Sadly not at all what I had anticipated, I really expected a lot more.

Thank you NetGalley for the Arc.

This is an interesting and insightful read. It was a little different to what i expected and I was a little confused to begin with. I did struggle to get through it due to my adhd and the lack of graphics/illustrations which i personally prefer non-fiction books to have plenty of. There's a fair bit of use of anecdotes which can be a good or bad thing depending on the person reading.

This book looks at money and economics in a rather unique way looking at it from the angle of physics, philosophy, and with the mention of how the way money and economics works and is used in society are very much like illusions (one of the reasons for the magic in the title).

First confused, then engaged and interested in what was next - that is more or less an accurate description of my feelings while reading this book. If you like a philosophical approach to the world, go ahead and start reading this book. It is quite interesting and engaging and let you explore common and known things from new sides. If I were to pick up my top quote from this book, it would be "Money is a powerful social technology".
