When Emma Jayne and Sarah were children, they played in an abandoned cabin in the woods. One day, one of their games went to far and somebody died. Emma Jayne was the only one charged and convicted. She spent the next several years in juvenile detention. When she got out, she changed her name and built a nice life with a husband, son, and friends.

One night, Alessia (Emma Jayne's new name) was woken up by a brick being thrown through her living room window. Several other bad things happened. The only thing Alessia could think was her old friend Sarah had finally found her.

This book has a dual timeline, switching from "then", the time around when the death happened, and "now". The characters were great. I could feel Alessia's fear and desperation as things kept happening to her. She feared not only for her own safety but also that of her child. She couldn't speak to her husband or friends about her concerns as they were not aware of her past.

I had a difficult time walking away from this book. The pages kept turning. I had to know what was going to happen. I had to know how the story was resolved. The twist at the end of unexpected. I totally didn't see it coming. I love when a twist is unexpected. When I finished the book, I just sat there thinking wow! This was a great book. I would like to go back and read it for the first time again.

4.5* Caught completely off guard by this author..Casey Kelleher can write a heck of a psychological thriller! The suspense is unlimited with this shocking, gritty, edge-of-your-seat book. With an unreliable narrator wrapped into two different timelines "Now" & "Then" and a span of 20 years, centering around an abandoned cottage in the woods, you will want to read this.

With Alessia's life appearing put together, as a 32 year old mom of a toddler, Jacob, and married to a loving husband, Carl, she has left her past behind her. Until odd occurrences begin to take place, such as a brick is thrown through their window with a note attached to it "Found You", someone intentionally tries to run her off the road and a box with a dead rat in it shows up at her front door.

The past comes back like movie reels before her. Some are unpleasant leaving Aleesia off kilter from reality. In her past, she remembers her name as Emma-Jayne, and a playmate, Sarah, playing in an abandoned cottage, deemed as the "dollhouse". Visuals of a dead body laying on the floor and Sarah disappearing leaving Emma-Jayne to take the blame. After spending six years in a mental institute for the murder of her stepfather, she changes her name and moves away from her hometown.

There is so much more to be said for this dark, twisted story as well as the lies we live with and believe to save ourselves from psychological trauma. Well-written to keep the dark secrets hidden and not bearing them with written words, but allowing you to imagine what was taking place.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4

I’ll Never Tell is a roller coaster of a psychological thriller. I was certain I had the “big twist” figured out from the start, but there was a lot more going on beneath the surface. This is a disturbing, albeit, addictive read.

Alessia is startled one night when a brick comes flying through her window. Attached to the brick is a note that reads FOUND YOU. Alessia knows right away her past has come back to haunt her and the new life she built with her husband and young son is in danger of falling apart. Who is Alessia running from and what did she do to deserve this?

I enjoyed reading this book, but I seem to be a bit of an outlier with my 3.5 star rating. I struggled around the 30%-50% mark because the characters lagged in understanding one of the major twists that I had already figured out. Sometimes the big reveal takes far too long to come out in the wash! I also struggled with the omnipotent narrator that wasn’t entirely omnipotent. This would’ve been a great opportunity to have an unreliable first person narrator to add to the suspense and I felt the absence of this technique impacted the thrill for me.

However, once I got to the 70% mark the book really picked up again and I devoured the last of it. I was relieved that there was more than one twist and Kehller reveals each one with perfection. Definitely worth the read if you are not put-off by the trigger warnings

This had so many twists and turns it made me quite anxious! It was that good! I really thought, when I got half way that I had guessed what was going on but every time I thought that it threw another curve ball.

What a brilliant read! I didn't see any of it coming and absolutely loved the story, as heartbreaking as it was. Sarah, Emma Jayne and Alissia are great characters and the writer certainly has a talent for twists! I'd highly recommend.

I loved this book! I don’t usually enjoy books with dual timelines but this was done so well, that it’s an exception for me. The book was fast paced and thrilling throughout with a fantastic ending!

