This book drug me out of a reading slump. It shows that everyone has love in them, and that you don’t always have to say the words to show your love. The words help a lot thou!
The perfect enemies to lovers, fake dating, and finding your true soul mate no matter the cost.
The writing for this book was phenomenal, and I could not put it down. Very pleased with the book and the author!

Adored this book. Started this on a night, when it was way too late for me to actually start a new book, but I really wanted to find the answer to an Easter egg that Nisha Sharma dropped in her TikTok. Figured I would find out the answer and then come back to the book when I had time. Only I didn't want to put it down, however the need for sleep prevailed (my iPad kept falling on my face). I finished this book Thursday night, and it's so good. It's funny - it doesn't rely on physical comedy/slapstick, which some "romcoms" do. That's not saying that it's completely void of that - there's a scene involving throwing samosas. Plus my favorite is the pani puri eating contest. The banter makes you smile, or even laugh out loud. There are also dating app/services interludes.

While I adore Kareena, it's really Prem that makes the book for me, and that's because it's got so much hero pining in it. Which is one of my favorite things in M/F romances.

DATING DR DIL is a retelling of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. The only thing I know and Taming of the Shrew I learned from watching 10 Things, I Hate About You. So if that's a movie you enjoy, this book needs to go on your TBR

Content Notes: death of parent (off page), death of fianceé (off page), allergic episode, hospital scene,

Great recipes and pop culture references. The characters have good chemistry and overall paced nicely with lots of interesting characters.

Did I read this in one day because I didn't want to put it down? Absolutely.
Did I need to break to make curry in a shallow attempt to stop my cravings after reading the delicious descriptions Sharma writes? 100 percent.
Do I plan to read the rest of this series and the rest of Sharma's books? Already downloaded.

Sharma writes a heartwarming, spicy, Indian American, Taming of the Shrew retelling. Our Dr. Dil puts Heath Ledger to shame with his love and support of Rina, though it doesn't begin that way.

Kareena and Prem meet at a bar, but when he thinks there's a family emergency he literally leaves her tied up. Understandably, when she sees him the next day, she is not too pleased. And the fact he is disparaging love marriages seemingly like a "desi fuckboy," she calls him out and the video goes viral.

Now does he think she's a witch that has ruined his reputation and dream? Yes, and calls her that to her face.
Now, does a food fight ensue in front of her family? You'll have to read to find out how their passion and mutual interests bring them together.

I love a hero that doesn't believe in love, but knows he wants forever with the heroine (what on earth could that mean???), and a smart, capable heroine that knows what she deserves (and goes for it!). Ending the book, you'll know that Prem and Kareena are a match that will stand the test of time.

Quotes in just the first 20% of the book:
"Damn it, it was if her body recognized him."
"Kareena may be his nemesis, but he wasn't going to lie and say she was anything but the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen."
"They spoke in tandem, and Prem had no idea how to process the twin feelings of lust and unadulterated rage clouding his brain. Despite the presence of aunties in the room, he really wanted to bend her over and spank her. Hard. And then leave her crying and wanting more."

Read for enemies to lovers, fake dating, banter, shower sex, and more! I can't wait for the rest of the series (hopefully starring the besties!).

THIS BOOK DESERVES ALL OF THE STARS
Enemies to lovers.. fake dating... he doesn't believe in love... literally what more could you want? This is absolutely my favorite romcom I've read in so long! The banter is exquisite, it's dual POV, the female mc is a badass and THERE'S SPICE. Not to mention the South Asian rep is AMAZING.

If you're not convinced yet.... it ends with a Taylor Swift playlist<33333

Actual rating: 4.5/5

Dating Dr. Dil was a fun read! It had spice and it had the fake-dating & enemies-to-lovers tropes!
What more could you love?

Kareena our main heroine, is a lawyer, who obsesses over love and has always idolized her parents marriage. So when her father desi decides to sell her mother's home Kareena makes a deal with him. She will need to find her true love in four months and get married in order to save her childhood home.

