I enjoyed this audiobook! It was narrated by Leslie Howard, who has such a warm and pleasant voice that was perfect for this story.
It follows the lives of several characters, but the main focus is on Taylor Abbott, who is new to Nantucket and just starting a job at the local newspaper.
This is such a cozy read, and was almost as relaxing as a bubble bath! It’s rich in details—especially all the amazing descriptions of food (so much so, that I wish there could be a companion cookbook!). From workplace drama to dinner parties to trivia nights, I just really liked feeling immersed in these people’s lives.
Nantucket News is a part of the Beach Plum Cove series, of which I hadn’t read any other books. While I could definitely tell I was missing minor details and backstory from many of the characters, it didn’t detract from this book itself.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Nantucket News by Pamela M. Kelley
Narrator, Leslie Howard
This is the first book I have read by this author and apparently this novel is part of a series although it read well as a standalone. A nice light book of bouncing back. It's Spring on Nantucket and Charleston native, Taylor Abbott, has just relocated to the island for her dream job as a junior news reporter at the local paper. She's excited to live near her college roommate and best friend, Abby Hodges, and will be staying at her mother's Beach Plum Cove Inn initially. Taylor's new boss, Blake, is swoon-worthy, smart, and she enjoys spending time with him and her co-workers. She has to remind herself that it wouldn't be appropriate to get any romantic ideas though—after all, he is her immediate boss. Rhett discovers someone that works for him at his restaurant is a thief and tries to figure out who it is. Marley's ex has decided he wants her back and is flying out from San Francisco for a conference that she's also attending and wants to meet up. Abby meanwhile is dealing with an issue she thought she'd resolved. And rumor is there's a celebrity or two on the island and the media (including Taylor's co-worker, Victoria), is in hot pursuit to track them down.. It is a read that is not overly drama nor suspense just a nice read.

Pamela Kelley has done it again! It's really great to visit with the cast of characters that she created over the years. I feel like I know them. Her stories are interesting. The setting on Nantucket is a favorite place of mine. The food she describes sounds amazing. This is a feel good story with just enough suspens to keep it interesting. All in all a great series. This is book 7 of the Beach Plum Cove series and I can't wait for # 8! I believe this should be a television series. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator LesIie Howard has a very pleasant voice too. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this advance copy.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review…perhaps my problem is that I am not a verbal learner, and the narrator’s voice distracted me…I will try to read this one on Kindle or in print…the story seemed to be entertaining…

I found this series a while back while I was on a trip and I quickly listened to all of the available books. When I saw that this latest had come out, I knew I wanted to listen to it also.

Nantucket News follows many of the same family members around Nantucket - and we have a few new ones added in this book also. We learn about Victoria, who I thought started off as a horrible person only to end up liking her just a little. But the real story deals with Blake, who is running the local newspaper that his dad owns, and Taylor, who happens to be Abby’s college roommate and a Charleston native. Taylor takes a job at the newspaper to further her career. We have a little drama, love, clean romance and mystery (someone is stealing from Rhett’s restaurant). I love these stories because of their simplicity and sweetness.

I was provided an ARC of the audio copy in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

My daughter got me hooked on this series because she is interested in self published authors. I love it because it it full of food, wine, family and friends. They have some problems but they are not insurmountable and there is some mild romance but it isn’t the focus of the whole story. I look forward to the next one. Yes, it is a comfort read but I need one of those every so often.
This one has a couple of crossovers in Nick and Bella from the Hotel but you don’t have to have read that book to enjoy this one. However, it is best to begin this series at the beginning because there is a large cast of characters to get to know.
Thanks to Netgalley

Pamela Kelley’s latest book, Nantucket News is a must read for those that like the warm buzz of a Hallmark movie on a winter evening. It was a nice read, but I really don't care to read the next book in the series..
The literary equivalent of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
