I love Jackie Ashenden's books! Find Your Way Home is the start of a new series and I loved it. This is the story of Chase and Izzy who meet after Izzy joins a group of women traveling to New Zealand on a whim. The chemistry between them is palpable from the pages (and it gets a little spicy at times). Overall, this is a story of trust, healing, friendship, and taking a leap! I adore these characters of Brightwater Valley, NZ and can't wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book- a great grab for the vacation bag! Enjoy:)

I love a good small town story and that’s exactly what this is as it’s deemed a “small town dreams” book. The first in a new series with great characters and descriptions. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of Find Your Way Home. I was initially approved for this book back when it came out in April, but life got in the way and I wasn’t able to read it until right before book two in the series (the Small Town Dreams series) came out near the end of November, and man, I really enjoyed this book, so I’m so glad I read it!
Find Your Way Home 4/5 Stars
Summary from Goodreads: He's hell-bent on telling her what to do.
She's determined to make it on her own.
They're both going to learn a thing or two about first impressions.
Brightwater Valley, New Zealand, is beautiful, rugged, and home to those who love adventure. But it's also isolated and on the verge of becoming a ghost town.

When the town puts out a call to its sister city of Deep River, Alaska, hoping to entice people to build homes and businesses in Brightwater, ex paratrooper Chase Kelly is all for it. He sees the benefits of building the economy, but only if those who come to Brightwater are ready for its challenges. Former oil executive Isabella Montgomery and her plan to open an art gallery don't seem up to the test. Now Chase is determined to help her learn the ways of his formidable hometown.
I really enjoyed Find Your Way Home! Izzy and Chase were great main characters and I really liked them as an introduction to this series! The town of Brightwater Valley seems like such a quaint, cute little town and I could definitely understand why people like Chase would want to save it and make it more financially prosperous, especially for his daughter. And I loved how even though Izzy was definitely from the city, that didn’t really seem to bother her when she was trying to settle into Brightwater Valley! Plot and pacing wise, I think everything that happened made sense in the way that it happened and the timing in which it happened. And it definitely made me want to read books two and three! I would for sure recommend picking up Find Your Way Home today!

Isabella Montgomery is a last-minute addition to a trio of women heading to New Zealand to help a small town build more tourism. Her current life in Houston crumbled down around her feet and she really has no reason to stay in Texas. Getting away from everything for a short time just might be what the doctor ordered. Running into a grumpy, know-it-all has Isabella bristling.

Chase Kelly is supportive of the initiative to encourage people from Brightwater Valley, NZ’s sister city, Deep River, AK to come to NZ and settle down, start families, and open businesses. The latest group of women to heed the call doesn’t impress him much. He goes into their meeting already frowning and feeling like the three newcomers won’t be up to the challenge. The non-Alaskan particularly ruffles his feathers.

Find Your Way Home is a book so good it’s unputdownable. I read the book in two days. When I couldn’t read the book (pesky work and stuff), I thought about Chase and Isabella. I dwelled on their past lives and how the treatment and hurt from people who are supposed to love you molded them into who they are today. I relished in the chemistry and the sparks the author expertly portrayed. I felt their interest, frustration, tension, protective nature, and most of all, their love. Love not just for each other but for everyone around them. For having such tragic pasts, they both embody a giving nature.

This masterpiece is small town loveliness at its finest!!! 💕😘

I loved this as much, or more, than Jackie’s Alaska series, & if you haven’t read that one yet 😯 you definitely should!

Brightwater Valley sounds absolutely breathtaking 🥰 the descriptions were on point, & I felt like I could’ve been walking down the street. And the characters all had unique & fun characteristics 💕 making it all the better!

Izzy is someone I would love to hang out with! She’s strong willed, smart, & always willing to help someone in need. On the other hand, Chase is such a cinnamon roll. He might be a little tough to get to know, but he’s loyal beyond belief to those he cares about.

I’m over the moon excited for more with these characters 💕💕 book 2 countdown is on!

Overall verdict: a lovable small town, with fantastic scenery, & characters you can’t help but cheer for ♥️ also a little steam sprinkled in 🥰 I definitely recommend it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This is an enjoyable start of a spin-off series from Ashenden's Deep River series. She's created a great new setting in a dying small town in New Zealand that is worth saving as much as the characters all looking for a second chance at love. There's plenty of romance, just the right amount of heat, and more than enough secondary character development to spark interest in the next book.

Small town romance with charming main characters & interesting secondary characters. Isabella is very likable with an unsupportive family, while single dad Chase does everything for his family & the town. The chemistry is sizzling & the enemies quickly turned to a friends with benefits situation, which turned serious once they came to terms with their feelings.

I received this advance review copy from from NetGalley & the publisher for my honest review.

