Author: Lynette Eason

Ch: 33

Pg: 329

Series: Extreme Measures

Genre: Christian Suspense

Rating: 4 stars

Publisher: Revell

I enjoy the suspense and the secondary storyline and characters. But it took me a while to warm up to Penny. But once I did, I was rooting for her and Holt both on and off the off case.

Eason’s books always have the right balance of romance to suspense in her romantic suspense and Life Flight was no different. With her suspense I’m going to get well drawn mystery that will kept me on my toes to very last page with my happy ending. I also enjoy that while she writes series each book in the series is stand alone. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is one of Lynette Eason's best books yet! There is something going on throughout the entire book. It is completely full of suspense! I can't wait for more in this series. Just when you think you have a character figured out, NOPE they are not at all who you think they are.

From the first page, Lynette Eason managed to get my heart pumping with adrenalin! There were a few moments where the pace slowed a bit, which I'm thankful for, just to get my heart rate back to normal.

One of the reasons I love Lynette Eason, is because she provides me with some twisted baddies, and this serial killer was one of the best crazy ones. Penny and Holt's relationship was refreshingly different to ones I've read in the past...it was a slow building romance which grew over months/years.

Apart from the serial killer who readers knew and anticipate the build-up, there was another person possibly stalking Penny and a side mystery with Holt's sister. And the twist at the end I only really saw coming right before the reveal.

I loved all the other characters we met, Holly, Raina, Jennifer, and Grace and would love a story about each one of them! Raina's past was especially intriguing with some expectation of future danger. I would also love to see more of Holt and his sisters!

Fans of romantic suspense should not skip this book and fans of Lynette Eason will sigh with satisfaction (after they get their heart rate back to normal).

I'm grateful to NetGalley for the privilege of reading books before publication. Some of them I really enjoy, others not so much. This was one I really did like, though! I'm drawn to books about flights but don't know much about flying a chopper. Doesn't matter, because Penny Carlton did. Not 0nly was she an ace of a helicopter pilot but a darned good detective, as well. And she seemed to have nine lives (well, at least three).

I realized as I read that there is definitely a difference between the suspense and the mystery genre. Mysteries, the reader usually has to figure out who the guilty party is. This was suspense, and I was frightened in a few places.

If this weren't enough, how I loved that the language was clean, and that the characters relied upon their Father in Heaven when they needed help! He is always there!

What an exciting, action-packed, Christian fiction, thriller! I really enjoyed this book and had a really hard time putting it down. The characters are so well developed and believable and the author has clearly done a lot of research into police work/ investigation - the story read so smoothly and factually. I can’t wait to read the next instalment of the ‘extreme measures’ series that this first book kicked off!
Thank you NetGalley and Revell for the copy of this eArc in exchange for an honest review.

Life Flight is an exciting start to Lynette Eason’s new series, Extreme Measures. It is an edge of your seat thriller that will keep you glued to the pages with its many twists and turns! And, you will be desperately trying to figure out exactly what is happening and who all is involved. I was accusing literally everyone! Lol.

I really liked both Holt and Penny and how they worked together to find a serial killer that is on the loose. I also liked how they had known each other for awhile, but I do wish there would have been a bit more romance in this story.

And can I just talk about this villain? He is probably the most creepy villain I’ve ever read. The things Penny and others had to go through were nightmare inducing, intense, and downright scary. This story kept me turning the pages long into the night.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. The faith thread is light.

SPELLBINDING!

Author Lynette Eason provides readers with a spellbinding new release that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! I truly enjoy reading a romantic suspense work that makes me feel like a participant instead of just someone on the sidelines. Eason plots a thriller that centers around Penny Carlton, an EMS helicopter pilot and FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield. Imagine having to make an emergency landing in your Rescue Chopper on the side of a mountain in a raging storm! Then discovering there is a serial killer loose in the area! This is just a small snippet of the challenges Eason provides for these two. These characters will learn a great deal about themselves, each other, trust, compassion, bravery and hope for the future. Will Penny and Holt be able to solve the mystery and decide what to do about the growing attraction between them?

I was provided a complimentary copy I this book by Revell. The opinions expressed here are my own and without influence.

