I loved this book! It had a little bit of everything. There was so much great banter between Solange and Dean. They were flirty, fun and spicy. You have fake dating and one bed tropes in a book and its going to be a winner.

Mannnn this book - the banter, the steam, the swoon, it really felt like this book really had it all!

I feel like I need to first address the steam. This isn’t the regular run of the mill of having a steamy sex scene, there is genuine build up & tension like I’ve never read before. I think what was different is that it went beyond just being attracted to each other, it factored in their atmosphere & things that were happening to them. That felt real and not like it was just a story. The characters are very different from each other, but both are loveable. As individuals they are kind, funny & beautiful people. I really liked Solange and felt like she would be someone I’d want to be friends with in real life. I love how close she is to her family, and I love reading about her tias and cousins.

Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, and I think this story did it well. I read this story over the course of two days and in the moments I wasn’t reading, I found myself thinking about it and couldn’t wait to get back to reading it. I just loved it.

Thank you Netgalley, Mia Sosa and Avon for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review. The Wedding Crasher comes out on April 5, 2022!

If you haven’t read the first book in this Universe, make sure you check out The Worst Best Man. Funny story, I read The Worst Best Man last year and just realized I never posted my review on it. I don’t remember all the details to post a full review, but I remember loving it for all the same reasons. Mia has a way of just writing cultured, funny, steamy romances.

***ARC***

when I tell you receiving an arc copy of the wedding
crasher made my entire year I'm not kidding, the first
book in the series was my favourite read of last year and
this one, my most anticipated read of next year.

when I saw that this book would follow the sweetheart
dean, who we learn to love through Max's gaze and the
free-horse that was described by lina as solange, I was
so over the moon. but to see them in a fake relationship
and SHE crashed HIS wedding, I could already see the
stars.

and boy I saw stars, galaxies, electricity, butterflies. this
book put me through a range of emotions I can tell you
that.

you need to know, this series by mia, means so much to
me, from the first page in the worst best man, I knew I
would love the book, and I did. and when I read the first
page of the wedding crasher i knew the same would
happen. reading this book, was for me, like coming back
home. the santos-perreira are my family, literally.

if you could have witness the way the first chapter put
me? omg, i was literally the embodiment of the
adjective « giddy ». I was laughing, blushing, jumping
and doing little silly dance because of how good it was
to return to this world. from the first page I was
squealing. solange is so funny. and her first encounter
with dean ????? i never saw two persons connect this
much without knowing the other : insane

the story of solange crashing dean's wedding, and dean
needs to fake a relationship and is only option being
solange: sparkles.

their fake relationship was one of the best I have ever
read, because of the playfulness between them, the
masked attraction, the banter, it was so delightful to
read.

you see the progression of two strangers becoming best
friends to end up being lovers and they did it so well.
the seggsual tension between them was making my skin
turn to heat and ladies when they finally did it : i was
exhausted by the tension and butterflies I was feeling in
my tummy.

there are several unexpected but oh damn so funny
scenes, I know I will reread them.

this book is a story of two adults who find their person
but life made them weary of love who are trying to
navigate the difficult choice of staying friends to become
lovers, which a big dose of humour, of course.
to conclude, you better put this book in your tbr and
preorder it, because I can assure you, this is going to be
your new comfort romcom.

i would advise you to read the worst best man, before
reading the wedding crasher to understand all of the
dynamics and fully appreciate the lina/max crumbs but I
think you can totally read it as a standalone!

back to my opinion:
one of the things that makes this series so special to me
is how much I relate to the female character, where I
saw my struggle in lina, i saw my personality and
dreams in solange. We are so alike and it makes my
heart warm.

i fell in love so deeply in dean and solange, their
personalities, their struggles, they are my new
sweethearts and I can say I'm officially in a new trouple.
seeing the tias, max, lina, natalia, jaslene, was the thing I
needed to, my light in the shadow.

as much AS I LOVE max and lina's story I think solange
and dean's will be like by more people and I hope so
because these two books and women deserve all the
love you can offer!

ratings:
overall : 5⭐️

I loved everything about this book! The spicy personality of Solange mixed with the straight- laced Dean made for a delightful pairing! Fake dating tropes are one of my favorites and this one was <chef's kiss> perfect. When Solange crashes Dean's wedding on what she assumes is a valid reason, she learns that everyone has a story and that things aren't always what they seem. Dean is as type A as they come and it's fun to see him begin to loosen his collar so to speak as he grows closer to Solange. They are the epitome of fire and ice yet their dynamic is completely relatable! The overall storyline is a bit of a stretch, but the feelings and emotions are genuine. A fun, but smart read. Just enough humor, love, spice, and substance to make for the perfect fake dating relationship. I haven't read Mia Sosa's "Worst Best Man" but after reading The Wedding Crasher, it's now on my TBR list!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Fun book, I really enjoyed it. Really cute love story.

