not my favorite from this author, but it had all the angst, swoony hero vibes i was expecting. it just felt kinda … forced?

This is one of the books that I had anticipated a lot but was severely disappointed.

The first half of the book was actually okay but then it turned awry especially during the romance parts. The romance felt flat and in a way, the characters and the storyline is a bit draggy in a sense.

Took some time for me to finish the book, but in all honesty, only the scenic parts at the farm was okay. The rest was just.. well.. not too my expectations.

Another absolute hit from P Dangelico! I really enjoyed this book, I love a good small town romance and this one did not disappoint. The chemistry between the main characters was off the charts. 5 stars

This was really good! I love this authors writing style. It's so easy to get lost in the story! Blue runs a large animal rescue and Shane is there to help get his brothers image straightened out and to help blue save the animal rescue. These two are stuck together on the farm and this starts their romance. I absolutely loved it. It's a slow burn which is awesome! I loved their story so much.

This book is told in first person from the heroine’s POV. Blue, the heroine, is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. She was fierce, sassy, and independent while also being vulnerable at times. She knew what she wanted and wouldn’t take anything less. The hero, Shane, was stoic and had walls a mile high. Once Blue knocked them down, I fell in love with him too. A warning: I did want to smack him at times! Overall this was a slow burn, funny, and sometimes emotional read. I really enjoyed it.

Blue has a traumatic event in her past. So much so, that she has relocated to an animal sanctuary and does not wander off the property often. She gave up being a paramedic to take care of animals.
When her best friend, who works for a Hollywood agent, offers the sanctuary as a place for an overprivileged actor to do his community service, Blue is not too happy. When his brother, who looks so much like him, shows up first, Blue is taken with the moody man. However, he keeps his distance as much as possible.
Opinion
This is a romance for any romance lover out there. The slow, sweet burn of this story is mesmerizing. All of the train wrecks going on around the main characters just add to the fun. This book was a joy to read from start to finish.
The epilogue hinted at a story with Blue's best friend. I'm hoping that her story will be coming out soon.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

This was a delightful read, chock full of romance, humor, emotional depth and some amazing secondary characters. The main characters were absolutely perfect in their imperfections. The story progresses at a realistic pace and there were no wasted pages in unnecessary drama, which I absolutely love.
If you want to read a funny and light romantic comedy this is for you.

Overall this was a fun book to read. Unfortuntely, it holds sad memories because my father passed away while I sat at the hospital reading and hanging out with him. So it is very hard for me to really talk about it. I do remember that it was a confort to have something by this author.

3.5/5 stars
Tropes:
- Age gap
- Brooding hero
- Small town vibes
- Emotional
I was expecting so much of this book since P. Dangelico is one of my favorites authors. However, I was a little disappointed with this book. The premise of the book and the topics that deals (search for TW) really peak my interest but most of the times I was frustrated with the behavior of the hero, and the ending of the book for me was bad because it was hasty and I needed a little more from the H and h.
The book was a quick pace and the narrative of P. Dangelico is as always but at the end it was not for me.

This was my first experience reading a book by the author and I have been seduced by her writing since the beginning. P. Dangelico here creates a Blue who, despite her past trauma, is still a witty and sarcastic character, who does not accept insult from anyone.

Rating: 3.75 stars!

I really liked this story and I have so much love for our heroine, Blue (I am obsessed with her name btw). I’ve been wanting to read a book involving animals for a while now so I was so happy to get this ARC when I found out the story took place in a farm for rescued animals, honestly it made my heart very happy.

This books is a new adult romance standalone, that follows Blue, a young paramedic that after going through a traumatic event, decides to leave the life she knew to work on a farm for rescued animals, as far away from people as possible, and focusing only on what made her heart happy; the animals that went through horrible things, just as her, and give them the life they deserve.

But her peace had a deadline, because a celebrity, Aidan Hughes, is set to spend a couple of months on the farm after he committed a crime, as mandated community service. But he didn’t came alone, his very grumpy older brother, Shane, came as well, putting her in a lot of trouble with how attracted she feels towards him.

The love story between Blue and Shane is very funny and very cute, I have to say that their interactions made me devour this book! I couldn’t put it down. Also, I fell in love with Aidan, Mona and Jess, all of them were such great characters and friends to Blue, but Aidan did stand out to me because of his celebrity status, so their friendship that happened after a lot of drama, felt very sweet and natural to me.

This book didn’t get 5 stars for me because I felt it was too short and that I didn’t get enough. Enough of Shane and Blue, enough of the heavy moments, enough of the interactions and descriptions, it felt… Rushed. If the conversations and descriptions were more detailed I think I would have connected more deeply with the characters. Something was definitely missing.

Still, I throughly enjoyed Out of the Blue and the ending made my heart very very warm. Knowing both got their happy ending, a big family, surrounded by people they love and their animals, definitely made it all worth it.

I will reading more books from this author for sure!

Rescuing animals means everything to Blue. I enjoyed reading this slow burn romance about two broken people. I found it easy to connect with the two main characters, Blue and Shane and loved reading their story as they helped each other heal.

P. Dangelico is one of my favorite authors, so I was excited to read her newest story, Out of the Blue. It is sweet and emotional and sometimes heartbreaking. The characters' spirits are broken along with the abused animals they are taking care of. Taking care of the animals seems to help them deal with their issues and heal.

Blue is just trying to get through each day, but everything changes when Shane and Aiden come to stay at the animal rescue farm where she lives. Shane is a broody, successful author and Blue is immediately attracted to him, but Shane keeps his emotions to himself and is hard to read.

Shane and Blue are easy to like and they're good people underneath all their issues. There is a lot of chemistry flowing between Shane and Blue, even though they try to ignore it. I kept turning the pages hoping they would realize how good they were together. Along with Blue and Shane, I also found the secondary characters added another dimension to the story and I can’t forget all the animals. I loved every minute of this beautiful and emotional read.

