I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Most Monstrous Band is a cute children's story about a group of monsters that form a band. The only problem is they can't think of a name! The reader or listener creates the band names - yes, names because there are a few times the band finds the name was already taken!

This was a very cute book, and I love that it is interactive. The illustrations here are also beautiful.

This young reader concerns a band made up out of the oddest, most peculiar characters possible, and presents the tale of their foundation and the beginnings of what we are told is a hugely successful career in gaudy, almost Gorillaz style. And it's worth bringing an existing band name into the review, for that's what the book concentrates on – it's WE the audience who name the band for the characters, saying the name we've come up with at every request. Only we better not have used the best name we can come up with at first, for the shtick is that it's a name that's already been taken, not once but twice. It's hardly an earth-shattering new deal for young fiction, but it's a decent little quirk. I couldn't say the artwork was exactly my style, so four stars is a bit generous, but that's what it's got.