This first book in a brand new series from Lynette Eason was a perfect read for a snowy winter day.
Lots of action. Suspense. Mystery. And more.
Penny is a helicopter pilot. The story takes off when she has to do an emergency landing on top of a mountain in the middle of a bad storm. To save the life of their patient, she has to hike down the side of the mountain to get help. Then she learns that there is a serial killer on the loose, and the chances are quite high he is heading toward the stranded copter.
Penny soon finds herself caught in the sights of said serial killer. Why is he after her?
Her friends, along with handsome FBI agent Holt are working with her to stop this crazed madman.
This story has lots of twists and turns. Excitement. Terror. Danger. Murder. And so much more.
You won't want to stop reading until you've read it all!

Life Flight is a fabulous start to Lynette Eason's Extreme Measures series. I was often on the edge of my seat. It was great. Five stars.

Life Flight is the first book in the Extreme Measures series. This book focuses on Penny Carlton, an EMS helicopter pilot, and Holton Satterfield, an FBI agent.

Most of this book was very fast paced, which I enjoyed. I was engaged and wanted to keep reading. Even though the suspect is known throughout the book, there were enough twists and turns written in to keep it interesting. The romance aspect was mostly well done. They had doubts and conflict that helped make their relationship feel a bit more realistic than some of these books tend to be. However, I did not think the timing of him asking her out was right. It felt very weird given the preceding events.

I have read quite a few books by this author and think this is one of her better ones. Worth the read if you don’t mind a creepy serial killer.

If you enjoy books that will have you checking over your shoulder and keeping the lights on at night, then you’ll enjoy Life Flight. A mix of romance, suspense and mystery as the characters race to stay out of the crosshairs of a serial killer.

When Penny Carlton is forced to make an emergency landing during a medial evac flight, she doesn’t expect to find herself the target of a dangerous serial killer. But that’s exactly what happens when a storm takes out her tail rotor blade and she sets out on foot to find help. It’s the perfect night for an escaped prisoner. Dark, wild and stormy. And a helicopter might be the perfect ride out of there. That’s exactly what FBI Agent Holt Satterfield must prevent. With danger closing in and time running out, Penny and Holt team up, because surviving this night is not the only danger they will face as they race to track down this serial killer before he claims more victims.

This story was genuinely creepy. There are just enough details to feel scared and creeped out and raise the stakes pretty high.

Penny and Holt have met and casually dated before they meet again on the stormy hillside fighting off a serial killer. It’s the perfect continuation of their romance and I liked that their relationship had some backstory rather than having them build everything for the first time. It also left more room in the story for details about the case. The time they do spend together is a chance for them to explore their history and build trust. They have both saved the other’s life a few times and will have to do so again if they want to stay alive.

Both Holt and Penny’s backstory introduce a range of themes and even an extra murder case into the book. Holt must finally face the truth about why his sister is in jail for murder and Penny shares her childhood trauma and why she kept her past a secret from Holt. Penny also has a great group of friends, friends who also have secrets from their past. I hope it is these friends that we get to know better in the next few books in this series.

I expected this book to be more about search and rescue and was rather delighted when it turned into a crime novel, with serial killers and crime scenes. I didn’t see the last twist coming (love when they surprise me!) and there are enough bad guys and evil to really keep the characters on their toes.

Also, I adore the cover. So pretty. Such a contrast to some of the scenes we get in the story.
The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Wow, this series is off to a great pulse-pounding start! "Today was not going to be the day they died - not if she had anything to say about it." Life Flight, the first book in the new Extreme Measures series by author Lynette Eason is an exciting, page-turning, can't-put-it-down book that I read in one day! EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is one amazing heroine who is forced to land on a mountain in the middle of a storm with a serial killer on the loose. Lynette Eason really created some great characters in this story and a few really terrible ones.

I highly recommend Life Flight! If you like romantic suspsense you will love this story.

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy, all opinions are my own.

Action! Action! Action! Lynette Eason's new Extreme Measures series Life Flight takes you from landing a helicopter on a mountain in a storm to running from a serial killer! EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton manages to land and rescue a teenage injured hiker but the helicopter is damaged and can't take off! FBI Special Agent Holton Satterfield learns a serial killer has escaped from the hospital following surgery and is on the same mountain as Penny and the other EMS workers. Author Lynette Eason takes you from one terrifying situation to another where Penny and Holt don't have time to determine their feelings for one another. You will want to make sure your doors are locked before beginning this action packed book! I recommend Life Flight to anyone who enjoys suspense! I received a complimentary e-book through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.

