Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an excellent book in The Widow. I really enjoyed it and was totally engrossed in it. I loved the two main characters and the ending was explained soooooo well. A very good, psychological read!!!!

I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

A little slow in the very beginning, but it definitely picked up in the second half. Some good twists. A quick, enjoyable read.

Another excellent book from one of my favourite authors. Her writing just gets better and better and I think this book might be her best yet (although I think I might have said that about the last book too ) Gripping from the start with so many twists but a good ending tying up all the loose ends. Highly recommended and I cant wait for the next book by K.L. Slater.
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A little slow to start, but the narrative did get better-a little over-written and predictable for me but a decent read nonetheless.

As twisted and compelling as always from KL Slater! Yes there are some gaping holes in the plot but they are totally excusable in what is one of the best psychological thrillers I've read this year.

This is not one of the best books by this author. It falls way below her standards. There are quite a few editing errors. The plot and the narrative are mundane and there are no twists nor suspense. Her regular readers are bound to be disappointed.

My Review:
Another wonderful read from one of my favorite authors. I picked up one of her books years ago and I never looked back. I knew after that first book I was hooked like an addict is with his drugs. I can’t say enough good things about this author and her books. I really enjoyed this book along with that epic ending. There was a mega twist at the end that I could not believe. If you read my reviews you know I’m all about the endings. They can either make or break a book for me. In this case it made the book. There were many little surprises throughout the whole book but that main one at the end did it for me. I love it when a book takes me on a rollercoaster ride that I do not want to get off from. I can’t wait to read this authors next book. I hope she continues to write for many more years. Thank you KL Slater for being such an awesome author.

Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yet another amazing read by this author. Kept me turning the pages to want more. Another great recommendation for anyone who's interested

I do enjoy books by this author but I feel this isn't one of her best. The village setting was well written and there were a good few twists in the tale but I felt it was all a bit formulaic in the domestic thriller genre and that we didn't really get to know the characters well enough to really relate to them. Those a bit more unfamiliar with the genre might get more out of this book.

Love this author and have read all their previous books. The marriage was fabulous so was excited to read this one !
My husband was not a monster. No matter what they say…

The day my husband, Michael, stepped in front of a lorry after being questioned by the police, my world fell apart. He was devoted to me and our six-year-old daughter. But they’d connected him to the disappearance of a young mother from our tiny village.

Now I stand at Michael’s funeral, clutching my little girl’s hand, with tears in my eyes as I insist to all our friends that he died an innocent man. Yet the questions have started, and nothing I say will stop them digging for the truth.

But none of them can read the secrets in my heart, or know about the phone I found hidden in his toolbox…

I’m determined that my daughter will not remember her father as a monster. I will erase any hint of wrongdoing in this house whatever the cost.

Because to keep my daughter safe, the last thing I need is for people to start looking at me…

Wow! What a fantastic read! This author just keeps getting better and better ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another hit read from this author and if it doesn’t get made into a tv drama they are idiots. This time it focuses around a missing person but how would you react if everything points to your husband. As secrets and lies spill out this story gets even darker than even I imagined. Trust no one.

I took a chance on an author I had not tried out before. The story sounded intriguing and I do love myself a psychological thriller. I am going to be honest and fair but to do that I must say that that I did not enjoy this book at all, and I did my very best to get into it.

The story was for the most part very boring, there was no wow factor at all for me in any part of it. The twists and turns were mere bends in the road and some I did guess. I don't mind guessing the plot twists but I just really couldn't even begin to care about the characters so just wanted it to be over.

The story is told from multiple vantage points which I do enjoy, but Kate the books main character is annoying and unlikable, the world revolves around her and her "perfect" family and she will not stop repeating herself. Unfortunately for me the storyline felt like you were constantly being reminded of what had happened to someone or what was going on so that you could be "ready" for the big twist at the end.

I can deal with unlikeable characters if they are exciting, interesting or funny in some way but all of the characters in this book were not only unlikeable but painstakingly boring. Unfortunately, there were some major errors in the timeline and order of some of the paragraphs as well. Normally this wouldn't be a blip on my radar but they were so bad that I kept finding them and started to get irritated as I had to keep going back and checking that what I thought should be happening was actually happening. The wrong name was used a number of times and again normally I just gloss this cause who doesn't make mistakes but on top of the fact that I was very much bored it just made for an unpleasant read.

I hate giving bad reviews and I did my absolute best to find something that I liked about this book, unfortunately there wasn't anything. I do hope that other readers have a different experience and I am grateful to NetGalley, Bookouture and the Author for an advance copy for an honest review, I am just sorry that I couldn't give it more of a rating.

This was brilliant as usual , just what I would expect from K L Slater . Loads of twists , suspects and a satisfying conclusion .Kate is very happily married to Michael , they have a small daughter . On the night of the village Christmas Fayre a young mother goes missing leaving behind her son , Kate doesn't know why Michael is acting so strangely , surely he is not involved . Donna , Kates friend has her own problems with a husband who is constantly unfaithful , when the police start their investigation numerous secrets are in danger of being unearthed .Great , entertaining read , I loved it

K.L. Slater at her absolute best. Yet another page-turner from this great author. So many twists right up to the end that is this wonderful author's trademark. Just brilliant.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in return for my honest review.

OMG Kim what a bloody fantastic gripping read.

I was drawn into the storyline from the start and I loved the short chapters meaning I could pick my kindle whenever I got the chance and read a quick chapter here and there.

I was sucked into the world of Kate and as always my guesses and theories were totally way off and wrong!

This is favourite read from Kim so far, absolutely everything you could want from a thriller.

A huge ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me.

Just wow! Definitely one of my favorite books of the year! I was hooked from page one and the thrills never ceased. Awesome characters and storyline. KL Slater weaves her magic again, her expertise is addicting. Huge on the creep factor and shocking twists! Wish I could give this more than a huge five stars.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

K.L. Slater is back on top form, an addictive thriller that had me hooked from start to finish. Fast paced, great characters and a well written plot make this an entertaining read.

Kate Shaw’s world crumbled when her husband Michael stepped in front of a lorry after being questioned by the police. Michael was spoken to by the police concerning the disappearance of a young woman named Suzy Baros.

Following Michael’s death Kate feels compelled to seek the truth and prove her husbands innocence, not only for her but their six year old daughter.

This novel is typical of K.L. Slater’s writing, fast paced, addictive and full of twists and turns.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
