This was such a sweet story. I loved the doggy aspect and how it brought a bunch of different characters together. Ruby is the perfect protagonist and really kept me wanting more. It was lovely and easy to listen to and I'd highly recommend!

Let’s start with the things I enjoyed:
-Great narration with different narrators for the dual POV
-The premise was unique and centered around a dog, you can’t be mad about that
-There were some funny and cute situations that made it fun

What I didn’t like:
-The characters were a tad shallow and immature
-There wasn’t a whole lot of plot
-I don’t get the title, it doesn’t fit the premise of the book and I feel like while the characters started off not liking each other it wasn’t a true enemies to lovers
-Towards the middle it got slow and boring, not much happened throughout

It was a light and funny read but nothing I absolutely adored about it. Just ok for me.

This audiobook had just what I was looking for with an adorable cover and a synopsis that was cute and cozy. I am a sucker for enemies to lovers/sunshine and grump combination and was intrigued from the start.

The story starts when Ruby is attempting to register a dog that is not her own into the West Coast Classic Dog show. She meets Spencer who happens to be a veterinarian and judge for the show. Misunderstandings happen and Ruby’s competitive nature comes out (she is a former beauty queen). From there on there is witty banter, adorable dogs, sassy older women, twins and so much more.

I enjoyed the dual perspective of the narrator’s and thought their voices brought depth to the story. It was an easy listen and I would definitely recommend it.

I want to thank NetGalley, Lucy Gilmore and Dreamscape Media for this audiobook. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.

This was such a fun enemies to lovers romance. It had the sunshine and grumpy trope in it as well! I really enjoyed this book and found once I started it, I was hooked!

I found the romance between Ruby and Spencer to be very realistic. The banter between them was so fun. I also loved the side characters in this book, especially Spencer’s twin brother, Caleb. I loved the premise of the dog show in this book, I thought it was super unique! I also enjoyed how the chapters had alternating POVs. I thought this was a really fun book, and I would recommend it! There are a few steamy moments in this book. So if you’re a fan of steamier romance books, you will love this one!

Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this book. I needed a good romcom and this one was it. It's another book of enemies turn lovers, and throw in a bunch of cute dogs and you got yourself an afterschool special. The constant back and forth bickering has me thinking ( and yelling...) OH MY GOD JUST KISS HER ALREADY. And then they finally did. The audiobook was great. It was a good narrator who brought a tone of sass to Ruby, which I think she needed.

This was overall really cute. It had some of my fav tropes and I had a good time! The dogs were an adorable part of the story as well.

A huge thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for providing me a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

When I requested this book I didn't read what it was about I saw dogs on the cover and knew it would be a cute love story. AND I was not wrong. Ruby Taylor is a ex beauty queen and she wanted to get as far away from that as possible and is working in a nursing home letting everyone run over her. She lost a it of herself during her pageant days and giving it up not only gave her her freedom but she also lost a part of herself.

So when one day when one of the residents guilt trips her into entering her god into a dog show saying it was her dying wish she gets guilted into it. The only problem is this dog isn't trained like any other show dog. This dog is lazy and has a mind of her own. No matter what she try's this dog does the opposite. One of the judges tell her this dog isn't a show dog and try's to not let her enter but she is going to let one more person tell her she can't. That's all she's herd because of her pretty face. She's going to prove him wrong and make this dog the best show dog and win the whole thing. Ha easier said then done!

But getting back on stage and trying to get this dog into pageant shape awakens the drive she's been missing. So maybe this is a blessing in disguise?

The audio was fantastic and it made me laugh out loud and was cute and he dog was ridiculous in the best way.

Thank you NetGalley for this Audio Arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was a really fun quick read! I enjoyed all of the dog content throughout this one. I do think that the characters and the relationship could have been a little more developed. I felt like the relationship kind of came out of the blue, there wasn’t a whole lot of buildup. I liked the characters enough but I wasn’t obsessed with their relationship, I think they could have had some more deep conversations to strengthen the bond. Overall this is a very light and cute romance! This audiobook was really well done and fun to listen too!

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy to review. Parts of the book were fun to read but I was bored in others. The perfect-ness of the main characters’ looks seemed rather unrealistic which was very hard to relate to. I think that sat with me too much and overpowered an otherwise enjoyable read. 3.5 stars. The narrators were very enjoyable to listen to.

It’s been a decade since Ruby stopped performing in beauty pageants and she has been working as a nursing assistant in a senior home. When one of her residents wants her to show her dog Wheezy in a show what Ruby lacks in experience, she more than makes up for in motivation especially when she meets Spencer, one of the judges, who does everything he can to deter her.

Spencer is a veterinarian who is serious about everything in life but in particular when it comes to the reputation of the dog show. He doesn’t believe that there is any way that Wheezy can complete but spending time with Ruby as she tries to prepare Wheezy may just change the way he looks at life and love.

Both Ruby and Spencer find themselves dealing with their own insecurities and some family drama which only makes them more relatable. There is a great cast of secondary characters including some canines which only make the story better. The narrators did a great job with the story and the characters.

I think the most charming thing about this book (besides all the doggos of course) was the fact that Caleb and Spencer are two grown *** adults, and they literally duct taped the house in half like they're teenagers sharing a bedroom. For some reason I found it hilarious and something that I could believe two siblings would do in real life.

I enjoyed the banter back and forth between the characters, and the fact that Ruby was so confident in herself and what she did. I wasn't as annoyed at the "Big Fight" like I thought I would be. I actually thought it was handled pretty well, given the circumstances. I can't wait to read more books by this author.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for allowing me to listen to the audiobook.

Think of unleashing mr Darcy!!!!!
It’s like a snarky grumpy guy meets pageant Queen sunshine! Super cute and of course involves dogs which made it ten time better!

This book was SPICY!! But I absolutely loved it. The story of how a girl tries to make a terribly behaved dog a dog show champion, and how one of the judges has no faith that she can actually accomplish it! Naturally, it's an enemies to friends trope which I LOVE, and this one has just that extra spice that everyone needs in their life every now and then.

I would recommend this audiobook to library patrons who are looking for a romantic comedy, especially people who like dogs or are interested in dog shows. There were several very funny moments that made me laugh out loud. The audiobook readers were very good.

I would have rated it higher but for a too-light-hearted approach to two creepy male characters. The main female character's boss was an elder abuser and it disturbed me that no one reported him to a licensing board, etc. I also thought the way the main male character's twin brother treated the main female character was problematic.

I thought it was a cute listen! I didn't really get attached to either character, but thought it was a fun listen. I love a fun story with a happily ever after.

I absolutely LOVED this book. What’s better than dogs and romance?!? I love the connection between humans and dogs.

Former beauty queen, Ruby is used to being seen as a pretty face and having people assume she has no brains. One of her elderly patients at the retirement community she works at convinces her to enter her dog in dog show as a dying wish. The show is run by a handsome vet, Spencer, who knows instantly that the “golden retriever” isn’t real what his papers say and is never going to win. Ruby is determined to prove him wrong and begins the difficult task of turning the dog into the champion she believes he is.

The story of Ruby and her family will be able to relatable to many. Spencer has his own family problems and a very special relationship twin brother that many don’t understand.

Thanks NetGalley and Lucy Gilmore for the advance copy of this book.

A sunshine + grump combo, plus a dog had me super excited for this one! Overall, it was cute, quite fluffy, but it wasn't a stand-out rom com. I had a good time reading it and would definitely recommend it as a fun, light read!
