This is a good book of light fiction. One family with 4 daughters whose lives have torn apart. This is the first book in a series well worth reading. Each girl has had a life changing event that leads to a life reset for all. These events have led them back to their grandmothers bed and breakfast for the summer. Each must make a decision about their past and how to reshape their future. They have been raised by a cold mother who has never been supportive just critical. This in itself leads them to pull closer and deal with their issues together. Each has assumed things about the others lives completely wrong. Old hurts are revisited and the girls begin a journey to pull back together as sisters and solve the mystery of why their father mysteriously abandoned the family. Well written and definitely escapism for a good weekend read.

The Orchid Inn initially caught my eye because of its focus on sisterhood and family reconnecting on a cute, quaint summer island off the coast of New England. I was looking for a fun, light read about sisters bonding and each of their romantic entanglements. The Orchid Inn brings together three of four sisters, each going through a sort of mid-life crisis in which their relationships have come crumbling down and they are left with nothing, so they each decide to go back to their grandmother’s inn on the island where they spent their happy, youthful summers.

I automatically loved and related to the premise. I have two sisters myself and could picture going back to our summer apartment on the beach in Nazare or even in our New England backyard. Sadly though, I just could not get into this one. The tone of the story felt forced, formal and repetitious. Even despite the unlikelihood that all three sisters have each of their relationships fall apart at the exact same time, I really wanted to like them.

First, let me introduce the sisters:

After more than a decade with the same man, Sarah finds herself with nothing when her rich boyfriend dies, leaving her with nothing.
Rich and successful Ava is a high-powered lawyer who loses her job and comes home to find out that her husband has left her and cleaned out their savings.
Charlotte is waitressing in a diner rather than pursuing her artistic dreams until her husband tells her they have to divorce after disagreeing on fundamental aspects of their lifestyle, like whether or not to have children.
Separately, each of them could have a great story, but perhaps it was just too much to unpack in one novel. On top of all of their individual disappointments, their father up and left them 17 years before.

The entire story was disjointed and improbable, but it was Ava and Sarah’s encounters that really disappointed and disengaged me from this story. The two had not spoken in a decade after a really big blowout where they each deeply hurt the other. Initially, Ava lashed out at Sarah when they first saw each other at the inn, but immediately takes it back and apologizes for everything just a couple of hours later. Not only was that ridiculous in itself because the hurts were way too deep for that kind of 180, but then the two go right back to being best friends in an instant!

The father’s story could’ve been another really compelling storyline, but the way they all interacted night one had me completely checked out. I’m all for a fun, light read, but this one way oversimplified the most basic of human emotions and minimized what would be some seriously traumatic experiences.

A great story around 3 sisters (there's a 4th sister, but she's not in the story) who are at a crossroad in their lives. Each sister is coming out of a relationship. Needing a new start, each sister goes to visit their grandmother at the same time.. They spend the summer exploring repairing themselves and their relationships.

It was an enjoyable story with great sister interactions. For those who enjoy Nora Roberts, you will definitely enjoy this story. It's written for more stories afterwards which I definitely look forward to.

My only disappointment was in the last few pages. It was a rush job to try to keep all of the characters on Orchid Island. It was haphazard and really quite bad.

The promotional synopsis for The Orchid Inn was intriguing: After Ava Flynn was deserted by her husband (who also cleaned out their joint savings account) and is fired from her job, she travels to her grandmother’s bed-and-breakfast on a small New England island, a place she has always enjoyed and felt welcome, only to meet up with her two sisters, one of whom she has not spoken to in a decade. And, although the storyline progresses in a decent fashion and was fairly interesting, the ending did not do it for me. It was not only abrupt, with several plot lines left hanging, but I also found it pretty unbelievable. Nonetheless, this was an overall good read.

Book One of six books is the story of three sisters that end up back on Orchid Island after having each of their lives upended. Staying at The Orchid Inn which is owned by their grandmother, Sarah, Ava and Charlotte each hope that the summer spent on the Island will bring much needed clarity of what they are going to do for the rest of their lives. But what they get is an unexpected surprise. Although I felt the book ended rather abruptly and a tad ‘far fetched’, I look forward to reading the other books in the series. I received an early copy from Netgalley and the Publisher, Sunrise Books. The review is my opinion.