Enter Dr. Dil (Dr. Prem Verma), a popular TV doctor who doesn't believe in love.
The two meet and have a very public argument that goes viral.

After the viral argument takes place, Prem needs to fix his tarnished reputation and Kareena is still determined to save her childhood house - so what could be better than a girl who believes in love and a guy who doesn't to fake a relationship?

The more time they spend together the more muddled the relationship gets. Prem begins to question if Kareen truly is his soulmate and begins to question his original stance on love.

But is it too late since Kareen knows his stance on all things love and romance?

Great writing, great plot, amazing characters. and Kareena is the bad a** heroine we all need in our lives!

Thank you to NetGalley, Nisha Sharma, and Avon and Harper Voyager for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars! This was unputdownable! (literally, I finished this at 3am)

Dating Dr. Dil is a hilarious romantic comedy inspired by The Taming of the Shrew about a TV doctor that doesn't believe in love who begrudgingly must convince a love-obsessed lawyer they are destined to be together as both their futures depend on it.

After an very public argument with Dr. Prem Verma goes viral, Kareena Mann's options become depressingly limited. Even though their views on love-marriages and arranged-marriages are polar opposites, the more time Prem spends with Kareena, the more he begins to believe she’s the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with - but without love, will he ever be able to convince Kareena he is the man she should marry?

This book is filled with tropes in a good way, and is definitely steamy! This was one of those rare instances where I got so sucked into this story I forgot I was even reading. The characters chemistry on the page is so strong its straight up magical!

ARC kindly provided in exchange for my honest review.

Cute and readable. It was also a little steamier than I expected. Will be an easy hand sell. I will definitely be reading future books in this series.

I'm obsessed with this book! Every single one of Nisha's books are amazing, but this is so clearly her best work and I could not be more excited for everyone to read Dating Dr. Dil. It combines the best aspects of all Nisha’s books--the desi magic from My So-Called Bollywood Life, the grounded relationship in Radha & Jai’s Recipe for Romance, and the fierce and swoonworthy romance of The Singh Family Trilogy. Prem and Kareena stole my heart and I need everyone to be talking about this book leading up to its publication in March.

I am so sure I will show my excitement in the most unusual ways! Probably some awkward sounds like cheering chicken gurgling its throat with Glenlivet ( trust me I always do the exact same sound when I get extra cheerful: like seeing my husband bring me boxes of wines to make me shut up or while I’m counting Ryan Gosling’s abs muscles aloud! ) I also screamed several Wows, Whoopsies and Whoas !

You may get from my reactions what I mean: this book is absolutely BIG WINNER!

Most of you read my reviews know what I’m exactly looking for when I start a steamy, hilarious romcom!

I like good character development! I like sassy, sarcastic banters. I’m true fan of Enemies to Lovers troupe! I like steamy scenes as I’ve mentioned before. I like great humor, good side characters. I like good conflicts! Finally I love big gestures!

Maybe I got a little carried away and gave some semi spoilers by summarizing some important facts of the book. But this book seems like written for me! It checked all those boxes and answered all my expectations!

So I already reserved its place at my top five best romcoms of 2022 even though I only read a few romcom arcs. But I’m telling you my friends this book so definitely different, special and if you’re fan like reading sexy, steamy, smart, entertaining, laugh out loud romance books and crave for ultra delicious Indian food, this book is match made in heaven for you!

Well, Prem means “Love”, Dil means “Heart “in Hindi language and a man who is called with those names is pure scientist who’s insisting love doesn’t exist! Yes, this guy believes love is an illusion, a chemical reaction that endangers the hearts! We can start booing our hero! But don’t worry! He will make it up to us on several occasions during our reading journey!

And absurd thing about this doctor is he’s stuck with a woman who’s love obsessed, humiliating him in front of the viewers, losing his sponsorship from investors, threatening his entire career! Thanks to bunch of 4 aunties who force him to earn blessings of Kareena Mann!

