HOLD THE PHONE- This was just a sample but WHOA! (Kinda mad that I got invested in some of the descriptions and they're cut off- give me more please! )

The photography is STUNNING and breathtaking. The book layout is grouped by geographical location, which I found to actually be brilliant- instead of being clumped alphabetically by state or name. If you live (or are planning to visit) a specific area, finding a park would be a breeze. Each park lists the state you'll find it in and a rich description of its history and how it was founded/named/formed. What I also found extremely cool was that there is a snippet of park information that helps maximize your visit- such as: size, best time to go, year established, and the in-park accommodations (if there is lodging, camping, etc). Another feature I thought was a great addition was info on if the park or area is known for something (a landmark, unique wildlife). I'd love to visit a park that offers its own unique flora and fauna and actually KNOW what to look for.

Initially I thought this was a coffee-table type book where it gave some brief details on the parks while showcasing these gorgeous landscape photos but it was SO much more. Very educational and informative- and the layout screams 'VISIT ME, BECAUSE' to its readers by making everything accessible and easy-to-use. I would love to tell you more about what this offers but the preview was very limited so you'll have to take my word on how cool this and grab it to see for yourself!

I've already added this to my wishlist and I DESPERATELY hope my family orders me a copy! I will definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in traveling and exploring our beautiful country!

I enjoyed this tantalizing sample of National Geographic's coffee table book on 100 great American parks. Broken down by geographic region, each entry contains the name of the park, where it's located, brief history/background of the park, and absolutely gorgeous photographs. The narrative also includes standard information on each park: size, year founded, and accommodations. This book is deal for both actual and armchair travelers. #100GreatAmericanParks #NetGalley

With 100 GREAT AMERICAN PARKS, Stephanie Pearson shares information, photographs, and stories that remind me of the parks I know and love as well as intrigue me to explore others I have not visited. This is a glorious book guaranteed a permanent place on my bookshelf, well-used and referred to again and again. I received an advance copy of this book and these opinions are my own unbiased thoughts.

100 Great American Parks by Stephanie Pearson is a very interesting book. My ARC was just a few pages instead of the whole thing, but it showed pictures and told history about the parks. It also gave tips such as when is best to visit. Looks like a very nice book.

National Geographic is the premiere authority on American wildlife and nature’s imagery. 100 Great American Parks is divided into 5 sections and gives little-known detailed information about the area’s history via those who have spoken or have written about the areas. The photos lure you into each park and you never want to leave. It also lists the parks by state and includes conservation of the parks.

The photos themselves are stunning. Those, along with the narrative, make me want to see the parks in person.

I received a limited copy of this book for my opinion.

I plan on visiting some national parks this year and I was so excited to see this book available so I could read up on some of them before my trips. The pictures were great, the information was really helpful, and I want an actual copy of this book now. I know so many people will like this book. This is going on Holiday lists this year. I would recommend it. 5 out of 5 stars.

Beautiful photos and layout. However not a lot of detail, just a quick overview of the history of the park. Think coffee table book vs guide book.

What attracts me most to this book is the parks given recognition aren’t your typical famous National Parks. More unique dives, however you’ll have to do a majority of the legwork yourself if you want more than a Cliff’s Notes synopsis.

Most parks are given 2-4 pages total, half photos and half written descriptions. Again- gorgeously laid out photographs, with a short synopsis of the park.

Oh how I wish I could give this a better review. However I only received a partial preview to review for NetGalley so I hope the full book is as good as the preview.

100 Great American Parks

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the digital ARC of this book. I was excited to see the full version but only received a sample so it's hard for me to evaluate how good the finished copy will be. I was provided a sample that only had 10 pages, 2 of which were the front and back covers. I saw snippets about the following parks: Yosemite National Park (CA), Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness (ID), Cape Cod National Seashore (MA), Central Park (NY), and the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail (AL). Given that this book is expected to be printed with 400 pages, my sample is too slight for me to give an unreserved endorsement despite its potential of meriting 5 stars.

I have purchased a copy for the library and I know it will be appreciated.

Beautifully photographed new book published by National Geographic that present 100 of the many amazing natural wonders, historic sites, seashores, and wildernesses across the United States. This was a galley from Net Galley, and unfortunately, only 7 parks were included in this sample for review. From what I saw, the layout is nice (large format color photographs, many full page), with fairly engaging text and side bars with additional information. It's divided geographically, and as the entire list of parks is not presented not he Table of Contents, it's impossible to tell if the book focuses on the most popular national parks and monuments, or if it details some of the smaller and less well known parks. This is the first time an advanced reader copy obtained from net Galley did not include the entire book for review, and I must say I'm disappointed. It's National Geographic, so we can assume the quality is high, but if you opt not to provide the entire book, why not just rely on your reputation alone/ And full disclosure--I worked on projects funded by National Geographic, although that was over 30 years ago.

This review is for a sample of this book. I can’t wait to see the book when it is published.

Travelers will enjoy the opportunity to visit or revisit their favorite national parks. This looks like a fantastic book. There are gorgeous photos and interesting text about the parks. I saw pages on everything from New York’s Central Park to the National Historic Trail that goes from Selma to Montgomery. It gives me such admiration for the U.S. park system.

Many thanks to NetGalley and National Geographic for this wonderful title. All opinions are my own.

This title will be published on 10 May 2022.

Beautiful pictures and simple highlights of some the most amazing parks to visit in the US. The book also provides some helpful travel information (though not as much as a travel guide - this is more of an inspirational "idea" book - I'd go elsewhere for actual travel planning). This is a wonderful book to open up, flip to a page, learn a bit about an amazing park somewhere in the country and start some inspired travel daydreaming!

The parts of this book that I saw was just breathtaking. The photographs were amazing of the parks. Although I wish the sample included more pages, the parts I did see where phenomenal. Thanks to the publisher for allowing me to review an ARC sample of part of the book on NetGalley.

This is a teaser limited introduction to the content of the book. For the few brief sections highlighted it was interesting and informative. The photography was also of a very good quality. I can only assume that the whole book will be just as good.

I received a free Kindle copy of this book courtesy of Net Galley and the publisher with the understanding that I would post a review on Net Galley, Goodreads, Amazon, Facebook and my nonfiction book review blog.

I'm so ready to travel again, after being locked down for so long in the pandemic that began in 2020. Now I'm inspired to visit as many American parks as I can. 100 Great American Parks by Stephanie Pearson and National Geographic includes beautiful photos and wonderful essays about American parks. It also includes travel tips.

I recommend this gorgeous book to travel enthusiasts, nature lovers, and photographers.

This is both an informational as well as a beautiful book on our Nation's parks.

Stephanie provides a short commentary on each park showcased in this book which includes historical references, quick tips and areas you shouldn't miss. Pertinent information for the park visitor: size of park, year established, best time to visit and if in-park accommodations are offered are highlighted for each park. Gorgeous photographs complete the full package.

A beautiful coffee table book, yet will be used by many once it becomes available May of 2022. I look forward to getting a copy of the hardback version for our home.

Thank you NetGalley and National Geographic for a sample of this book in exchange for an honest review.