After Solange crashes Dean's "marriage of convenience" the two embark on a fake dating adventure...for reasons I can't quite figure out. They seemed to be super into the fake dating scheme pretty fast, but not wanting to admit to the other that they actually like each other's company and that they're falling in love. But in a way it was also refreshing because they, for not a single page, hated each other.

Enjoyed: Solange and her family: I do love a bunch of strong wild women. Solange and her class/the students she teaches and mentors: she's very good at what she does and I wanted more of that dynamic.

I didn't care for all the sexual innuendo, sex scenes, and what even was that sex party chapter? I probably sound like a prude but that type of content is not my jam so I just let my eyes glaze over until I get through it.

Overall, not as entertaining as The Worst Best Man. Kind of all over the place, not terribly believable but at times sweet.

This was fun! Found myself laughing out loud at so many moments, plus the family dynamic is beyond amazing. Definitely enjoyed this one better than The Worst Best Man. There were parts in the beginning and near the end that were cringe-worthy, but the remaining 80% of the book makes for a very entertaining read. So much character growth and chemistry too! Loved both Solange and Dean as MCs. All the food mentioned made me hungry while reading! Thank you Netgalley for the earc!

Mía Sosa is becoming one of my favorite authors. If you loved Worst Best Man, I guarantee you’ll enjoy this one. It was sweet, funny and so wonderful to see all the characters again. Solange and Dean are complete opposite who can’t help falling for each other.

I thought this was soooo fun and cute! I loved Mia Sosa's "The Worst Best Man" so this was a great follow-up. I loved the aspects of family brought into the plot, and the relationship felt relatable and slightly outside normal tropes with Dean's personality! It genuinely was not predictable so I enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review!

The Wedding Crasher was so much fun!

Dean is a man with plans. He’s paid off his student loans, owns his home and is marrying the perfect, convenient woman. Everything is going according to his life plan until Solange, his best friend’s girlfriend’s cousin, crashes his wedding and insists he can’t go through with it.

Solange isn’t planning on sticking around. Her work position is only temporary and whether her next step is Ohio or Brazil, she knows she won’t be putting down roots in DC. When newly single (totally not her fault) Dean needs a fake relationship to help advance his career, Solange is quick to accept. They might even become friends, but definitely nothing more. Right?

This book is the perfect blend of sweet and steamy. Mia Sosa is a great writer and I love the way she writes her characters. The women are always strong, smart and sassy. Seriously, Solange was hilarious! I laughed out loud several times while reading this book. The chemistry between Solange and Dean was immediate and palpable, but what I loved even more than the physical chemistry was how they so readily gave eachother what they needed, even if that didn’t always come naturally to them.

Finally, the family element. I loved meeting Lina’s family in Mia’s other book The Worst Best Man, and I’m so glad we got to see them again in The Wedding Crasher. The tias are loud and meddling (in the best way), but when life throws them challenges they band together and work their way through it together. And it’s usually hilarious at the same time.

The birthing simulator? 😂 the sex party?! So many fun and ridiculous moments. This book also included some of my favorite tropes - fake dating and there was only one bed.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Avon & Mia Sosa for a review copy. I loved Dean and Solange’s story and can’t wait to reread it!

The Wedding Crasher is chaotic in the best possible way, following outspoken, guarded, and messy Solange, who stops the wedding of handsome, anal-retentive, and highly scheduled Dean. Honestly, it felt like a Gemini/Capricorn pairing -- two complete opposites that end up fake dating to serve the needs of their professional and personal lives, and perhaps find a spark (or bonfire, more like) of intimacy and adoration for each other.

There are some wild scenarios and date-like situations in this installment of the wedding series (The Worst Best Man was one of my favorite romances of last year), with tons of hilarious banter and Brazilian food. There's lots of steam, and once again, Sosa manages to follow the romance structure while making it surprising and refreshing in the ways that conflict and resolution come to be.

This book hit me less in the feels than WBM, but I think it may have made me laugh even harder. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a very lively, spicy romance in which two people learn to compromise and recognize how maybe their goals are slightly different than what they have imagined and making room for companionship and love. Thanks to NetGalley for an early review copy, all opinions are my own.

Solange and Dean meet for the first time when she interrupts his wedding ceremony. They both end up needing a fake live in significant other because "romance reasons." Of course it's hard to not develop feelings when you are faking a loving relationship. I really enjoyed this book. I didn't realize that there was a prior book that includes Solange's cousin's story until I had already started reading. Some of the scenarios they get themselves into are a bit ridiculous but fun none the less.