Life is about to bring Ava and her sisters, Charlotte and Sarah, back together as they each go back to their grandmother Eileen's Orchid Inn. They spent their summers there as children, and they were their happiest times. They haven't been back for years, but life has brought them to a different life, one that none of them want, so they are going back and seeing what they can do about their lives.
They figure out that they lost themselves in the choices they made that led them to the lives they now have. With the help of their Grandmother, the people on Orchid Island, and many people they remembered from going there during the summers growing up, it reminds them of the dreams they once had, and now is the time to take a step back and realize who they want to be and where they want to go from here.
This is book one in a new series, and the series seems to be the women's journey. This book shows us their past, and how they got to the point that life is showing them that they need to change things. I am looking forward to their journeys, the things they learn about themselves, the changes they make because the changes are what will bring them to a new place in their journey.

According to the author, this is the first in a new series, with the potential for 6 books. It’s off to a good start. There actually 4 sisters, but only Ava, Sarah, and Charlotte are the focus of this story.
When it rains it pours. The lives Of the three sisters all imploded in huge ways,
. They all converge on their grandmother’s inn near Newport, RI. It’s a time of self discovery for each sister, reconnecting with each other and their former passions in order to forge new paths for themselves.
Then a blast from the past blows in and offers them all a fresh start.
I liked the setting and the trio of sisters. I thought the ending was a bit too convenient, but it provides a good segue into the next book, which I’m eager to read.

Thank you for the ARC to read and review. DNF for me unfortunately. Stiffly written style I couldn’t get past.

Really fun read. This will be a perfect beach (or anywhere) read and I'm looking forward to the books that follow.

This book caught my eye because it takes place in New England and I live in New England and the authors name is Aisling and I have a friend named Aisling so that's really all it took to reel me in.

The Orchid Inn focuses on three sisters and their failed relationships coming to a head at the same time and bringing them back to their Grandmother's Inn. One sister's partner of 12-years died and left her nothing. One sister had her husband drain millions out of their joint bank account and ran off on her and their child. The third sister, who was much younger than the other two, realized that her and her husband did not want the same things out of life and both realized they had to move on. Like any family there are a lot of dynamics and relationships that unfold throughout the book as the sisters mourn their relationships and learn how to be a family again. On top of that their father, who disappeared from their lives many years ago, mysteriously shows back up in their lives.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought that all the characters had an interesting story and I found myself staying up way later than I should have been to find out what happened. The story is definitely unfinished but I can see why the book wrapped up when it did. There was a note at the end that this book is a series but I haven't found any information on when the next book is coming out and I want to read it!!

"no matter where you go, there you are"

A story of four sisters. Three of the sisters have found their lives falling apart. They each end up going to Orchid Island where their Gran runs a Bed and Breakfast, where happy childhood memories live.
They each now need to face the issues/reality of their lives.
Changes, reconnecting with each other, finding themselves and the strength to move on with their lives.

I received a copy of the book through NetGalley from the author and have decided to voluntarily review it.

4 stars
Not at all what I expected. I do feel there is a audience for this book. It is not for me. Thanks for the ARC of this book.

Thank you so much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for my advanced copy!

I loved this book, maybe because I’m one out of three sisters so I can relate to the sisterhood feel of the book, or maybe I’m just a sucker for a beautiful bed and breakfast imagine playing through my head while reading a good book. This book caught my interest as soon as I started to read about Ava and Moira, the mother daughter duo felt like my soul sisters!! The book was a very easy read and I didn’t want to put it down, however it was easy to feel like the characters problems were your own as they were very relatable. It says book one, so I’m super excited to read book two and will buy this in a physical copy when it is out! As a kid the sisterhood of the traveling pants was my favorite book and this read like the adult version !

Thank you to Net Galley and Sunrise Books for the chance to read and review this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
This is the story of three sisters with very big problems in their lives. In order to build new lives they all meet at The Orchid Inn (ran by their grandmother). This story kept my attention, but some of the story lines were just a little too much. I found it hard to believe all three sisters were going through life changing events all at the same time. Also, the end of the book made things too easy for their estranged father.

This book was amazing! If you love beach-theme books that deal with forgiveness, bonds between sisters, and heartfelt reunions with a dash of spunk and humor and even a bit of magick, this book is for you! I loved the white witch Willow!!!!

Complicated lives and troubles draw three sisters to the island of their youth. It is there, on Orchid Island, that they begin to find ways to realize dreams and heal old wounds.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Three smart women wind up with three awful men who mentally abuse them and belittle them at every turn. One even steals all the money in a joint account (how that could happen is beyond me). When sisters Charlotte, Sarah and Ava find themselves at their grandmother's B&B on Orchid Island, they try to discover why their father left them 17 years ago, why they have become estranged from each other and what their real value in life is. Self reflection, forgiveness and love are the paths they choose. An interesting character study in conflict resolution in families.
