Thank you, Christy Ottaviano Books, for allowing me to read Dead End Girls early!

When I requested this title I thought I'd love it because I love thrillers so much, but alas this was not the case. As always, I think it's a case of "it's not you, it's me" and someone else will love this book more. I'll still suggest this novel to any students looking for sapphic thrillers, but it's not like it is going to be at the top of the list.

I received this eARC from NetGalley and these opinions are my own. This book was a wild ride from start to finish! I read it in one day because I was so caught up in it I had to know what happened next! Maude struggles with feeling that she’s just an annoyance to her parents so she comes up with a plan to fake her own death, a plan that’s ruined by her step cousin Frankie, but instead of turning her in Frankie wants to join her. Together they go on a journey and hijo is ensue! I loved both Maude and Frankie! I loved how Wendy Heard create the mystery fill with Frankie’s side story! I loved that they were both strong independent characters one struggling with keeping her sexuality a secret and the other struggling to identify who they were! I also loved the genius of Maude and the way she was able to think them out of all these tuff situations! Both of them have horrible family dynamics but with each other they found hope! I really enjoyed this story and think it’s a must read for all who love LGBTQ+ and mystery/thriller books! Can’t wait to read it again when it comes out!

This book is like a modern version of Bonnie and Clyde. Is charismatic main characters are absolutely entertaining enough to read an entire book about. I absolutely cannot wait to find out what happen when was not disappointed. Highly recommend!

This book kept me hooked from the start. The writing was so good! I really need to pick up more from this author. Literally, this was a 2 sitting read.

While it had so many unrealistic parts and situations thrown in it was still a wild fictional ride that was just fun to hang out with these characters while they are on an unbelievable yet wild adventure.

I'm trying to be as vague as possible do not to spoil as this is well before the release date 😅 however I had a lot of fun with this one!

This was a fun thriller! After years of being treated like she's invisible by her family, Maude wants to fake her death. Then she can live the life she wants, as a gay woman. She is all set to put her plan in motion, when her step-cousin Frankie discovers what she is up to. But Frankie doesn't want to tell anyone, she just wants to go with her. What Frankie is running from is the mystery that kept me glued to the book, as her backstory is slowly told through flashbacks. I loved that this was an LGBTQ thriller, as I haven't seen a lot of those. Would definitely recommend!