This author has taken the reader away from her usual genre of gangland thrillers and this is her first psychological thriller. OMG WHAT A READ. An event happens to two little girls . Sarah said it was an accident. Set in two time periods then and now. The reader is given little snippets of what happened but not all of the story. You only get that in the dramatic climax. Heartbraking and gripping in equal measures and one story that will stay with me long after I have turned the last page.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

Wow! You sold me in the description with Doll House and the amazing blurb. I had high expectations! Plan to be completely invested… Alessia lives with her husband and young son. Something traumatic happened to her at the Doll House when she was younger and now she’s an adult and finally content. Until she starts getting threatening notes about being found. Cat and mouse games are here… this is one heck of a ride. You will be excited and scared and nervous all bundled into one. This story you truly can’t put down once you start, absolutely brilliant.

This is the first book I've read by Casey Kelleher and I loved it! I was immediately drawn in and invested in finding out the traumatic secrets Alessia was hiding. I had several guesses on how this one was going to end, but I was totally wrong. The ending was mind-blowing! I liked how the chapters were narrated by Alessia and switched from "then" (Alessia's past) and "now" (Alessia's present). Loved the storyline, plot twists, and how the book let me feel the darkness Alessia was feeling.

I earlier read Casey Kelleher’s “No Going Back” and loved it, prompting me to take this up. As with that book, this is a very well written & engrossing suspense novel.

Alessia, now 32, is happily married to Carl, and they have a young son - Jacob. Alessia has had a traumatic past, which she believes is finally behind her. Though it was many years back, fragments of the incidents continue to haunt her. When she was 12 years old, at the place she refers to as the doll-house where she played with her friend Sarah, a body was found. What follows leaves deep scars for years to come.

Now, someone is determined to make her remember the past and is harassing her, unclear to what purpose. There is a brick thrown at her house shattering the glass with a note reading “FOUND YOU”, and in another instance a car tries to run her off the road. While these could be disconnected incidents, Alessia knows they are not. But admitting that someone is after her will mean revealing a painful past to Carl. And more follows.

The story is told through two main timelines – the past and now. The writing is such that it raises the tension very quickly, which stays on every page. The first half had me completely hooked, till gradually the story starts falling into place, when the two timelines cover significant detail. The tension lets up just a little at about 3/4th of the book, after which the convergence comes. The last sections could have been a little better, but are very good nevertheless.

My rating: 4.5 / 5.

I’ll never tell by Casey Kelleher is the first book from the author I have read, and I am surprised how good this was.
Alessia is a happily married to Carl and they have one son Jacob. Carl is always working so Alessia spends time on her own. When one evening a brick is chucked through the window with a note on it that sends chills down Alessia spine and brings back memories that have long since buried and wants to forget.
When Alessia was a child the called Emma- Jayne and incident happened which changed her life for ever and ended up in a mental institution for six years.
She hasn’t told her husband what happened all those years ago and when other things start happening Carl thinks that Alessia is having a breakdown until things come out it starts to come clear.
Thank you Bookoutre and Netgalley for a copy of Casey Kelleher’s latest novel. This is a great page turner from the first page and kept me guessing what will happen next. It has a great intense story line and well-developed characters. It’s one of them book that you think you have worked out the plot and then you get a big surprise. I loved this. It kept me on my toes throughout. I can’t wait to read some of the authors other works. 5 stars from me.

I loved the story line and how it was told. The ending was phenomenal. A dark gritty story about a secret past catching up to the present. I had a hard time connecting with the main character and the pace of the book lagged a bit for me. I also found parts so implausible (ex: a social worker just blabbing about someone’s whole past after being asked with no warrant or pressure or anything). I found the behaviour of many of the players unrealistic. I just didn’t connect with this one. But I don’t think it was a bad book, it just wasn’t for me.

A brick through her window. Her car forced off the road. A malicious and nasty package left on her doorstep. Alessia is sure she knows who is behind the threats but why after 20 years of silence is she now being harassed?

A suspenseful fast paced book with plenty of twists which will keep you gripped from start to finish.

Well this is certainly a different story to the usual novels by Casey! However, this one was a very pleasant surprise as the suspense built throughout this psychological thriller. A really enjoyable read with a fine cast of characters.

Wow, this was one heck of a rollercoaster ride. Casey takes a jaunt away from gangland crime thrillers and hits with a cracker of a psychological thriller.
During their childhood, an incident happens, Sarah told her it was an accident.
Now, after creating a new life for herself, trying to put the past behind her, she is terrified she will lose everything when she fears Sarah has found her again.
This is one hell of a page turner, and I was gripped from the very beginning!
