stars Lina's cousin Solange and Max's best friend Dean in a fake relationship scheme that happens after Solange stops Dean's wedding. I really enjoyed his book. It had such heart and a lot of laughs as the they try to keep up the ruse so Dean can make partner at his law firm. I read it in less than a day and am now devastated that it is not published until April because that means I have to wait even longer until a new book by her comes out. I can't recommend this one enough and if you missed out on The Worst Best Man, you should get it ASAP so you can start to fall in love with these characters, especially the tias.

Solange is helping out her cousin, a wedding event planning, when she accidentally finds out that the bride is in love with someone else. Being a hopeless romantic, she takes it upon herself to crash the wedding and object to save the day…thus starts a spiral of events that will forever change her world. This book had it all: fake dating, one bed, and fake dating again! If you’re looking for a feel good rom-com, this is the perfect choice.

Mia Sosa is fabulous and I am a huge fan of this series. The Wedding Crasher has just as much heart as book one. And might be even more steamy. The author has created a wonderful cast of characters with the Tias and the primas. And always leaves me super hungry with descriptions from Rio de Wheaton. I can’t wait to see Jaslene’s book, and Rey’s, and if we are lucky, some of the Tias too because they deserve romance just as much as the primas! More please!

Where to begin? This newest RomCom from Mia Sosa brings us back into the world she first introduced us to in The Worst Best Man. This time around the story focus is on Lina’s cousin, Solange, and Max’s best friend, Dean. Solange and Dean don’t have quite the meet cute – or the typical relationship you might expect. In fact, there first meeting is on the day of his wedding. A wedding that Solange goes on to ruin. Fate conspires, and the Dean and Solange end up becoming unlikely allies who come together as a fake couple.
That’s right – this one contains all the fake relationship trope drama you could possibly want! It had the fake relationship – forced proximity and a temporary only one bed situation too. Basically, the perfect RomCom for fans of those tropes 😊 I was 100% sold – I loved the tropes, the characters, and all the fun, drama. Dean and Solange were both well developed, relatable characters – I really was rooting for them the whole time. I adore Solange’s family, so I really enjoyed any and all scenes and/or references to them. I also loved all the fun, quirky scenes in this book that were able to make me laugh out loud. I would also advise for lovers of the steam, that this book definitely had some surprisingly steamy moments 😅
I blew through this one, it was such a fun, fast and entertaining read. I loved the new characters, but really enjoyed revisiting old ones too. I also really enjoyed the dual POV that was presented – I hope more books are to come 🤞🤞🤗

There was so much I loved about this book. Solange was HILARIOUS. And her and Dean's qualities balanced out really well. I love that they both had single moms and found ways to bond their their families. I loved that Dean, despite being uptight sometimes, wasn't afraid to let loose sometimes and be who he was. There were lots of wild surprises, and I loved that it kept me guessing about what would happen next.

I do think this read a bit long. Sometimes it just felt like it dragged on a bit, especially in the last third, and it also felt like it was missing something in th resolution. But otherwise this was a fun read that left me craving Brazilian food. 🥰

Wow man. I liked Worst Best Man, but I LOVED this. I couldn’t put it down. Solange is immediately charming and relatable. The banter between her and Dean was so funny and felt very natural. Unlike a lot of romance books where an MC overcomes their relationship holdups seemingly overnight, this took a slow burn approach that made it feel authentic. Instead of yelling “this is stupid just solve your shit!” like I do at a lot of books, I genuinely felt the conflict from both characters.

The side characters really stood out as well. I want an entire Kimberly and Nia story NOW. Their whole part of the plot was so fun and unique.

I hope this series continues so I get to see more from our supporting characters.

My first book of Mia Sosa and I was not let down in the slightest. When I say this book had me laughing out loud, I mean it very seriously. Let me give you an idea of why I think so: A sex party. I'll leave that as your food for thought. I really thought I wouldn't like the male protagonist because I'm not one to fall for the overtly happy-go-lucky men but I would not hesitate with Mr Dean here.

I adored the unique plot, imagine, you have to fake date the very same person who crashed your wedding. Oh yes, did I forget to mention that it does in fact make use of the fake dating trope? Because I have never loved that trope more than I did in this one. Let's not forget to mention the amazing representation present in this book. A Brazillian lead with a strong level headed mind. I especially love the emphasis on the importance of single mothers and was genuinely moved by Dean's stance on the matter. This book was hilarious, unforgettable and honestly just one hell of a ride. Another thing I truly enjoyed is how we finally have a book with a platonic relationship between the male best friend and the female lead! I cannot stress how thankful I was it didn't end up being a love triangle.

