the wedding crasher is about solange and dean, lina’s cousin and max’s best friend, respectively, from the worst best man. i knew i was going to enjoy this book a lot because dean was my favorite character of the previous book along with max, but let me tell you what else you’ll find in this story:

- lots of fake dating
- friends with benefits
- … with only one bed
- an amazing m/f friendship
- lots of family moments

so, if i was already in love with dean, this book multiplied my feelings by a million. he’s sooo dreamy! big book boyfriend energy. solange was not in the worst best man, so we meet her first in this book… and she is so freaking amazing. i loved her so much. she’s funny and resilient and literally the coolest person ever. i would be so intimidated by her if she was real, because she has the kind of energy that tells you ‘’she’s too cool for you’’ (if y’all know what i mean). come on, she literally crashed a wedding. that takes courage.

another thing i loved was solange's friendship with brandon! i love strong friendships, and we rarely get m/f friendships that stay that way… and i’m using this space to beg for more! also… i kinda caught a vibe between brandon and jaslene *wags eyebrows*.

i loved all the family moments! the cousins and aunts are super close, and in case of emergency, they all jump to help each other. with lots of food, of course. they're the best!

if you enjoyed the worst best man, i strongly, deeply, highly recommend reading the wedding crasher!

This book right here was absolutely incredible...I fell in love with Solange and dean.

It all started when Solange crashes deans wedding now Solange finds herself in a fake relationship with a man she barely knows to help him. Throughout the book they grow closer and begin to struggle with their differences Solange being unsure of her future and Dean having his entire life planned out.

I enjoyed this book so much but the biggest reason was how well written the family members are and how supportive and loving Solange’s family is. It makes you feel as if you are there with them all as they interact. The incorporation of Brazilian culture and Portuguese was also a lovely touch and made me feel even more connected to the family. This book has the perfect mix of romance and light humor.

Thank you to Harper Collins Publisher & Net galley for the opportunity to read this incredible novel! I also went to thank Mia Sosa for writing this book and giving me the chance to discover your work and incredible storytelling skills. Thank you!!!!!

Thank you NetGalley and Avon for giving me the opportunity to review this wonderful book! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mia Sosa has done it again with another dual-POV romance. Both characters are witty and endearing. Sosa does an incredible job of creating characters who are just so likeable. I adored Lina and Max, but I love Solange and Dean even more. What’s more, this accidentally-in-love rom-com includes extensive fake-dating. What’s not to love?

Summary

The story begins with Solange breaking up Dean’s wedding after catching Dean’s fiancé, Ella, trying to convince her childhood friend to stop the wedding. Solange’s mother had married someone who didn’t fully love her and later left her, so she didn’t want that to happen to Dean, the best friend of her cousin Lina’s boyfriend, Max. Dean’s emotionally fine with the wedding not working out, but he suffers at work for it, so he lies and says that he has started dating someone: Solange, so he can try to convince an important lawyer to come work for the firm which will hopefully help him to become partner. Solange agrees to help Dean out and the two hatch a plan to get Dean made partner at his firm through their fake-dating escapades. Meanwhile, Solange is going through her own troubles in her work-life being that she is doing well, but torn between two passions. Through the fake-dating experience, Solange and Dean learn a lot about themselves and each other and reconsider a lot of their life-philosophies.

5 out of 5 stars

Solange and Dean are so soft with each other. Even when they get into disagreements, they’re so gentle with each other. Their friendship turned something else melted my heart until I was nothing but a puddle trying to finish this beautiful book.

This book is laugh-out-loud funny. Sosa takes readers on a journey of hilarious and packed with unexpected twists and turns. I could not anticipate anything that was going to happen, and I was loving it.

Of course, I loved getting to see more of Solange’s and Lina’s family again! There is so much love here and I love watching people bond over food that holds meaning to them. I am not-so-secretly hoping there will be additional books (maybe about Rey this time?) because I love this family and all of these wonderful characters.

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa is scheduled to be published on April 5, 2022!

