A bright, colourful book based on an underwater Aquarium in Chicago. It’s based on a penguin that goes on an adventure, the book showcases lots of underwater sea creatures and features beautiful illustrations.

What an adorable story. The illustrations were lovely and format/layout made for a fun read. My 7 and 3 year old really enjoyed seeing the different animals that were introduced throughout.

A student whom I tutor loves ks about the natural world and its creatures. She would be so delighted by this title that also delighted me.

Here is the Shedd Aquarium, a place that must be amazing in real life but that is also fun to visit in this book. As it is set during Covid, there are no people but the hope is that they will be back soon. Meanwhile, an employee travels all over the aquarium with our two penguin friends.

With vivid illustrations and helpful text, readers get to see and know many sea critters. Such a nice and informative (virtual) field trip.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I liked this book and the look at the penguin exploring and meeting other animals in the aquarium. Some of the format was hard to read on my phone, but I liked how some of the pages had different layouts that have you turning the books different ways!

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC!

An adorable story based on the real penguins, Edward and Annie, at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago! Annie wakes up one day and realizes something is different. Soon she realizes that she and Edward will be going on an adventure around the aquarium to see the other animals. This story is so cute! It shows kids how different can be good. Plus it also shows off many of the amazing exhibits at the Shedd!

Edward & Annie is an adorable story of two penguins off on an adventure to visit new friends at the aquarium. It is actually based on the true story, and the viral videos, of the penguins at Shedd Aquarium during covid lockdowns.

Throughout their adventures they meet several other interesting animals at the aquararium making it an educational read as well. Reading this has inspired my kids to start asking to go to an aquarium soon and I think that will be in our near future.

I do wish the hard to pronounce animals came with phonetic spelling after them but not a big concern and I can always look up proper pronunciation.

**For those worried this is a "covid book", it isn't actually mentioned in the story. The animals just note something is missing, the people! The only actual mention of covid is the note at the end explaining the inspiration for the story. It's just a cute story of penguins on an adventure.