Don't even get me started on the spicy scenes. They were phenomenal. I just did not think our Mr Dean had it in him but look at him shocking us all. What a fine specimen those two are indeed. I think it's also important to note that the other pairing within this book revolves around two females because I am LOVING the diversity in character backgrounds.

PROS: Fast-paced, hilarious and the characters are amazing. Makes use of the iconic fake dating trope. Dual POV between the two main characters.
CONS: The chapters were quite long so it may not be preferable by those (like me) who prefer shorter ones
FINAL THOUGHTS: This book will not let you down. If you need a book to cheer you up or get you out of your reading slump, grab a copy of this and sit back and enjoy.

I was honestly super excited for this book, since I loved The Worst Best Man, but this just wasn't it for me. I couldn't get into the premise, and it felt a lot more flimsy when compared to that of this series' first book.

The main issue I had with this book overall was that it never really grabbed me. It usually takes me days, if that, to finish a cute romance because of how swept up I got into it, but I found myself going days, or even a week, in between sporadic reading bursts of this book. At some point, I hit 65% and realized I still just wasn't into this story or these characters, and it just became so hard for me to finish. If this hadn't been an ARC, I probably would have DNFed it.

I think a lot of this book is probably to blame for my lack of interest. I never got behind the relationship between Solange and Dean, and while there were some cute moments, I overall just didn't feel it. The premise also felt weak overall, with so many fake dating schemes just spiraling out of control (not in a fun way). There were also a lot of odd scenes here and there that almost felt thrown in, and were either so out there I wasn't into them, or so cringy that it ruined any relationship growth that happened during it. The ending also just put the final nail in the coffin, and while I feel like it could've been a cute ending for different characters, it just didn't fit Dean and Solange and didn't properly show the growth they technically went through during this book.

While I wouldn't say this book put me off of other books Sosa might write, as I did really like Worst Best Man, I'll definitely be a bit more wary going into them.

Can you imagine to fall for a woman who ruined your wedding day, faking to be a your girlfriend to save your career! Yes, another fake relationship, not enemies but partly strangers/ opposites to lovers troupes hook you from the beginning!

Of course entertainment and so much laugh out loud moments are guaranteed when you read from Worst Best Man’s brilliant author Mia Sosa ! Another best part of the book is the main character Dean Chapman is best friend of Worst Best Man’s Max! Whoop whoop! It’s pleasure to welcome one of my favorite characters back!

As I mentioned Dean’s wedding ceremony was ruined when Solange Pereira decided to intervene and push the bride tell the truth about her feelings. ( Solange was at the wedding for helping her cousin: but her eavesdropping of bride and her childhood friend’s private conversation which includes bride’s love confession to him, changed everything. She thought the bride was making a mistake by marrying with Dean. She had to mind her own business and shut up but did she do it, nope! She crashed the wedding!)

Interestingly Dean didn’t show any dramatic reaction after finding out his bride never fell for him. The wedding idea was the part of his long check list for a man like him who’s uptight, reasonable planner who focuses his goals and believes the importance of the structure helps him stay grounded. At least he’s honest with his opinions and lack of feelings.

But when he blurts out the lie that Solange who prevented him to marry with Ella, is his longtime friend he starts having feelings for, things get changed.

He meets with Solange to convince her for fake dating for a few work meetings to guarantee his partnership. Of course Solange accepts his offer to make it up for him. She still feels bad for ruining her wedding.

There’s nothing possibly happen between two polar opposite people! Solange who is adventurous, hilarious, entertaining, eccentric. They’re like ice and fire! But what if the attraction takes control and push them do things they never imagine!

Well: the ideas of Solange and Dean’s adventurous dating journey were amazingly creative including accidentally finding themselves in sex party, getting listed for throwing axes, karaoke night which ends Dean’s singing Ginuwine’s Pony while he’s performing Magic Mike’s delicious moves ( okay, I admit this is the most entertaining and hottest parts of the book)

I loved both of the characters and their sizzling chemistry. Only two bad things kept me give more stars : I found some chapters a little wordy. With less depictions and more dialogues, it could be easier to concentrate to the main story. And I have to admit, I found Dean a little obnoxious at first, it took a little time for me to like him but how can I resist to a character who can dance ( or whatever he does) like Magic Mike!

