I received an ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review . I enjoyed this book and found it to be “silly cute” it was based around a dog show and that really doesn’t appeal to me per se so I found myself zoning out a little bit at times . Apologies for not getting it finished before the release date .

I was not able to finish this book.
References to erotica which started off with “pegging” were over the top (I read a lot of erotica and have never come across this) and it felt unnecessary and misplaced in what looks to be a RomCom.
Aside from this the reference to the brother pissing in the sink in his “1/2 the house” was weird… in fact the whole splitting of the house was weird. I could have gotten over these if this was truly and enemies to lovers story as the title suggests, but it really just feels like a guy with a crush and a girl who is just not interested.
This one missed the mark for me. The banter is lacking and the “enemies” part is very weak.

This was a cute book but just middle of the road. The story felt extremely disjointed. They MCs went from stand-offish to hot & heavy, and back to stand-offish. Lather, rinse, repeat. The attempts to create drama were only partially successful, but kind of fell flat. The pageant backstory “lessons” felt forced. The secondary characters were kind of dull and lacked backstory (though I loved Ava!). It’s a good book to listen to while doing something else. The narrators were great and their voices suited the characters.

DISCLAIMER: I received this book free from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This book was soo good. Some parts had me laughing hard while others broke my heart. Ruby is one kickass woman and Spencer, wow. I also really loved the cast of side characters. This book was so well written and the story developed wonderfully. The character development felt authentic and realistic. I seriously cared about them and what they were going through the whole time.

I have no words for how much I loved this audio book! The narrators were amazing. The story was awesome!
I look forward to more from Lucy Gilmore.

I listened to an audiobook version of this book and it was really well done! I loved that there were two narrators for the two POVs and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them and what they brought to the characters and the story. I’d recommend it for sure!

As for the story, it was a ton of fun right off the bat. From the dog show competition to the stubborn dog and equally stubborn main character and love interest to his funny twin— I had a blast with this. The romance was super sweet but my favourite part was that the main character, Ruby, never let herself be changed for Spencer. She held true to herself and what she needed out of love and I deeply appreciated that!

If you love dogs and romance with a hint of spice and drama— look out for this one! It just came out so go get yourself a copy today!

4/5 ⭐️

I Hate You More is a must-read rom-com for fans of Teri Wilson's 'Unleashing Mr. Darcy'. Lucy Gilmore wrote a cute and flirty enemies to lovers romance.

Ruby is a nursing assistant in her late twenties who gets roped into entering a dog show. One of her patients asks her a huge favor. The patient has a golden retriever named Wheezy and wants Ruby to help Wheezy win in a dog show as her dying wish. Ruby can't say no. So, she walks in to register Wheezy for the West Coast Canine Classic and the fun begins.

Ruby meets a pair of hot men who also happen to be twins, Caleb and Spencer. Spencer is one of the judges and is a bit of a stickler for the rules. He likes to have things done right and doesn't stray too far from his boundaries. On the other hand, Caleb is a flirt. He is definitely the life of the party.

When Ruby has to find a trainer to help Wheezy, Caleb volunteers for the job. And when she walks in for her first sessions with Caleb at his house, she realizes that both of the Wilson twins will be in her life for some time. That is because they live together...but separated. Trust me, you will understand when you read it.

Spencer and Ruby have instant chemistry but are so different. While Ruby says what's on her mind, Spencer likes to keep things to himself. But they both connect when it comes to dogs. Spencer is so good with them and can be so helpful with Wheezy. And as they learn more about each other the feelings follow.

I really loved Ruby and Spencer's witty banter and flirting. The author really balanced the story well. There were laugh-out-loud moments, passionate moments, and heartrending scenes that tied so perfectly together. And add in a cute dog with a fun personality and you have me sucked in.