They’ve met at the bar when Kareena stayed to have one more drink to celebrate her 30th birthday that her parents forgot! She met Prem( a.k.a. Dr. Dil) They had long conversation and learned a lot about each other. ( we will read parts from those long conversation during the related chapters!) When they decided to make up at the back office of bar, Prem got a phone call for family emergency and when he returned back he found the office empty! Kareena already left the building.

Their story starts like this. And when Kareena is drawn in Dr. Dil’s filming show by her irritating, extremely spoiled, influencer sister Bindu. He realizes the man on the show is the same guy who ditched her and she listens Prem’s humiliating comments about love which is probably last straw! She gets pissed. Things get escalated and viral.

Now they should fake their relationship because Prem needs to fix his tarnished reputation and Kareena needs a fiancée to convince her father to give the money he saved for her marriage to pay for their family house which has sentimental value for her. Both of them can get benefited from this arrangement. Love is not on the cards. Prem doesn’t believe in love and Kareena can’t fall for a robot like him who feels nothing. But… well you can guess that’s not how it goes, right!

Oh my goodness! This book is sooooo freaking AMAZING! Just focus on blazing five stars I gave and please read it and then thank me for my recommendation!

I’m so sure this will be a big hit! And I’m so excited to read more works of the author in near future!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, dear Nisha Sharma for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

If I had to describe Kareena and Prem's story in one word, it would be "passionate." As a desi, I liked reading about a couple in their 30's navigating the ups and downs of their relationship. However, at times I also found Kareena and Prem's behavior a bit juvenile, and I was not entirely convinced by Prem's explanation for his hesitation around using the word "love" and accepting it. I would have liked to see more of how he ended up developing that idea, as it is explained but not really explored in detail. As for the other characters, I found myself pretty frustrated with Kareena's family members. I felt for Kareena, as it seemed like everyone in her household was against her or took advantage of her, and I would have liked to see more acknowledgment of their behaviors and apologies - although being desi myself, I know that's something we see infrequently in real life. The struggle of balancing our parents' expectations and our own desires well into our adult years is a very real one, and Sharma captured it beautifully, with all the heartache that goes into it.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for giving me an ARC of this book!

I LOVED this book. It was the perfect mix of funny, sexy, and enjoyable- and the spicy scenes were hot for a romcom. The characters were completely relatable and I loved the aspects of Indian culture that were thrown into it. There was fake dating, enemies to lovers, and a heroine that doesn’t take shit from anyone… what’s not to love? I thought that the book was perfectly paced and the character development was believable. I also enjoyed that family and friends were a big part of the story too. I recommend this to everyone when it comes out for sure!!

Thank you NetGalley and Avon for an Arc in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book! It included a lot of tropes and details that I enjoyed and I learned a lot from it. I’m giving it 4.5 stars rounded up.

Kareena Mann is the main character who dreams of finding a love marriage and fixing up her mom’s house. When her dad announces he’s selling the home he offers her a chance to get it - if she can get engaged in four months. This is when she meets Prem, aka Dr. Dil, and things get more complicated.

I thought the two main characters went super well together and had a lot of chemistry. Prem annoyed me a little bit with his views, but I’m glad everything worked out for them. I loved also the aunties and they were probably my favorite characters throughout.

This is a fun book and great to use as a distraction! I highly recommend it for fans of romance.

I really enjoy Nisha's work. This story was fun but I liked it dealt with stereotypes. While not a member of the South Asian community I felt I learned a lot about it from this book.

