I was expecting a thrilling space adventure and some cool alien gods, since the synopsis mentions the "most powerful force in the universe". I had not clocked that this was published by Christian Faith Publishing. I was not expecting that force to be God.

The story is trying to do too much in too little time, and doesn't grow characters or the world like I want to see in a sci fi like this. It felt stilted and not really my cup of tea.

I wish it had been more clear about being a faith-centered book.

I uh.. ah. Hmm.

Published by Christian Faith Publishing. This will teach me to pay more attention.

There's a hint in the synopsis about characters appealing to the "most powerful force in the universe. "
God. It's God, guys. I legitimately thought this was referring to some Cthulu-esque entity. You know, something more befitting a science fiction plot.

This is a plea to make your subgenres more obvious.

As for the story, it's quite haphazard. The author is trying to accomplish far too much in far too short of a book. I like the overarching idea of the plot, it's just so rushed it's not very enjoyable.
