A lovely story about missed chances, new beginnings and discovering what makes you happy.

I got this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the type of book I wish I could write, It had everything; yes, you know how it's going to end but there are many twists and turns on the way. Just when you think you know the complete story another bombshell comes along and makes you re-evaluate your theories of who did what & why
I strongly recommend this book and would like to thank Netgalley for the advance copy

I love Lucy Diamond’s books, and this one does not disappoint! I feel like I’ve been on an emotional rollercoaster of a ride at the end of this book - totally exhausted and wrung out with the beautiful story of Lara, Eliza and Ben along with all of the supporting cast. I really don’t want to give anything away, as the story is full of surprises, up’s as well as downs, but suffice to say, what would you do if, after nineteen years, you came face to face with someone you thought was the love of your life but who disappeared after one unforgettable night in New York?? Intriguing, happy, sad as well as a journey from Scarborough to New York, via Cambridge. Wonderful and highly recommended……..

As the title suggests, Anything could happen, and you feel that many times whilst reading this book. Lara & Ben meet up whilst in New York, both think, even after just one night, they each think they have found their soul mate, but fate may just have other ideas. Move forward 18 years and this is where we catch up with them again. This story is warm, funny, sad but above all, hope and happiness.

This was an enjoyable read, about missed chances and twists of fate. Although I did enjoy the story it did take me a while to get into and I am not sure why. The premise of the story is really good and I did like the characters, it just felt it took a long time to wind up and get going. Having said that, once it did get going I enjoyed it, especially the ending.

Lara and Eliza, her daughter get on fine until the truth comes out about her father and things get complicated when Lara has to tell her the truth. I liked Lara and Eliza, they are well-written characters and quite relatable too. I enjoyed seeing Lara's character change over time and her come out of herself as her relationships changed too. The story takes place in New York, Scarborough and Cambridge, so you get about a bit too, which was nice. As well as being written on two-time lines, so you get Lara and Ben's full story.

For me this isn't one of Lucy Diamond's best stories, I usually find them hard to put down and this one had me a little frustrated and wanting it to get going. So I struggled to engage with the story in the first half of the book. However, it is a well written, entertaining story that had me wanting to find out the outcome.

Another great read from Lucy diamond! A tale of missed opportunities and second chances!
Lara and Ben met in New York, had an instant spark/connection after spending a romantic all consuming night together, agreeing to meet the next evening, however circumstances conspire against them and they don’t meet!
Lara finds herself pregnant and alone despite attempts to contact Ben and brings her daughter Eliza up as a single parent.
Eliza on reaching eighteen decides to find her father, but rather than do it in a considered manner rushes into everything with several consequences!
Ultimately Eliza has that childhood dream of a family unit comprising of the three of them and tries in Her unsubtle way to matchmaker!
The ensuing read shows that true love wins, the road may be long and hard but ultimately worth the ride!
Lovely heartfelt read.
Thank you netgalley for this early read.

I really enjoyed this book by Lucy Diamond, Lara is 26, working in NYC on a magazine, one night she meets Ben and they click straightaway, after a great night they arrange to meet the following day however Ben never arrives…. Fast forward 18 years and Lara is a driving instructor & single mum living in the UK with her 18 year old daughter Eliza.

Lara has been lying to Eliza all these years about who her father is & Eliza is keen to track him down,…whereas Lara isn’t sure she is ready to face the past!

I enjoyed Laras journey of self ‘rediscovery’ and warmed to her early on, Eliza was a bit of brat to start & Ben was just own to earth lovely,,,

I would have liked a bit more drama, it was all too easy however still a great read.

Thanks to the publisher & netgalley for an ARC of this book.

A really lovely read. I loved what it had to say about family and living the life you want to live rather than the one you are stuck with.

I always look forward to new releases by Lucy Diamond and have read all her previous books.
This one tells the story of Lara and daughter Eliza. Eliza discovers that the man she thought was her dad actually isn't, which leads Lara to admit the story of how she met her dad in New York but it didn't turn out the way she hoped.
This was an enjoyable read but not my favourite.

A lovely happy read, fans of Lucy Diamond’s previous work will love this! Eliza is desperate to find her real dad, a man who her mum had a one night stand with in New York 18 years before - mum Lara however is less keen to track down ancient history! The ending was somewhat inevitable but still an enjoyable lighthearted read.

I absolutely loved loved this wonderful read by Lucy Diamond.

Mum Lara has hidden away the truth of her father from daughter Eliza for the past 18 years.

In a quest to track down a man from New York all those years ago anything could happen!!!

What a fantastic story, I really enjoyed the characters and the humor side some real funny moments.

A real enjoyable book that I highly recommend

I was in the mood for an escapist and engrossing read, and Lucy Diamond can always be relied on to provide it! Anything Could Happen tells the story of driving instructor and single mum Lara and her teenage daughter Eliza, dealing with the fallout when Eliza learns that the man she thought she was her father - who walked out when she was young - actually isn't. Instead, Eliza is the daughter of a man Lara met and immediately fell for during a brief period in New York before circumstances intervened to separate them. Ben, the man in question, is now married to Kirsten, a midwife, and has no idea of the changes that are about to be unleashed on his life...

Lucy Diamond's account of the impact of these changes on everybody's lives is believable and highly readable, as the characters struggle with the making and breaking of relationships.

A very enjoyable read, recommended,

I absolutely adored this fabulous read by Lucy Diamond, although it did make my hands ache! Why? Because I had my fingers crossed from practically the very first page. Just when I thought I'd figured out what was going to happen along came another twist... and another...

Romantic, uplifting and ultimately satisfying. A total joy!

I enjoyed reading this book and will look forward to more by this author. A romance that has spanned 19 years between Ben and Lara. Not it all that seems and when they meet again what will reignite.

I have to admit that Lucy Diamond is an author whose books I read without reading the blurb - I've yet to be disappointed and this book was no different.

She has a clever way of writing that you feel empathy with all of the characters -even those who aren't really the focus of the story.

My favourite character was Eliza, the fearless daughter of Lana. She had a lot of qualities I'm sure people would like to see in their own children.

A definite 5 star read for me, I'm already looking forward to Lucy's next book!

I always enjoy this author’s books and this one certainly lived up to expectations.

Ben and Lara met in New York City 19 years ago. All it took was one night for an unforgettable spark to ignite.

Now Ben is married to Kristen and Lara is a single mum to 18 year old Eliza. When Eliza discovers her dad is not who she thought he was, she sets in motion a sequence of events that will throw all their lives into disarray.

Excellent storyline. Great mix of characters. An easy and entertaining read.

Absolutely perfect. I didn’t want it to end, or to put it down.
A lovely story that left me choked up and happy. It had me hooked from the beginning.
The characters are so well written. I completely changed my mind about Eliza, thinking she was bratty and horrible, only to see her grow and develop. I adored Lara and Ben and was willing them on every step of the way.