Thank you Netgalley, Harper Voyager and Avon Books for the eARC to read and review. This was an enjoyable 3 star read for me. There are a few things I really liked about this book, and a couple things I did not enjoy. To start, I loved Solange as a character. She is a wonderful person full of sarcasm and sass in the best moments. I connected to her in the way that she sets her love expectations so high because she's scared of being hurt. Dean is a super nice guy and I love him a lot, but the way he lived his life for his job made him dull and a bit boring. But the beautiful thing was they balanced each other out and threw each other's expectations out the window. They had great natural chemistry and the push - pull of them getting close and then pulling away made the ending so much better! Can we talk about how Dean fell in love first? So sweet. Also, I loved Solange's family. Her family was a crazy, food loving unit of strong women and I adored how this book gave single mothers so much love. They accepted Dean right away and I loved how he fit right in with them.
The things I didn't like happened around halfway through the book. The sex party chapter and when Solange's cousin had her baby. It was just a really weird turn of events to put in a romance book and I basically just skipped those parts. I didn't think it added anything to the plot. I think I was hoping for more sweet moments and more fluff but all in all it was an enjoyable read. The wedding crashing was unique and a great set up for a romance and I read this book in a day.

I'm in the middle of a run of several serious books and I needed a palette cleanser! This book fit the bill perfectly. A fun, sexy HEA with likable characters, a great extended cast, an interesting story line. Bonus- it's part of a series! I will certainly look for more books by this author. :)

My thanks to author Mia Sosa, the publisher, and #NetGalley, who gave me an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. #TheWeddingCrasher

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishing team for this ARC with me!

I wish I enjoyed this more! The "meet-cute" was nice but then...I'm not sure where the chemistry of the couple was supposed to come from. It felt like everything between them jumped 20 steps too fast. It didn't feel like there was a proper build-up for Dean to think of Solange for fake-dating shenanigans. I couldn't connect with the characters, the "romance", or the plot. It felt like there were a lot of unnecessary things included to put them in a situation with each other but it all felt forced.

Solange was annoying. Dean was annoying. I couldn't really sympathize with either of them.

The cultural references included were nice and The Tias but all the language included kept throwing me off (especially because I didn't understand it lol).

It had promise but wasn't it for me, unfortunately.

I was a fan of The Worst Best Man so I was super excited to catch back up with all of the characters in The Wedding Crasher! Solange has been roped into helping at one of Lina's weddings (wedding planner cousin from the first book). Right before the wedding starts, Solange witnesses something that makes her believe this wedding shouldn't happen, so naturally she crashes it! What Solange didn't realize was that this was a modern day marriage of convenience. The good thing is that the groom, Dean, isn't devastated. The bad news is that Dean might lose a promotion at work due to being an unattached bachelor. So he tells his colleagues he's in love with the girl that crashed his wedding. Naturally, a fake dating scenario ensues. Give me all the fake dating stories - they're always my favorite!

Mia Sosa did an amazing job crafting the world around this fake dating scenario to make everything feel believable and to keep me super invested. I was cracking up at all of the ridiculous situations they got into (although there was one super spicy scene I could have done without) and I loved how kooky Solange's family was. There were side stories for each of the characters but they didn't detract from the romance at all. In fact they helped add to the tension. I also was happily surprised with the ending because it was different from what I was expecting! Super enjoyable read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for this advanced copy in exchange for a review. This book releases April 5, 2022!

I was lucky enough to receive an eARC of The Wedding Crasher, which comes out in April 2022! This book was so good like *so* good. It’s a rom-com that follows Solange and Dean, who end up in a fake dating situation. This book has some classic tropes, like one bed, fake dating, forced proximity. It also has some laugh out loud moments. There really is the perfect balance of spice and funny moments. This is like an instant comfort read! I wish I could share some quotes, because there are some very good ones, but you’ll just have to wait! In the meantime, I need to go read The Worst Best Man 👀

Thank you so much @miasosaromance @netgalley @harpervoyagerus and @avonbooks for this gifted ARC! 💕 This review will also be posted on my Goodreads profile

This one gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my opinion!

Solange is a strong woman with one major fear - making the wrong choices for her life. So she avoids making them at all.

Dean has his life all planned out. Including a modern day marriage of convenience. His whole life he’s been looking for stability.

When Solange crashes Dean’s wedding and stops it, she inadvertently also stops Dean’s chance at a promotion. Feeling guilty, she agrees to help him land the promotion by fake-dating him. But are they able to keep real feelings from sneaking in, as they cozy up in front of their family and colleagues?