Life Flight was written by Lynette Eason and is book one in the Extreme Measures series.

Summary: EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton thrives in difficult situations, but even this one might be too much for her to handle. She’s crash-landed her helicopter on the side of a mountain during a blizzard.

Desperate to find help for her injured passenger and stranded crew, she braves the elements to find help. But has she managed to put herself in the cross-hairs of a serial killer in the process?

My Thoughts: I liked the premise of this book. There are lots of unique twists and turns, and plenty of action all of the way through the book, which I really enjoyed.

It did seem like the characters were a little slow to realize bad things were happening to them or that they were missing something important at times though, and they just pushed ahead anyway. It kind of made me want to shout at them.

For me, it was a one-time read, but if you are looking for an action-packed adventure with a little romance thrown in, I think you will like it.

I would like to thank Revell for providing me a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you.

This is a fantastic start to a new series. I love all the action and the romance. Every time I turned around there was more things happening. This is a book you will not want to put down. Penny and Holt go through a lot before the end of this book. There is action from the start to the end. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

What a chilling ride, literally!...as the opening scene finds us aboard an EMS chopper during a mountainous snowstorm with a serial killer on the loose!

EMS helicopter pilot, Penny Carlton, is tough as nails, but her strength and skills are tested when she teams up with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield to catch an abhorrent psychopath—before he gets to Penny! Penny and Holt are likable characters, albeit complex, with alot of baggage from their past. They work well together and hold one another in high regard, each for their respective careers and intelligence. Not to mention the chemistry that flows between them!

Lynette Eason always delivers a fast-paced thriller with so many twists and turns it's almost impossible to figure out who-dun-it or why! The creep factor in this one is fairly high and by the time I finished my hands were shaking, heart was racing, and blood pressure had amped up a notch! Why do I find satisfaction in that?! lol Only a suspense lover would understand and Ms. Eason surely knows how to write them!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

Christian Mystery is my favorite genre of book to read. I have read several of Lynette Eason’s books and I think she is a superb writer.
This book was no exception to her previous books.
I felt like I arrived at the climactic end in Chapter One but no. The story kept unfolding and heighten until the very end of the book. The plot was suspenseful and carried until the very end. I enjoyed the main characters and supporting ones in this book. I enjoyed that Penny and Holt (the lead characters) were already in the beginnings of a relationship in the book. It was a different approach and I did enjoy it. It did leave me feeling as if I missed a prequel book. I love the depth of the back stories of the lives of the main characters.
A few plot twists and turns unfold within the pages. I figured out the accomplice fairly easily but it was a good addition to the mystery. I give this book 5 stars and look forward to the rest of the books in the series.
I am leaving this review after reading the book from the publisher on NetGalley.com. I was not required to leave a positive review.

I was first captivated by this stunning cover, then pleasantly surprised when I saw the author’s name. I opened the book and was hooked by the first line, “Today was not going to be the day they died – not if she had anything to say about it.”

I buckled up and got ready for an amazing ride. I was not disappointed. The series is called extreme measures. I could only imagine where this author would take readers next.

This is a thrilling read from beginning to end with characters I cared about that got into nail biting situations, I didn’t know how it would end. I am delighted to be on the launch team for this novel. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. Excited at where this author will take us next. This is an enthralling, romantic suspense novel you don’t want to miss. It’s one that would make for a wonderful book club pick; there is so much to discuss.

Let me just say, I am a Lynette Eason loyalist. She will forever be a pre-order author for me.
I was so excited to jump into a new series, but this first installment just fell a little flat for me, in comparison to what I've come to expect from Eason. Was it a good book? Of course. The woman could probably not write anything bad if she tried. That being said, this is not the Eason book I'm going to recommend first when I introduce the author to a friend.
The begin was captivating and the overall premise was enjoyable. I enjoyed the hero, though I thought his character was a bit lackluster. The tough, ready to handle whatever comes at her personality of the heroine was something I really favored, but that was about it. I felt like this read was very plot driven and not character driven. I didn't know enough about the leading roles, so to speak, to believe their actions were pushing the story forward. It felt like a lot of external drivers and not enough time to truly get to know the characters and their struggles.
I loved the cover design, and look forward to seeing the rest in the series.