I give I Hate You More 5 stars. It's a hilarious enemies to lovers romance that you won't be able to put down. The characters are so fantastic together and the dogs steal the show. I just loved this book because it read like a Hallmark movie. If you love romance and love dogs, then you have to pick up a copy.

Thank you NetGalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I usually have trouble following audiobooks (my mind tends to wander while I’m listening, so I usually stick to books), but with this author and the cover of the book, I wanted to give this one a try and I’m so happy I did. The narrators of I Hate You More are incredible. They bring this book to life and I had no problems following the story. As an animal lover, I enjoyed the dog show storyline and the main character and the lead up to which guy she was really interested in (I guessed early on, but that didn’t impact my enjoyment of the story).

It was cute, it was fun and fluffy, it was fine. The concept was okay, but I struggle to have sympathy for a protagonist whose main struggle seems to boil down to “I hate that everyone wants to do things for me because I’m so pretty and it just makes my life unbearable” (I know there’s a bit more to it, but that’s the major idea). The supporting characters (the dog, the little old lady, etc.) were the ones who really made the story for me. Anyway, if you’re looking for a lighthearted romance about beautiful people who love dogs, then this one might be for you.

I really enjoyed both of the narrators for this audibook. The story itself took some time for me to get into and I never really felt a strong connection to any of the characters. Overall, I did enjoy listening to this audiobook!

This was a cute and easy to follow audiobook. It follows an enemy to lovers story line. You have a bit of everything: animals for pet lovers, twin brothers, steamy scenes, emotional and career growth/ advancement.
Although the MC love story was cute the majority of the book, I didn’t find myself really connecting or rooting for them.

I loved this audiobook! The narrator was fantastic. I thought so wholesome … dog show… crushes on guys…then BAM .. 🔥🔥🔥😳😳😳. I loved it.

I went into this fully expecting it to be like the movie Unleashing Mr. Darcy with some sex sprinkled in. This is sort of like that but the characters are a bit more rough around the edges.
The two leads took some time to warm up too and the story had a slow start. However the animal and side characters were delightful and I enjoyed the scenes with them the most.
The narration was good too.
My overall impression was that this was okay. Solid 3/5.

Ruby is a former beauty Queen who now works as a CNA and helps out her favorite residents in her spare time - which is how she ended up entering a pampered golden retriever, Wheezy, into a pedigreed dog show. She’s sick of being overlooked and valued seemingly only because of her looks. Spencer is a gruff veterinarian who is the lead judge for the dog show - and he’s not happy about Wheezy’s entry. He’s used to being overlooked when compared to his charming, favored twin brother. Through shenanigans like dog show preparations and joint babysitting, Ruby and Spencer get to know each other and learn that first impressions aren’t everything.

I really enjoyed listening to Ruby and Spencer’s story! Their banter was light and fun, and their chemistry fantastic🔥🔥. This was a great audiobook; the narrators did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. All of the extra characters - older women at the retirement community, Spencer’s brother, Caleb, and other friends and family added to the story. I loved the scenes about the retirement community’s book club. 😂🔥 I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a fun rom-com with two strong leads (and dogs!) 🐾

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy of this audiobook. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Loved this fun enemies to lovers romcom. At first I enjoyed trying to figure out who the mc was going to end up with the. It became obvious. I picked it up because it centered around a dog competition and I am a huge dog fan. This didn’t disappoint. The dog almost stole the book!

This enemies-to-lovers romcom starring a grumpy dog show judge and a determined former beauty queen was an absolute blast to listen to. I loved how the narrators brought the story to life in the way that they did.

Ruby gave up on the pageant life the day she turned eighteen and has figured she'd never look back. But that all changes when an old friend begs her to show her beloved Golden Retriever at the upcoming Canine Classic, Ruby reluctantly steps back into a version of the pageant life to be presentable for the dog show.

Something that she thought would be an easy in and out event to do becomes so much more.