This book is the perfect combination of humor, family, love and HEAT 🔥 Mia Sosa has this effortless way of portraying chemistry and attraction in her writing that makes me fall in love with her characters every time!

Trust me, you won’t want to put this one down!

And if you haven’t already, go and grab The Worst Best Man before this book publishes in April 2022 💗

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you to #avonbooks and #netgalley for the ARC

I was so excited to get this ARC because I really enjoyed Worst Best Man. I loved The Wedding Crasher so much more! I am a sucker for fake dating and Dean and Solange nailed it. What I loved most was their banter and the easy friendship they quickly established. It was just so natural and easy. They clicked and connected, and you were rooting for them to get out of their own ways from the start. It was snarky (but in a fun way), spicy and they were adorable together. As someone who loves a good checklist, and grew up living and dying by them, I also especially appreciated Dean’s journey in letting loose and letting go. I highly recommend you add this to your cart now.

Quote: "I know you think it’s important to always stay on track, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give yourself the space to fall for someone too. I want you to experience it all. That moment when the person you love walks in a room and you get this warm, fuzzy feeling in your chest and all you want to do is run over to them and hold them tight? Don’t knock that ‘til you try it.”

Song for Dean and Solange: Crash My Party by Luke Bryan. “If you wanna call me, call me, call me you don't have to worry 'bout it baby, You can wake me up in the dead of the night; wreck my plans, baby that's alright. This is a drop everything kind of thing. Swing on by I will pour you a drink. The door's unlocked. I'll leave on the lights. Baby you can crash my party anytime.”

Love love love. I was introduced to Mia Sosa with the amazing “Worst Best Man” and was hoping her newest would live up to its predecessor. She. Has. Done. It. Again. One of my favorite things about this author is her character development. I fell in love with the hilarious cousins and their crazy moms/aunts. Although this book can certainly be read as a standalone, it will be better enjoyed if read after “Worst Best Man.” Thank you to NetGalley for the arc!

This was so great! A worthy follow up to the first book and I was worried it would feel like the same thing all over again and it didn’t. This might even be better than the first book. The only quibble I had is that the MC from the first book, Lina, appears incredibly shrewish and mean in this book. Both of the MCs in this book were well drawn and realistic, and I especially loved the incredibly interfering mother and tias.

I loved the Worst Best Man, however, the writing style wasn’t my favorite! It felt a little juvenile to me but I did not have that same problem with this one! I love this book and these characters felt very real to me. I am definitely eager to read more by Mia Sosa after finishing this! Thank you netgalley for the ARC :) #TheWeddingCrasher #NetGalley

fake dating you say?? say less.
This book was sooooo cute and had so many moments that made me smile!
Loved these two leads they were everything…the only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because it took me a while to actually feel anything towards the characters and really get into the story otherwise, the dialogue was super fun and I definitely think this was a short and sweet one.

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa was exactly what I needed this past week. I picked it up for the T-Swift Speak Now vibes, and I was not disappointed.

Solange is a splash of vibrancy, the kind of person who has a million dreams and doesn't want to nail herself down to just one. However, she certainly doesn't expect to find herself breaking up the wedding of complete strangers upon realizing that the bride is in love with another man. Dean, the groom left at the altar, is a charming, career-minded lawyer who has his entire life planned out. When he realizes that the only way to make partner at his firm is to pretend to be madly in love with the woman who crashed his wedding, it's only a matter of time before their fake relationship feels more real than his engagement ever did.

Sosa does a lovely job of reviving an old trope with hilarity and wit. A true modern romance, The Wedding Crasher is cognizant of diverse cultural and social backgrounds, the struggles of being a young professional, and the growing acceptance of unorthodox expressions of intimacy. Certainly one of my favorite romances of 2021!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I just couldn't get into this one. The beginning itself with the "meet-cute" and then I just couldn't find the chemistry between the main couple. This was definitely a personal preference thing with not meshing with the main couple and the plot despite my loving the fake dating trope.

I absolutely loved this book!! The tension between Solange and Dean, the emphasis on family, the fake dating trope. I truly adored the characters and it had everything I look for in a good romance novel.
