Parks are one of my favorite community resources. This book illustrates the many uses of parks and how they are heartbeats of cities and towns. The book embraces diversity throughout the pages, showing that all are welcome in parks and that parks are a place to come together. Lovely illustrations and I was overjoyed to see the author notes that encourage readers to design parks one day for those who don't have access.

I loved the diversity of people in all of the illustrations! All parks are a vital part of the community.

This book is about the many positives of having a park in your neighborhood. At the end, there are many facts about who was instrumental in bringing neighborhood parks all across the United States.

After you read this, you will want to visit your neighborhood park.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

This was a great book, quick and easy read for children too. What I loved the most was the range of emotions it covered and the illustrations. The illustrations offered color and vibrancy on every page and there was so much to look at, while reading. The story was good too, and it really encouraged the reader to visit their local park, share it with others, take care of it and enjoy yourselves.

This might be one of my favorite picture books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading on NetGalley. The story draws attention to community and nature in a way that is accessible to children, celebrating all the joys that parks bring to our lives. But the illustrations for me are where this book really shines. There is a bright palette of greens and blues that draw you into the feel of a park, with a sense of movement and action driven by the angles, lines, and brush strokes. There is also a diverse cast of characters celebrating all the different ways that we use parks — people who use wheelchairs, all different types of families, many different skin tones, and different ages. I really look forward to purchasing this for our classroom library.

A celebration of our public parks and the space they provide for adventure, fun, and community. I think this book encompasses why parks are so wonderful in a beautiful way.

As an elementary librarian, I have read so many children's books, but unfortunately not every children's book is suitable for story time. However, you would be hard-pressed to find a book more perfect for read-alouds than this one. My one complaint is that I read it at 10:30 PM at night and that it is way too late to go out to my local park! Seriously, this book is so good. It's text is simple but impactful, making it ideal for even you most fidgety K-2 students. The illustrations are downright gorgeous and include so many different kinds of people that it made my heart absolutely burst. There were people of every race, size, and shape, there was LGBTQ+ representation, as well as disabled representation! The message of this books is that parks are for everyone, and the illustrations certainly back up that statement. If your students have a love of parks, or just love being outside, I guarantee they will absolutely adore this charming little story. This was possibly one of the most beautiful and lyrical books I have ever read, and I can't wait to purchase a copy for my students!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
