I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the begining to the very last page. Lara is a single mother and her grown up daughter Eliza is soon to turn 18. What she didn't account for was Eliza questioning more details on her birth Father. As far as Eliza is aware Steve is her Father and he is largely absent from her life. When Eliza gets a bombshell dropped regarding her real father it sets off a chain reaction and both her and Lara have no clue how things will turn out.

Now don't get me wrong I have read this kind of story over the years in a variety of ways and there was absolutely nothing wrong with this story, but it's just wasn't a book that I was blown away with. That small niggle aside Lucy Diamond has a real knack with storytelling and I was absolutely compelled to find out what happens with both Lara and Eliza. I wasn't overly keen on Eliza as a character which is unusual (normally I am a fan of characters LD creates) but the story and writing totally made the book worthwhile.

Overall a very enjoyable and escapist kind of read, and it's made me ensure all my unread ucy Diamond books get pushed further up the 'to-read' pile.

I've had a few of Lucy's books on my list to read for a while now, but this was my first and it didn't disappoint!

An interesting book which I'm sure a lot of people can relate to; wondering about The One Who Got Away. Only in this case, that very person ends up back in Lara's life.
But can the reality really live up to the perfect memory or have they been remembered with rose tinted glasses? In this book, Lara finds this out.

I really liked the mother daughter relationship between Lara and Eliza, the few twists along the way and the opportunity for second chances.

Thank you to Netgalley, Quercus Books and the author for the review copy, provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

absolutely LOVED Lucy Diamond’s latest book, “Anything Could Happen”. I am a fan of Lucy’s work but I think this book is currently my favourite. The reader is whisked off to New York (twice) Scarborough, Cambridge and Edinburgh. There are missed chances of happiness, which give the story a “sliding doors” element, and twists which cause the reader to doubt the outcome you are expecting and hoping for. The main characters are totally believable and engaging. I particularly enjoyed the close mother daughter relationship throughout the book. The book explores the importance of the different types of loves that we have in our lives; parents, sisters, friends and partners. I totally recommend you read it!

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

I am a huge fan of this author and find her books to be pure escapism. This story had me hooked in straight away, I just couldn’t put it down. It is a lovely romantic read full of hope and second chances. I especially liked the close relationship between the mother and daughter. Would definitely highly recommend this book.

A clever book by Lucy Diamond at its heart a book about mothers and daughters and secrets and half truths can almost destroy a relationship . When Eliza wants to find out about her dad and finds out things she wasn’t expecting, her mother Lara tries to explain her motives not always getting things right. Where she has to face her past and things she didn’t really want to have to think about again . A really good read where things don’t always turn out like you expect them to

Follow the history of sliding door moments of missed opportunities.

A great will they, won't they romance read. Cleverly written, keeps you hooked.

Based on Lara's relationship with the one who got away. Her daughter Eliza reignites history when she wants to know and meet her father.

Can we ever go back and recapture things lost. Lara and Ben navigate parenthood when he finds out he has a daughter and they both realise there is still something between them.

Happiness, heart break and second chances.

As always Lucy Diamond does not disappoint. I loved everything about this book. I felt like I was travelling alongside the protagonist discovering her family and in finding who she is along the way. I read this in one sitting it is so good. I was sad to finish it though but since have purchased the actual book so I can read it over and over again.

Thanks to NetGalley and Quercus Books for letting me read this one for an honest review.
This is actually my first time reading a Lucy
Diamond book and I don’t think it will be my last!
Anything Could Happen started off with a really good beginning that was in a prologue. After reading that I knew I was going to enjoy it.
The story contains two big secrets hidden by Lara, one of the main characters, surprise you have a daughter, surprise your dad isn't your dad, a possible car theft, possible second chances and humour..
The characters are easy to like especially the daughter Eliza because in my opinion she made the story funnier with her ideas and thoughts.
I recommend this romantic feel-good book to those readers that just want an easy romantic feel-good without any spicy scenes in it but also to you who usually read romantic feel-goods with spicy scenes in it because it was a cute and funny likeable read.

I went into this book not really knowing what to expect, sometimes I find the reading experience is better not knowing what is to come. I loved the first half of this book, I flew through the chapters and eagerly wanted to see how it turned out. Unfortunately the second half left me a little disappointed. I found myself getting irritated by Lara and that spoilt the read for me.

What an amazing book! A wholesome, cute story. It is family focused while still having a romance aspect. Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC.

This was a wonderful read packed full of emotion and feelings as secrets are revealed. Its always just been Lara and Eliza but Eliza now wants answers as she grows up and so in a way does Lara. Eliza is strong willed and determined and sets off to get her answers, dragging Lara into the mix as they go off on unforgettable adventures.

I loved this story of second chances and how life can pan out, it considers what ifs, what happens and missed chances too and it really was a great experience to read this.

Thanks ever so much for the opportunity review this book, its been a pleasure to read. Lucy Diamond is a favourite of mine and I thoroughly enjoyed this book . While it was a slower paced book it certainly didn't take away from Diamond's magic. A book about discovery, family and love this is not one to miss.

Thanks to Quercus Books, Netgalley and the author for an ARC of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Things I enjoyed - cute characters, interesting premise and a light, well-paced read.

Things I did not enjoy as much - the writing felt a bit clunky, the story was formulaic at times and I didn't really connect with the love story between Lara and Ben.

This was a nicer read and was good for the short plane ride I was on to pass the time, but I could guess where the story was going.

This is a solid 3 star read.
