A good page-turner with a disappointing end. Michael and Natalie Hart go to NYC for a vacation with their two young children. Michael goes out to pick up pizza and returns to find his wife & kids missing. Mike begins searching for his wife and the reader is left wondering if Natalie is running away from him for a reason or because she is delusional because of her insomnia. Told from both the husband's and wife's perspective. The reader is kept guessing until the end. 3 1/2 stars rounded up to 4 because of the ending.

This wasn't my favorite DJ Palmer book. I didn't connect to the characters like I have in previous books. It also had a lot of slow parts in the middle that seemed to be on repeat. However, it had great potential and I enjoyed the main story! I'll definitely keep reading D.J. Palmer books. Always a one click for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, D.J. Palmer and St.Martin's Press

I LOVED THIS! I was legit on the edge of my seat for this entire book and found the writing so easy to follow along with. Looking back, I saw some clues but would never have guessed the ending. If you like mystery and suspenseful reads with family drama, betrayal and secrets, DEFINITELY pick this one up!

Review of Uncorrected Digital Galley

A family vacation to New York City turns into a frantic search when Michael Hart’s wife, Natalie, and his two children, Addison and Bryce, vanish from the hotel. Michael is frantic, desperate to find his wife and children; a frenzied search throughout the hotel and its restaurants, as well as a check-in with the valet and concierge, proves fruitless. Calls to his wife’s phone go unanswered.

Could his family possibly be the victims of a kidnapping?

But both Natalie and Michael are keeping secrets, and it’s those very secrets that threaten to destroy them both.

=========

Taking place in both the present and the past, the story unfolds alternately from the viewpoints of Michael and Natalie. The slow revelation of the backstory, so important to the events taking place in the present, keeps the suspense building while the underlying tension helps to pull the reader into the telling of the tale.

Believable, nuanced characters, a twisty, compelling plot, the clever use of the effects of prolonged insomnia, and a fast pace all combine to tell a story of love and family, of deception, of secrets and lies. The pulse-pounding, heart-stopping moments will keep readers glued to the page until the explosive denouement they simply won’t see coming.

Highly recommended . . . don’t miss this one.

D.J. Palmer is one of my favorite authors, so of course I was excited to read My Wife Is Missing. His books are always 5-star reads for me, and this one was no different. This novel grabbed me from the first page, and it still hasn't let me go. My Wife Is Missing is full of twists and turns, and I didn't see the ending coming at all. I liked that the story was told from two different perspectives and that I was never quite sure who to believe. I highly recommend this incredible thriller...thanks to NetGalley, D.J. Palmer, and St. Martin's Press for giving the opportunity to read and review it. : )

WOW! That's all I have to say. This book captivated me from the first page and kept me engaged with all the twists and turns. I felt like I was in the novel working on the case with the detectives.

DJ Palmer has become a go to author for me and he did a great job ratcheting up the suspense right from the start. He pulls you in one direction as you root for wife and their two children as she tries to escape her husband.
She suspects him of cheating and knows he is lying to her. Fearfully, she takes the children and is on the run from him as she discovers secrets from his past. The husband is desperately trying to find her but is it out of love or something else? I don’t want to reveal too much about the plot but it is definitely a fast read and the author throws enough curves to keep you guessing. #MyWifeIsMissing #DJPalmer #NetGalley

Thanks to the publisher for granting my wish for this ARC.

I have read all of DJ Palmer's other books, and I immediately dove into this one. While I did feel it was a bit long-winded, it was still a decent read. I honestly didn't find it very "thrilling", maybe more of a domestic drama. I was ready for the book to be over, and the ending was drawn out much like the rest of the book. I do believe the book could have been half the length it was and still could've gotten the story across. This wasn't really for me, but I am sure others will love it.

