This is such a cute story! The Tiny Woman's Coat is a lyrical tale about a tiny woman who makes her own coat with the help of nature. The tiny woman is so resourceful and smart and the animals she meets are helpful and generous. Using things in a different way has leaves used as fabric. a porcuping quill becomes a needle, seeds are used as buttons and so on. The art style is warm and fuzzy. Every page is attractive, full of soothing colors and add much to this little book. This is a story of resourcefulness, teamwork and friendship. The only theme missing for me was gratitude, but that could definitely be a discussion point. A great book to be used in primary classrooms.

This adorable little picture feels like an old fashioned folk tale. It's about a tiny woman who wants a coat. She finds things around her and the animals of the forest help her and she ends up with a coat that allows her to go out in the rain. The art works feels fresh but retro at the same time. The text is repetitive and the little kids are going to like this one a lot.

A lyrical tale of a tiny woman who makes her own coat with the help of nature. A resourceful woman that children will gravitate towards. The items she finds to make her coat and the animals that help her. A classic book to treasure.

A special thank you to Publisher Spotlight and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley, Joy Cowley and Publisher Spotlight for the copy of The Tiny Woman’s Coat. This is my personal review.
This is a story of a tiny woman needing a coat. She gets help from her animal friends and nature. The story shows how others help a friend in need in a very easy way. The illustrations are so perfect for the story. The use of the various things from all the help she got will make the children picture how simple things can work together to make her the coat she needs.

When the tiny woman wants a coat, she is helped by nature and friends and the result is a triumph of teamwork and friendship. The repetition in the text would make this a soothing wind-down book and will also help early readers try out reading independently. There is a lot of expressive language that will be good for vocabulary building as well.

The illustrations have a hand-drawn look and are beautifully stylized. They will definitely help kids follow the story. It didn't escape my notice that the tiny woman never expressed gratitude to all the creatures who helped her, but this could actually be a productive point of discussion with young kids. Maybe they could imagine how she could show her appreciation.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
