One of Kelley's strengths is being able to build tiny little worlds that readers can drop in and out of when they want. Even though I hadn't read the previous novels in the series, I was able to listen to Nantucket News and feel like I hadn't missed anything. In fact, I enjoyed the low stakes world of this community so much, I'm ready to go back and read books 1 to 5.

This was my first Pamela M. Kelley novel and I did like it.

Taylor Abbott is a new reporter for the newspaper in Nantucket and staying at an inn until her cottage is ready. She is enjoying her new job and making friends there, but she's also starting to fall for her boss.

While navigating everything new, there is also rumors that a celebrity is in town that she happens to score an interview with rocketing her career since the story goes viral.

Nothing earth shattering happens and no big drama in relationships which was a nice change of pace. It was just a very nice story of a young adult fulfilling part of her dreams and being successful at it. Kelley created a welcoming and enjoyable story and I will read more in the series.

Another Nantucket stand out from Pamela M. Kelley!

Taylor moves from Charleston to Nantucket. Her college roommate, Abby, lives there so she at least knows someone! She's rented a cute little cottage but it won't be ready so she'll stay at the inn that Abby's mom runs! How perfect!

Rhett, restaurant owner, 1st ever guest at the inn and Lisa's husband, has discovered some missing funds at his restaurant. It's hard for him to believe that this could happen, and could happen to him. He thought he had a great crew.

Rumors of a celebrity are flying around, Taylor is on it! Victoria, Taylor's more seasoned work partner has to reign her in a little bit and it works out in her favor.

This book is a great read when you just want something homey, full of food, and nice wholesome characters. I listened to it via Netgalley, and the narrator is very soothing. I hate that I listened to it so fast, as now I have to wait for the next one! #NantucketNews #NetGalley

A lovely addition to this series. Some old characters, some new. The story feels familiar and comfortable and yet new and wonderful. This story primarily revolves around the local newspaper with some romance, an inevitable HEA and a wonderful story. Looking forward to the next in the series.

I love that some characters from older books keep showing up and some still have major parts in the plot. It is getting to be a lot of characters to keep track of. Nantucket News mainly centers around characters that work at the local newspaper office. The different characters and how they go about reporting stories was interesting. Some definitely had a little higher moral compass than others in how they perceived their rights to pictures and printing things. The main character, Taylor, was a very likeable character.

I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Leslie Howard. The narration was excellent and very enjoyable to listen to!

I was gifted a copy of this audiobook via NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Nantucket News by Pamela M. Kelley
Narrated by Leslie Howard
Publisher: Pamela M. Kelley
Genre: Romance, Women's Fiction
Publication Date: October 28, 2021

Nantucket News by Pamela M. Kelley is the 7th book in the Nantucket Beach Plum Cove series. This romance can easily be read as a standalone romance. I have not read any of the previous books in the series and I loved every minute of this one.

My introduction to Pamela Kelley's Nantucket was through reading The Hotel, so I really enjoyed returning with Nantucket News.

I really enjoyed this story. I thought the characters were fascinating and the story was captivating! It moves quickly and is filled with wonderful people, interesting experiences, family, finding love and happiness.

The narration by Leslie Howard was great! She did a great job giving each character their own voice and brought the story to life.

This book would make a lovely beach read, or any kind of read, and I highly recommend it!

I'm so grateful to Joanne Fluke, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

Young journalist, Taylor Abbott, decides to follow her best friend, Abby Hodges’ advice and apply for a position at the local Nantucket newspaper and is surprised but excited to receive it. This installment of the Beach Plum Cove series follows her adjustment to Island life and brings back some familiar characters from past books.

Nantucket News was easy to listen to, like the narrator was talking directly to me and telling me a story. Nantucket is on my bucket list of places to visit and listening made me even more determined to go one day with the beautiful descriptions of the sights, restaurants and people on the Island. The plenitude of characters started as confusion, but after a few chapters they became like friends to me. Daytime soap opera fans will love these books!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance audiobook of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Pamela M. Kelley for an advance audio copy of this book. This is Book 7 of 7 of the Nantucket Beach Plum Cove series. This is a series about innkeeper Lisa Hodges and her adult children. In this book the reader is introduced to Taylor, a friend from daughter Abby’s college years. Taylor has moved to Nantucket for a job as a reporter on the local paper. She develops a crush on her boss which, as in all feel good romances, is reciprocated. This book is peopled with relatable and multidimensional characters. There are even some sweet pets as well! The narrator has a pleasant voice and the book flows smoothly. This is a warm and uplifting series set in a beautiful location. For those readers new to the series, I suggest starting with Book 1 and reading the books in order. Getting to know all the characters as they grow and develop over time will definitely add to the enjoyment of the series. Looking forward to Book 8!

To me, this book reads like a few weeks in the life of the people that live on Nantucket year round, and it is a pleasant read, but it doesn’t have the typical format of what I look for in a book. The narrator was pleasant to listen to, and did a good job narrating the story, however, there was no real plot, and I didn’t feel driven to know what happens next. If you are looking to read about Nantucket, and maybe dreaming of a life where you get to live there year round, and want to escape, this could be the audiobook for you.

If you enjoy any of the Nantucket series by Pamela Kelley you will enjoy the newest addition. A sweet story I devoured in a day.

Another wholesome, feel good romance set on Nantucket. I enjoy the characters in this series and there is always enough romance without all the steam. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator.