DJ has done it again! Drawn in in just a few short pages, it was a tough one to put down! Natalie has been suffering from insomnia and her husband Michael thought a short vacation to New York City would help their strained marriage. After running out to grab a pizza, Michael is shocked to find that when he returns, Natalie and their two young children, Addie and Bryce have vanished from their hotel room. He immediately fears they have been kidnapped but after seeing security footage of them leaving willingly, he's left to question what in his past has come back to haunt him and what could his wife have learned? We come to find that Michael isn't quite who his wife thinks he is... but what has Natalie imagined in her exhausted state and what is real? I have to admit I wasn't even close to having a clue as to where this was going!? Full of twists and turns, it kept me on the edge of my seat, dying to know what comes next! Highly recommended read and author!

The exciting mysterious story of a wife that thinks her husband has committed murder and his chase to find her and his children to explain. So now The Wife Is Missing.
So many why and how questions going through my mind reading this book.
While it does gets bogged down a bit and moved slowly during the chase, for me, it is a great book.
This is a definitely a made for tv book!

A woman goes missing with her two children. Her husband is left baffled and without a clue of where they’ve gone. As he searches for his family, he realizes some of his past secrets may come back to haunt him.

My Wife Is Missing was a quick read and full of suspense. I didn’t think it was that thrilling, but I enjoyed the alternating timelines from past to present as well as switching between the points of view of the husband and wife. I picked up on the twists a bit early which did make the ending not as satisfactory for me.

The added layers of who is an unreliable narrator and who can the reader trust made this a solid psychological thriller. While I did predict the ending, it was still a page-turner that I didn’t want to put down.

3.5 stars rounded up. The story was fine and the characters were fairly solid. The biggest complaint is if you read this genre, you'll know exactly where the story is heading.

My Wife is Missing by D.J. Palmer sets the tone right off the bat!
Michael and Natalie are trying to resolve marital problems by going on a family trip to NYC. Natalie sends Michael off on a pizza run, when he returns to the hotel he discovers that his wife and kids are missing. Natalie is suffering with insomnia, paranoia, hallucinations and thoughts of Michael having an affair.
Convinced at first that they've been kidnapped, he reports their disappearance to the police, which leads him on a chase across the country to find them. After finally finding his family, who’s story do you believe?? The ending of this story made me stop and really thing of what I just read! I finished this ARC in 24 hours because I was unable to put it down once I started it! I would like to thank DJ Palmer and St. Martin Press for allowing me to read this ARC and give my hones review. I look forward to many more books by DJ Palmer  #MyWifeIsMissing  @stmartinspress @djpalmerauthor

This book is another great read from Palmer! This thriller has more jaw-dropping twists and turns than a roller coaster. Michael's wife is missing. Was she kidnapped? Did she run away? Did he kill her? As Michael races to solve his problems in the present, his past keeps jumping up.

Aided (or surveilled) by a police detective, Michael races around the country in a desperate attempt to find his family and clear his name of murder, if indeed he is innocent.

I want to comment more on the plot but I definitely don't want to give anything away. The reveals are just too good to spoil. Don't start reading unless you have lots of time because it's almost impossible to put down.

Many thanks to DJ Palmer, Netgalley, and the publisher for the ARC.

Michael and Natalie are taking their two children on a family trip to New York City! After a late arrival, Michael runs out to get dinner and returns to…nothing and no one. His family is gone. Natalie is an insomniac, and he worries that she’s not in her right mind and his children are in danger…

Meanwhile, Natalie hasn’t slept well in quite some time after fearing her husband’s actions behind her back. She feels exhausted, unreliable, and suspicious — but most of all, she feels like she needs to get away from Michael. Are her fears real or imagined, and will the past catch up with this couple as they both run in the present?

This was a fun and engaging read; I read very quickly to find out what would happen next! I found the plot engaging and twisty enough to fuel my excitement. The final twist I found to be a bit unbelievable and out of left field, but it definitely WAS unexpected! Certainly nothing tired or overdone about this thriller. Overall, I’d certainly recommend this as an enjoyable new domestic thriller coming soon — a solid 4.5 star for me.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own!