I’m giving four definitely enjoyable, smart, laugh out loud, hilarious stars!

I absolutely read anything this amazing author writes without thinking any further.

This book has me swooning, This is my first Mia Sosa book but after this lovely experience, I am definitely reading their other works as well as upcoming ones. Dean and Solange are the kind of couple that just makes sense. Like, from the beginning until the end, the rush I felt was still there. It was hilarious and funny, and sometimes emotional. It had just the right amount of everything in it. This will definitely stick on me for a long time.

Oh my gawwd!! 😍 All the stars for this! I loved the steam in this book so much. And Dean, every woman needs a man like him. As for Solange, can I meet a real life Solange? She doesn’t beat around the bush about anything. She’s a bad ass. I will so recommend this to everyone I know

Absolutely LOVED everything about this book. The storyline is wonderfully written and full of playful, witty banter between the main characters. The characters themselves are perfectly developed and easily imagined.

Truly a feel good rom com that will have you laughing, blushing and cheering for a fake relationship between two clueless people who are doing their best not to fall in love.

I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did! Sosa takes the fake dating trope and doubles it, adds a wedding, and then some! The characters are lovable and the the chemistry is sizzling. Verrrry spicy. 🌶 Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

A fun and steamy fake relationship. Solange is kind of a mess, in that she always manages to do or say the wrong thing. Like when her cousin asks her to help out at a big wedding, and she finds herself objecting (you know, in the part where the officiant asks whether anyone objects). She doesn't know the bride or groom, but witnessed something that led her to believe it wasn't true love, and decided to save the day. But now, Dean is single just when he needs to be paired off to show his law firm that he's partnership material. So he tells everyone he and Solange are in love, which will be fine as long as she agrees to play along. And as long as they don't act on the attraction both of them are starting to feel.

Sosa strikes a great balance between funny and emotional. There are some hilarious moments here, and some hot ones, too (the house party...). I'm looking forward to the next entry in this series.

The Wedding Crasher is one of my favorite reads of the year!

This is fake dating done well, I believed the reasons Solange and Dean entered into this situation and then the reasons that kept them from making it real. I loved Solange in all her sarcasm and innuendos (I could not get enough of all the innuendos.) And Dean was so thoughtful and believably flawed. All the secondary characters were fun to read too. The ending was a bit drawn out and dramatic for me but still was strong.

For a fresh, incredibly sexy (oh the longing), and hilarious romance read, look no further.

Ok so I’m just gonna come out and say it. I loved this book. It’s the kind of read that you finish in one sitting because it’s so captivating. Their story is so well preserved and detailed that it wasn’t one of the fake datings where they fall inlove half way through and are together the whole way. It’s a lovely slow burn that I would recommend to everyone I saw in a bookstore. I swear I will be first in line for when this book come out. The way she writes Solange is absolutely breathtaking, it was a breath of dress air to have a POC main character written by a POC author who really understood the struggles. Out of five start I would have to give it 5/5 which I don’t do often but my god this story is so opening.

This book in 3 words: Charismatic. Appealing. Entertaining. 

A truly engaging read that I devoured. I found myself laughing aloud a few times and that's one of my favorite reactions from a book. I found this to be mostly character driven, with many characters you just LIKE. The author's tone is spectacular and I loved the writing. A solid rom-com with just the right amount of spice. 

This book has good representation: POCs, non-traditional education, single mother family dynamics, large family dynamics, same sex couples, and more. So many different types of characters but solid dialogue from all. The Fake Dating trope, with likeable characters, is so entertaining. Both our MCs are strong and realistic, from the start, and it just keeps getting better as the plot continues. The only thing that deterred me a bit was the pacing/length. Sometimes it felt like things were dragging, but I still enjoyed this read.

I. Love. This. Book. The characters are charming, I was invested in the romance and the plot was intriguing! This has everything I want from a romance novel! Overall, this story doesn't rely on the romance to make it special or interesting. I would have read about these characters even if they weren't fake dating. The character development was excellent and authentic. The cozy feel of the book is heartfelt. I cannot wait to read more Mia Sosa!
