Sunrise was everything I love about Susan May Warren's writing and left me wanting book two, Sunburst immediately. She's kind of the master at that.

Sunrise has everything -

1. Characters I rooted for and loved immediately. Dodge and Echo's sweet history together, dating back to childhood, their unique bond and love for the same wild, Alaskan life was just perfect. I love how Dodge knew what he wanted even as a young man and pursued her whole-heartedly. Echo was such an endearing mixture of grounded, kind, soft, but strong, wounded and gutsy. I just loved her. My heart broke for her past. I loved all of the side characters like Echo and Dodge's fathers, the towns folk and friends.

2. A unique, perfectly-paced plot with just the right amounts of mystery, adventure and heart.

3. Solid, relatable and realistic character arcs, with plenty of Biblical truths. So many quotes saved in this one, I lost track.

4. A well-developed story world - I felt like I was the one in Alaska, a testament to Susan's well-honed craft.

5. Cameos from some of my past story favorites - I mean Jace, Wyatt and Ham all in one book? Pretty much perfection.

6. A burning desire for book two. Like yesterday. Like I said, she's kind of the master at making her readers want more. Darn her -- Hehe.

I am incredibly excited to see what the rest of this series brings. So many unanswered questions and I couldn't be looking forward to discovering what lies ahead more.

Sunrise by Susan May Warren, is a wonderful Alaskan romance and suspense novel. So much happens that makes this book hard to put down. The details are so clear that I'm able to visualize the story as I read it. I truly can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Sunrise by Susan May Warren is the first book in the Sky King Ranch. The story is set in Alaska and I was cold reading it.

The book is very well written and the beginning of an intense new series. Dodge was always set to take over Sky Ranch from his dad. Because of a betrayal he leaves and joins the military. He has been flying since he was a kid. He was a hero in the military. Now he is home to help his dad.

Echo, the woman he always thought he would marry is still in town. She has her own issues. As they reconnect, we find out what happened between them before he left for the military. I loved the addition of her dogs.

I am looking forward to Ranger’s story.

Sunrise is the first in a new series by Susan May Warren - Sky King Ranch. It is set in contemporary Alaska. It contains reference to characters from other books - I think as the series continues, those characters may take a bigger role in the stories.

This story has themes of forgiveness, moving on from the past and love. Susan weaves faith into the story along with redemption. It was a good story with a mix of romance, mystery, bears and well, poachers. I felt that the ending was a little bit easy but that didn't take away from the story itself.

I got this free in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this story and I have ordered it for my library. I look forward to following the series/

Sunrise by Susan May Warren travels to Alaska for a bear adventure through the wilderness. With the start of Warren's Montana Rescue series, she loves to travel to outlanding destinations and allow her heroines and heroes to fight the elements mixed with their fight for their hearts. In Sunrise, readers are introduced to Dodge, the oldest of the triplets born under the Sky Range Ranch. Readers also are introduced to Echo, his love who denied him his happily-ever-after. The plot definitely has plenty of action through the wilderness with the snow and bears fighting for the overwhelming plot twist. I had no problem flipping through the pages of the story, wanting more. The romance leaps forward with hints of what happened in the past. Understanding sparks through the pages of the story. Warren does wonderful job at crafting a wilderness that I wanted to travel to and venture around. Overall, Sunrise by Susan May Warren is wonderful story that takes place in Alaska and allows readers to fully engage in the story. I can't wait to read more stories in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of Sunrise by Susan May Warren from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Sunrise by Susan May Warren is an excellent book that has it all: adventure, romance, suspense, mystery, and it is all set within the stunning location of Alaska.

This book is the first in a new series: Sky King Ranch. I just loved this.

I loved reading the separate stories of Dodge and Echo. They are such fascinating and complicated characters with blotched pasts and troubles that are internal and externally placed. They both have a complicated past with one another as well. Brought back into one another’s lives a decade later, they both find those feelings that were pushed deep down, are now resurfacing.

The descriptions of Alaska are just stunning. The landscapes, life, town, nature, and animals are just so vivid, real, and breathtaking. The author has a real talent in depicting her surroundings.

Through this beautiful story chocked full of suspense, drama, heroics, and triumphs both are able to learn to turn to God and their faith for forgiveness towards their family members, one another, and within themselves.

I came for the romance and Alaska, but I left with so much more. I can’t wait to read about Colt and Ranger’s stories.

5/5 stars
