Living very close to North Carolina, I always love to see a book that is realistically set in the small towns and back roads similar to ones I'm familiar with. Horror has always been my go to genre and it was excellent to read this book that blended both the familiar kinds of places with the chilling comfort of a good spooky read. I was drawn in by the plot of this book, where psychiatrists must work to cure patients, which isn't something normally done in the psych world as the goal is to help manage symptoms but rarely is there a cure. Plus with the looming threat of destruction on the horizon, this makes it even harder for them to work. I read this book quickly and I loved it. It was spooky and creepy and I really enjoyed every single page.