This is an entertaining, realistic story with wonderful characters. The authors description of Nantucket Island makes me want to vacation there. Pamela Kelley is fast becoming one of my go to authors. Her books are always sweet, clean and very entertaining - a must when I am looking for a new book. There is drama included as well as romance. This book has it all. Excellent narration by Leslie Howard. Recommended for all of the above reasons.

“Nantucket News” by Pamela Kelley
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Netgalley Audiobook 🎧

I enjoyed this one, but didn’t love it. This book has a lot of characters, which a can be confusing on audio. I do love the overlap and recurring characters from Kelley’s other books without being a series.

Taylor Abbott moves from Charleston to Nantucket for a job at the local newspaper. She believes it is her shot at reporting and success. Another benefit is living close to her best friend of ten years Abby Hodges. Taylor stays at the Beach Plum Inn while she is waiting for her cottage to be ready. While she is cruising the town she hears rumors of famous Candy Carmichael shooting on island. She has so many ideas of a perfect story. Follow Taylors journey adjusting to her new life on the island and her dream job.

It was lovely to return to this book series with its likeable and relatable characters.  The series focuses around Lisa and the Beach Plum Cove Inn as well as her family and other members of the community.

Taylor Abbott is an enthusiastic and eager young woman looking to build her reporting career.  There is definitely an attraction between herself and her boss which builds as the story progresses.  Taylor’s co-worker Victoria, is a more seasoned reporter and sets up the book for a discussion on the role of the press when it comes to celebrities and other public figures.  There are newspaper team-building moments at the Friday Night trivia at a local bar which provides an opportunity to learn more about the newspaper’s characters.

Rhett is Lisa’s husband and owns one of the restaurants on the island.  He’s been noticing that the nightly receipts aren’t quite adding up to his expectations.  His quest to discover who is stealing from him was done respectfully and provided a good mystery to the storyline.

Abby has a storyline that is unfortunately relatable to many women and I appreciate that it was included in this book.  I appreciate how Abby welcomed Taylor to town and included her in many of her regular activities.  It’s always fun for me to read what other women’s groups get up to!

The food described throughout this book will have you craving some seafood.  The recipes all sound delicious and definitely something I would like to indulge in. Community events such as the Daffodil Festival really make me want to visit.

All in all, a really good read that has me wanting to go back and read books 3-6.  I also look forward to book 8 in this series.

I listened to the audiobook version of Nantucket News which was narrated by Leslie Howard who gives a great performance.  Her voice is clear and crisp, and her tone is very pleasing to listen to.  For those readers who enjoy audiobooks, I would not hesitate to choose this format of the book.

I love Pamela Kelley's Nantucket series. She makes me feel like one of the family. They are very easy to read or listen to. I enjoy the characters and they make you feel happy inside! I also enjoy how she takes characters from different books and brings them into this series so the reader knows what happened to them. Another great book! Thanks NetGalley.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was a little confused on some of the characters only to discover at the end this is part of a series. Definitely going to check out the first books in this series. Great read without having read the previous books.

If you've read the other Nantucket books by this author, you will enjoy connecting with what feels like old friends. If you've not read any of the previous books, this book can easily be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

This is a delightful, heartwarming story of those we've met previously, along with some new residents of Nantucket. There is of course an element of romance, a bit of a mystery when it is suspected that money and food are mysteriously missing from a restaurant, and Bella, who is actually a movie star is filming a movie in Nantucket and it appears she has made Nantucket her home.

This is a heartwarming story, that left me hoping there will be yet another book in these charming Nantucket books.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.

This is the comfort reading. Pamela M. Kelley writes cozy, clean books, that focus on family, friends, food and romance. There are a lot of people to keep track of but it comes fairly easily.

The basic storylines in this are:
Taylor Abbott moves to the island to work as a junior reporter for the local newspaper. She really likes her boss but doesn't feel it would be acceptable to date him.
Rhett suspects theft at his restaurant.
Marley's ex is coming to attend a conference on the island and wants a second chance. She isn't interested but it creates a blip of a drama in her new romance.

But while those stories are happening you attend family cookouts, parades, trivia contests, needlepoint class etc. And I don't think Kelley ever mentions food without giving a full description. Every appetizer, entree, hors d'oeuvre, sauce, dessert and wine pairing is listed. And strangely it is very addicting. The whole book to me was like watching a gentle soap opera in a good way. You're a part of the lives of these people.

I enjoyed listening to novel. Leslie Howard's narration flows smoothly and the characters are easy to distinguish by her voice. I also found this is the kind of story I could easily do other tasks while listening. This is part of her Nantucket Beach Plum Cover series of which there are at least six listed on Goodreads. But it starts with an appearance by Nick and Bella from The Hotel (which I have read), so I'm confused if that should be listed as part of this series as well. Any hoo... I'd recommend for those who like clean, comfort reads. Especially if you want a new series. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Dreamscape Media for an audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Taylor moves to Nantucket for a new job, her dream job as a junior reporter, and to be closer to her friend. She finds out she is one of two hires and the other hire, Victoria, has much more experience and different style. There are a lot of different stories going on here and at times I found myself trying to keep them straight (the secondary ones) but the one between Taylor and Blake, her boss, develops slowly and when it seems to be heating up he finds a solution. This was like cotton candy, sugar sweet but satisfying.