Dean is so goal oriented. He makes a list for everything. Seeing him start to put his guard down and envision a life with Solange is so heartwarming. Solange is confident in herself. She has a strong network of friends and family that have the best intentions. The only thing she isn't quite sure about is where she wants to end up in life. Having never read a Mia Sosa book before, I was kind of surprised by the amount of steam in the best way. Sosa incorporated some of my favorite tropes: one bed, fake dating/relationship, mutual pining, There is plenty of sex positivity. Dean is like the king of consent; always making sure that Solange is on the same page. There is a voyeurism scene midway through if you aren't into that.

Some of my favorite scenes in the book surround Solange's family. Her Brazilian culture was so well written giving the reader a peek into the food, traditions and family dynamics. You could see Dean's respect and admiration for her family from the onset.

This was a fairly quick read for me. I opted to read this book in one sitting instead of folding laundry because I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait to read Sosa's other book "Worst Best Man" so I can spend some more time with these loveable characters. Thank you to NetGalley, Mia Sosa, and Avon Harper Voyager for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was SO GOOD - I'm already telling people about it and having them get it on their radar to read. There were scenes so funny I laughed out loud for a while - and scenes so spicy I had to put it down for a second!

Ahhhhh I’ve never read any books by Mia Sosa but I’m thankful to have been able to receive an ARC of The Wedding Crasher. I absolutely loved the story line and the chemistry between both of the characters. It had me tearing up in some parts of the book. I am so excited for more humans to be able to read this gem of a book!

Super cute story. I really liked Dean and Solange’s crazy story of being a couple. Solange’s family rounded out the story with laugh out loud moments. Read The Worst Best Man first - it’s a cute one too. Thanks for ARC Netgalley!

Mía Sosa’s writing is truly true phenomenal and this book highlights how amazing she is at writing strong, witty, female protagonists.

This book had a bit of everything. You will laugh from beginning to end. Solange is so funny and being back with her cousins and tias was so much fun! The banter between Dean and Solange was flirty, so funny, and a little bit dirty.

I mean y’all, Mia incorporates fake dating, sharing one bed, and a sex club all in one book. WHAT MORE CAN WE ASK FOR?!

The family themes in this book were some of my most favorite parts. I love strong female friendships and relationships and that’s exactly what we see in Solange’s family. The sprinkle of Portuguese throughout the book and the Brazilian food and customs mentioned were excellent. I also really loved how this book honored immigrant single mothers, their joy, strength and resiliency.

This was just okay. Some of the situations they got themselves into strained my disbelief a bit, but overall I liked the characters and their relationship.

Mía Sosa’s writing is fabulous! This book highlights how amazing she is at writing strong, witty, female protagonists. This book is a great follow up to Worst Best Man.

This book had me laughing at the antics of Solange. The banter between her and Dean was also funny, but also flirty! Overall a steamy, funny, rom-com read which will have readers wanting more from Mia.

THIS BOOK!

Okay so I absolutely raced through this in just a couple of days. Dean and Solange are ADORABLE. They are hilarious, clueless, beautiful people and I want a double date with them immediately.

If I'm being up front, I was a little concerned the first quarter of the book. It honestly felt a bit insta-lovey; Dean and Solange's attraction to each other is electric from the second they meet, and I was worried that pacing would be a problem. However, Mia Sosa does an excellent job stoking sexual tension while giving both characters very believable reasons to hold back romantically and emotionally. That balance paves the way for one of my favorite couple dynamics yet; their flirting is hilarious and goofy and sexy all at the same time. Also, Dean is a respectful KING. What an absolute unit.

For those of you who love steam -- this is a must-read. It's not really my personal thing, but I very much appreciated the use of adult words (seriously, if I read someone referring to a sex organ as "down there" or some other euphemism one more time, I might stop reading altogether), and I can tell that many, many romance readers will absolutely eat those scenes up.

Some of my favorite parts, though, were the relationships Dean and Solange had outside of each other. Solange's family is a beautiful window into Brazilian culture and family dynamics, and I adore their fierce love for each other. Dean's friendship with Max is both funny and endearing.

A few tropes and buzzwords to get you excited to pick this one up when it's published:
-Fake dating
-Mutual pining
-Clueless MCs
-"I'm intensely attracted to you but we don't make sense as a couple"

Also, at one point, a labor simulator is used. That's all I'm saying.

If you like romance, you absolutely have to pick this one up. Mark your calendar for 04/05/2022!

This is cute and well-written, it's also got one of my favorite romcom tropes of all time but this just didn't work for me. It's objectively very good and I would recommend it to ANYONE, but I hated how shallow the whole novel was. The characters are well-written, but not fleshed out as much as necessary for how character-driven the book is.