I always enjoy P. Dangelico books. There are only a few I haven't read yet.

This is the story of Blue, a former paramedic, who escapes to the country to care for rescue animals with the crazy hoot Mona. They form a mother/daughter bond which Blue was missing in her life.

Enter the crazy friend who sets up a rehabbing movie star to stay at the farm to work with the animals. Honestly, Aidan Hughes was a little cocky in the beginning, but I seriously grew to love him! Wish we would have had more of him.

And on that note, imagine Blue's surprise when Aidan's brother, Shane, shows up to also stay and keep an eye on his brother. I did not see that coming.

I loved the story and highly recommend it!

The reason for the 4 stars..... my biggest complaint was not getting a POV from Shane. I needed that. He was so hard to read, but you saw him come through in little moments.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...

This was a cute and steamy slow burn romance.

Blue runs a haven for rescued animals and her life gets turned upside down while doing a favor for her bestie, Jess. Shane and Aidan are two brothers who “invade” Blue’s haven, but they are there to help Aidan revive/fix his career and complete his community service.

Blue and Shane had that intense connection from the moment they met, but Shane wasn’t so interested in anything real because of his past. I loved that Blue still tried to find love even though Shane was being a butt barnacle and let’s just say he was Blue’s shadow whenever she went.

I loved the bond between Jess and Blue, but the repair of the brothers’ relationship was just beautiful. Mona and Darby are completely crazy and I loved their naughty ways.

I would have liked a little bit more grovel or some time before Blue forgave Shane for what he did. I also wasn’t a fan of Blue’s parents, they were odd to me especially her self absorbed mother.

I would have loved to know more in the epilogue, did Jess and Aidan get together?

I have been in P. Dangelico's corner for some time. I like how she crafts and how she is able to draw me in with complicated characters. With Out of the Blue, she did not disappoint.

We have a group of people thrown together who normally would never cross paths. On one side we have Blue Baldwin who was an EMT, experienced a life-changing event causing her to leave Los Angeles and move to an animal rescue farm in Ojai, CA. It is run by a free spirit who gets Blue, understands her, and together these women save all sorts of animals.

The hook of this tale is that Blue's best friend is an assistant to a huge agent/manager in the entertainment industry. This agent has a star who is in need of rehabilitation, hours of community service, and if not done, he will go to prison. Blue's friend suggests it all happen at the rescue ranch and the courts accepted these terms.

Surprise, of course, Blue and the owner of the ranch had no idea it was happening or gave approval. However, the owner likes excitement and the monetary gift so the movie star is coming.

This story takes off and the thrill is seeing how it is the brother of the star that connects with Blue. We have conflict, attraction, and romance. We also learn of tortured animals, how a star needs to get out of his head and see the light, and lots of fun.

It read fast and as I said, it did not disappoint.

If you like contemporary romance with a bit of a slow burn, then "Out of the Blue" by Paola D'Angelico is for you! I have read several of her previous novels and loved them! This is another fun one by this author. The heroine has a lot of spunk. The chemistry between the two leads is great. The story has some typical contemporary romance themes: forced proximity, opposites attract, big city girl moves to the country, etc. This one has some great supporting secondary characters as well.

Blue Baldwin had an incident what seemed to be harmless wasn’t and paid the price and her life is no longer the same nor does she want it to be the same anymore. She has been called by her best friend to accommodate a hare-brained idea that she has. Once the code word has been spoken there is no way around it so not only does she have to look after the rescue animals she also has to look after a spoilt actor and gets a side dish of the sudden brother.

Blue has been stuck in a rut for a while and Mona thinks that this is a great way to get out of the rut. No matter what she loves her animals but she realises she wants more. The whole she-bang, husband and kids. Hard to achieve if you don’t go out. That all changes when she meets Shane.

I love me some slow burn romance and this author is very talented in this genre. I have enjoyed some of her other books with a DOV this however isn’t one of them. Told solely from Blue’s POV it just didn’t give me the insight to Shane that I needed to understand his actions and his dick-ish behaviour.

Nevertheless I still found the book entertaining and engaging and would recommend this book to anyone who loves slow burn romance.

The first half was fantastic. I like how Blue lives in the country and runs a rescue shed for animals beaten & badly treated - it is good. I like how she felt her purpose in it after being assaulted and facing PTSD for years..it was nice how she tries to build her life from ruins but!! I don't like the lust aspects here..Shane loved her but she initially lusted him and now she loves him...
Okay, in my view - the second half was rubbish

Those 2 stars were for the Animals, their rescue theme, overcoming PTSD, and for Shane & Aiden's relationship re-building

4.5 stars! In the four or five books I've read by this author, I've learned that I can count on certain things. First, her storylines will be something vastly different than the typical tropes of this genre, and that diversity in plot is so refreshing. Second, I will experience a range of emotions. In most cases, that means I want to throat punch the hero at some point because I've become so emotionally attached to the damaged heroines (and there's nothing as great as a damaged, unfairly misjudged heroine and that moment of reveal when the hero learns the truth). I'm not a huge fan of angst in the books I read, with the exception of this author it seems. I just can't seem to stay away from her. I guess it's because even though I know there will be angst, I also know I can trust her to work it out in a way that is acceptable, meaning that the appropriate amount of groveling will take place to atone for whatever has happened to cause the angst in the first place. I do not want to read about doormat heroes or heroines, and you will find no doormats here. Yes, as others have mentioned, this is a slow burn. In fact, it's slow period. But I never once felt the need to stop reading, and I consider myself an impatient reader. The pace of this story is intentional, I think, and aligns quite well with the plot itself. This is just an all-around great read.

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for providing an ARC for review.