Veterinarian, Spencer, happens to be a judge for the local dog show. He advises Ruby to quit while she still can, but her old fervor for winning has returned―and she wants to show the stern, broody-eyed judge that she's more than just a pretty face. In the end, she'll show him who's best in show. This stubborn woman wont back down and neither will he.

I couldn't get enough of the romance that bloomed between these two. The hate to love was so well done. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this audiobook.

This is a cute enemies-to-lovers romance about a former beauty queen trying to find success and earn her way in life based on her abilities and not her looks. Ruby is tired of being underestimated based on her appearance, and sets an unreasonable goal for herself of entering and winning a dog show with a dog of dubious pedigree and zero training. Enter Spencer, the surliest of dog show judges and stickler for rules, and you've got a crackling romance in bloom. I liked that the nerdier paramour won the gal, Good character development all the way around. Mrs. Orson, the dog's owner and resident of the retirement community where Ruby works, turns out to have her own secrets that are revealed at the end.

The audio narration was good, but I definitely preferred the female performer to the male.

Recommended brain candy.

I Hate You More by Lucy Gilmore
Contemporary romantic comedy. Enemies to lovers troupe. Sunshine / grumpy troupe.
Ruby is determined to have Wheezy the Golden Retriever in the local canine competition. Judge Spencer knows Wheezy doesn’t have a chance but his twin brother Caleb jumps in and offers to train the slightly overweight and overindulged dog for the show.
Caleb is charming and a handful but it’s Spencer that has caught Ruby’s interest.

I loved the banter between Ruby and Spencer as well as between Spencer and Caleb. The story was fill with heart, the adorable and lazy Wheezy, and some family dynamics that made the brothers real. Doesn’t every sibling have a bit of rivalry that is encased in love? There was also more heat and risqué than I expected from a romcom.
Lots of bumps and resolutions and sentimental titillation.

🎧 the audiobook is narrated by Alex Knox and Macy Sterling. These two did an amazing job with the audio performance. Alternating chapters had each doing more than one voice that were clear and easy to follow. I was enamored with Alex Knox, sure that he was a local newscaster. Nope. I looked him up and tracked down a photo from his website. I will watch for him in the future. I listened to this at 1.2 which is my preference. It would have also been fine at 1.4 or 1.0 depending on the situation.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media.

The book “I Hate You More” by Lucy Gilmore was a cute and quick enemies to lovers with a unique dog show competition backdrop. I listened to the audiobook and both narrators did a great job. This book is told in dual perspectives following Ruby and Spencer. Ruby had a fun, quirky, and caring personality and I enjoyed learning about her pageant background and how that shaped her. Spencer was grumpy, judgemental and extremely competitive. I loved the relationship he had with his twin brother Caleb. The best character in the story was by far Wheezy, the overweight Golden Retriever. He stole my heart from page one and honestly, I mostly kept listening just for his sake. He had the biggest personality and some things he did literally made me “awe” out loud. If you're a dog person then you will definitely be in love with him.

The overall story for me was just okay. From the beginning of the story I felt like the pacing was off. It didn’t start out strong or have a great build up instead it just stayed slow moving. I personally didn’t feel the chemistry between Ruby and Spencer. It seemed a little forced and it definitely had insta-attraction which isn’t my favorite. I’m still wondering why Ruby chose Spencer and not Caleb. I literally had to reread the blurb to see who the main love interest was after Ruby and Caleb’s first interaction. I felt like those two hit it off better and got along better together. There isn’t a love triangle in this story between the three but there easily could have been if attraction/obsession wasn’t involved. Since I found the chemistry between Ruby and Spencer lacking I found their steamy scene to be awkward and uncomfortable. I’m not sure if it was the writing or just the fact that it was between these two characters. Either way I found myself speed reading through which is something I usually don’t do.

If you're looking for a cute, funny, enemies to lovers romcom with an actual plot then I say give this one a try. Even though I didn’t connect with the two main characters I stayed around for Wheezy and was happy I did.