I enjoyed this one - I enjoy romances that have chemistry and the "enemies to lovers" trope or at least unwarranted friction between the main characters. I would recommend for fans of the underestimated woman, I.e. The Simple Wild.
The characters had more depth to them than I first thought and it was an engaging enjoyable read.

What a fun read in a fabulous location. I do want to visit my neighbours in NZ one day.
Three young women from the USA come to New Zealand to start a business. It's a small town with sparse facilities and communication, can they survive?
Izzy pretty much ran away from her problems at home. Dumped by her fiancé, a lack of support from her family and a job loss. Who wouldn't want to start fresh as far away as possible?
I enjoyed her story, she found what she needed in her life.
I've not read this author before so I'm excited to see what else she has written. This was a beautiful second chance romance and I loved every minute.

A promising start to Small Town Dreams, Find Your Way Home is a story of what was, what is and what can be. I liked the character and the story and will look to read more.

I was really interested in reading and reviewing this book. Author Jackie Ashenden is a new-to-me author and it looked like a fascinating read. I am thrilled that I got to read Find Your Way Home. Not only was it interesting and informative but, the story line actually drew you in. The descriptions of New Zealand were compelling to the point that I could actually see and feel what was being described. The characters were all different and opposites attracting was a major theme of the story.

Chase was really grumpy throughout most of this story. He had everyone baffled since he was normally easy-going, relaxed and easy to get along with. It seems that they only thing that changed was one Isabella Montgomery stepping into his space. Now, nothing seems to be going the way he wanted. Isabella went to Brightwater Valley on a whim. Her life was falling apart and she just needed a clean break. Too bad she didn’t plan a little bit better for the trip or for her reaction to one Chase Kelly. She adapted and tried to fight the growing attraction to Chase. He was making it extremely easy until he wasn’t. Now, she feels like a dirty little secret. Even though everyone knows or suspects.

Now, throw in the complication of Gus and a batch of cupcakes and life gets extremely difficult for the two people who swore off love, who swore it was just casual, and now swore that they would never leave Brightwater.

I loved this romance. It was bitter and sweet at the same time. Chase had issues that he just needed to let go, a wall that needed knocking down. Izzy needed her life to change, to stand on her own two feet and to feel wanted and loved. Together they learned that home definitely was where the heart was.

Find Your Way Home by Jackie Ashenden is a new series about a remote town in New Zealand. The town is slowly dying but Chase Kelly has a plan to help get more people to join the town. Enter Isabella Montgomery. She has left everything she knew to start again (at least for the three months) and is hoping that she can find her way. Chase doesn’t like Isabella’s (Izzy) idea and seems to be mad at her all the time. In reality Chase can’t stop thinking about Izzy and Izzy can’t stop thinking about him. Both have wicked trust issues. Both have been treated poorly by those that “love” them.

I loved the idea of the novel. A town that is slowly dying, wanting to get more people in. I loved their solution. I loved how Izzy was so willing to make a change and find a new path for her. Find Your Way Home by Jackie Ashenden was a good read. I am looking forward to the next novel about another citizen in Brightwater Valley.

Find Your Way Home by Jackie Ashenden is book one in this contemporary series. It is a well written romance story that takes you away to Brightwater Valley, New Zealand. For those who have read some previous stories in the series about Deep River, Alaska, this town in New Zealand is the sister city. The story is well written, with defined characters in Izzy and Chase. These two have so many issues but it is interesting how they come together. This book maintained my interest through the entire book. I recommend it.
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my review.

After Isabella is unceremoniously dumped by both the board of the family business and her fiancé, she impulsively decides to join a campaign to bring people to a small town in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand.

The premise sounded really amazing, and I loved the setting (though I would have loved more descriptions of the nature - it sounds absolutely beautiful). However, the story quickly moves away from that and towards the characters and their relationships. Chase and Isabella clash from the very start, but Chase‘s daughter adored Isabella - and anyway, it’s not easy to keep a distance and avoid each other when you’re living in a really small town.

The relationship between Chase and Isabella did develop at a reasonable pace, though, and I enjoyed how mature they were about their feelings. I especially appreciated how openly they talked about everything. There was no unnecessary drama and the conflicts that did arise were natural and well developed.

All in all, this was a super quick read for me and I enjoyed that it had some depth in the emotional backstories of both main characters. I would have liked for the premise to be explained a bit more, but I guess there’s always time for that in the sequels!

4.25/5 stars.

Oh this story has feed my need to go visit New Zealand. It is the story of Chase a hometown boy and Isabella coming to start a business with two other girls. Wink wink I think more stories are coming our way in this series.

Our heroine has been dealt several big blows and decided to run away from home to go reinvent herself. Our hero is a single dad trying to do his best to keep his small town alive and take care of his 12 year old daughter.

This is a good story which embraces the typical romance storytelling aspects. I think if you like traditional romance, this would be a beautiful addition to your collection.

Happy Reading Everyone!