Dating Dr. Dil is a delightful contemporary romance featuring a multifaceted heroine and an engaging hero, and a delightful resolution. Enemies to lovers; fake relationship romance that builds between Kareena and Prem was so entertaining to read.. It was a quick read and left me craving for more. I’m definitely gonna pick up more books by Nisha Sharma.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for an honest review.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK! There were so many little cultural details that I am obsessed with: the black kurta, the pain puri eating contest, the progressive but still nosy aunties, the iconic dadi! Nisha Sharma never fails to incorporate the most beautiful elements of South Asian culture and tradition into her books while also highlighting certain elements that should change. The romance in this book was so fun! As a huge fan of 10 things I hate about you, I knew I was going to love this book just from the cover. The actual storyline made it 100 times better. Desi fboys in books >>> Desi fboys in real life. Prem (Dr.Dil) was such a relatable character, and his relationship with his mom reminded me a lot of my relationship with my family. When he finally called his mom towards the end of the book, she was so funny! Prem's mom might have been my favorite character. This was such a fun book- perfect to take on vacation or to the pool. Reading this book is like escaping into a wholesome AU. It's so cute and I highly recommend it to all the contemporary romance lovers out there!

I wish I could read this book all over again for the first time. The aunties, south asian culture, humor, all had me wrapped up in this book.

Karina is our witty, book-wormy, romance-loving female protagonist who decides to go back into the dating world due to a bet she made with her desi father, which if she loses, could end in the selling of her childhood home. After a failed hook-up with Dr. Prim Dil, a man who we later find out doesn't believe in love, Karina is reluctant to ever see him again. However, due to bad timing and horrific luck, Karina not only ends up seeing him but also confronts him for leaving midway through their hookup. Their argument goes viral, and Prim is left trying to regain respect and fix his reputation. Karina's meddling aunties suggest they get fake engaged so they both can get what they want. While Karina is unwilling, Prim seems to think this is a brilliant idea. He will do absolutely anything and everything to win Karina over...

First of all, Prim was just AMAZING, THE SWEETEST MOST GENTLEMANLY BOOK BOY EVER. I wish I could explain all the cute things he does but I can't spoil. Second, being the child of immigrant parents, I felt so understood and heard while reading this book. Third, tropes, if you like fake dating and boy first/is absolutely infatuated with the girl, definitely read this book!!

this is my new favorite comfort read, so thankful I got a chance to read Dating Dr. Dil and I hope you check it out :)

This was such a fun and entertaining read! I really enjoyed reading from both Kareena’s and Prem’s POVs. I did think this was a bit insta-lovey, especially considering Prem’s hang ups with love and relationships. That being said, I think this story was a good example of insta-love done mostly well - Prem and Kareena had great chemistry and seemed to click together well. I am not Indian or South East Asian, but as a fellow daughter of immigrants, I related a lot to Kareena. Especially the feeling she has that her career and life accomplishments didn’t matter to her family as much as getting married.

Overall I thought this was a very enjoyable read and will be picking up a physical copy when it is released!

This book was a freaking delight! It was surprisingly (and deliciously) steamy, funny banter, and addressed conversation in the desi and non desi community regarding arranged marriages, sex and dating.

The writing in this book was fab! I love a book that can keep me engaged that makes the book unputdownable for me. I enjoyed the banter between our sweater vest loving Rina, and our heart doc, Dr. Dil. I also really enjoyed the conversations they had about their community and how marriage is viewed. Specially the conversations about desi women and dating.

This book will definitely make you hungry and perhaps horny because the steamy scenes were HOT. Whew shower booty action!!!!

I loved Dr Dil and Rina and loved seeing them overcome the barriers they each had to come together! I cannot wait to read more stories set in this universe with their friend group!

I don't think 5 stars will be enough to tell you how much I loved this book. I was swooning over the characters from the beginning and they didn't disappoint point at all. Kareena and Prem are everything i could ask for in a couple and I just want to reread the book over and over again because I don’t think I'll be able to get over them in a very long time. The author did such an amazing job showing depth in the characters and I just couldn't stop myself from falling in love with them. The chemistry, the banter between Kareena and Prem was so good and seeing the cultural background in the book made it so relatable for me to read it.I can't wait for other people to read the book and enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you NetGalley for the arc! I can't wait to get my paperback.
