I found this book to be slow at first but after a few chapters, I really started to enjoy it. I like the characters and the story is so good.

I do recommend

This is a lovely, contemporary family drama and romance,
In which five adopted siblings are given the chance
To develop the Bainbridge House together now
Into a hotel to make their clients go "Wow!"

The house used to be an exclusive, huge family home
One in which the rich and famous used to party and roam.
As one family treasure after another are revealed,
So are secrets that were previously concealed.

With her oldest brother about to wed her best friend
Viola is determined to help and time to spend
Having the kitchens set up just right
So all the meals will be the best on the night.

Dom Shaw's the caretaker and grew up there
And the attraction between him and Viola is rare.
Both state they just want to be friends
But who knows where their romance might end?

This is a story of a special family working together
Of memories, opportunities, mysteries and pleasure.
A tale of heartwarming romance
And daring to take a fresh chance.

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

This is a Christmas Romance, and this is the second book in the Bainbridge House series. This book's beginning was slow to get going, and I felt a lot of the book was more about the backstory of this family more then the romance between the two main characters. I loved the character development in this book, but I did not enjoy the romance in this book. I did love the ending. This is a cute story with a lot about food, so you should not read this book if you are hungry. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Special Edition) or author (Rochelle Alers) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Christmas at the Château by Rochelle Alers.
Mills & Boon True Love
Bainbridge House, Book 2.
Executive chef Viola Williamson must have the kitchen up and running by the time the Bainbridge House restoration is complete. Working closely with Dom Shaw, Viola is struck by her attraction to her family estate’s handsome caretaker. It’s obvious that he feels it, too—yet Dom keeps his distance. Can Viola convince him that with all this cooking going on, he’s the only one stirring her heart?
A good read with good characters. Likeable story. 4*.

This was an enjoyable easy romantic book. It takes place before and after Christmas. Other than that it wasn’t really a Christmasy book. It was full of romance and everything you come to expect from this publisher. I enjoyed the story.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.

Christmas at the Château is a sweet, cozy read, perfect for this holiday season. While it is the second of a series, I didn’t feel lost, and was easily able to become invested in the cast of characters and the environs of Bainbridge House.

The family relationships were definitely central to the book, and I really liked that. I did feel that this specific story would have benefited from more page time to be able to both flesh that out and center the romance.

Speaking of which, that is most likely the reason I struggled to get invested in Viola and Dom as a couple. There’s a few remarks in the book about the slow pace of the romance, but I ultimately felt that it didn’t contribute to me feeling more for them.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I hoped, but it’s a sweet read that I would recommend if you need a bit of holiday cheer this year.

Chef Viola is readying the Bainbridge House restaurant for its grand opening. Working alongside her is Dom, the estate's caretaker. She can see that he's as attracted to her as she is to him. But after a disastrous marriage, he's not interested in a romantic relationship. And family secrets threaten to tear them even further apart.

This is a low-angst, family-oriented romance. The couple from the previous book play a large role, so it's best to read the series in order.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Tis' the season for Christmas romances and this book serves both Christmas cheer and a great plot. Christmas at the Chateau is book 2 in the Bainbridge House Book Series and is a multicultural romance *whoop* . The book follows executive Chef who is pumped to be her friend's and brother's maid of honor and if that isn't enough they ask her to be the chef in charge of the food at the wedding. However love finds you when you least expect it and that's what happens between her and caretaker Dom Shaw. Oh mayn, watching these two people fall in love while serving Christmas cheer is what everyone needs. Highly recommend!

CHRISTMAS AT THE CHATEAU (Bainbridge House Book #2) by Rochelle Alers is a holiday contemporary multicultural romance and the second book in the Bainbridge House series. It can be read as a standalone, but there is crossover with the H/h from book one who are this book’s heroine’s brother and best friend.

Viola Williamson has worked hard for years to earn her title as chef. When she is passed over for promotion one too many times at her current Michelin star restaurant, she decides to accept the position as Executive chef for the family’s Bainbridge House when it is fully restored and running. She is excited about being her best friend’s maid of honor for her Christmas wedding and being the head chef for their reception.

Dominic “Dom” Shaw has worked as the caretaker for Bainbridge House since his father’s retirement. Dom has been burned in love before, but he cannot seem to keep away from the new Executive chef.

Neither is looking for love, but the attraction grows as they work together to get the kitchen up and running for the wedding and Dom has a secret that could change everything.

I did enjoy this story with the descriptions of the renovations of Bainbridge House, the amazing descriptions of food throughout the story and the backstories of both Dom and Viola’s families. While I enjoyed these descriptions, the romance was slow to start and did not really pick up or become the focus of the book until halfway through. That said, I did feel it progressed and grew at a realistic pace since both were romance adverse. There is just one short sex scene and it is not explicit. The twist before the ending with Viola’s mother was a surprise because I was expecting Dom’s secret to be the final twist.

I am looking forward to the other brother’s romance stories to come.

3.5 out of 5 Stars (Round up)

Viola and Dom's story is a wonderful addition to Rochelle Alers' Bainbridge series. Viola is starting a new chapter in her career as a chef as she gets to plan running her own restaurant at the Bainbridge estate that her family is restoring. I loved the twists and turns as we continue to learn about the Bainbridges and their interactions with others on the estate both in the past and now in the present. Dom Shaw is an intriguing character with lots of layers. I enjoyed seeing Viola and Dom's relationship evolve from friendship to something more and the brief time with some of her siblings whets your appetite to anticipate future books in the Bainbridge series. This book is another winner from Rochelle Alers.
