Well, I never read a Rebel Girls book, I did hear and see them in libraries and bookshops, but somehow never really read them. I did flip the pages though, but as a hardcover, it was expensive so, yeah.
When I saw this available to get and review from NetGalley, I thought I'll give it a shot. It was actually very well done, and the stories and the women/girls they chose for this topic were pretty good. I loved the artwork the most and it was so cool seeing how this was a big collaborative project of so many female artists. I am big on stopping climate change and protecting the environment, so it was perfect. I bet kids could get motivated by this, especially tweens, as younger ones may find the stories boring. I liked how diverse the women/girls were, and that they all came from different places but had one thing in common on caring about our planet, while their approaches were slightly different. I really thought the idea of putting the stories in alphabetical order of the women's names was great. It's a rather quick read and my first nonfiction book of 2022! In the end, there's also a part for kids to write their own story and picture. I may try it out...

Whats not to love about this series?! Particularly when you are highlighting feminine power and those specifically who fighting for our climate. Nothing new in the format or approach to these books so can only add these are a great way to get your children involved and interested in the climate and our world

Wonderful collection of women’s biographies! I really liked the inclusion of indigenous activists and found their stories particularly well written and informative. I liked the inclusion of the worksheets at the end of the book where girls can write their own bio and get ideas for how they can positively impact the environment.

Thank you to the publishers for allowing me to review Rebel Girls Climate Warriors!

It is so important in this ever-changing world that younger readers are introduced to and feel inspired by those who take an active stance towards campaigning for climate justice and wanting to make the planet a better place to live. Some of the women included are Greta Thunberg who transformed the strike for climate marches into a global movement and the McEwan sisters who successfully started a campaign to ban plastic toys from the popular fast-food chains which were often added to happy meals and kids menus. The illustrations were beautiful throughout and with an easy to read format, this diverse collection of women will surely appeal to many worldwide.

The newest addition to the Rebel Girls library is delightful. With sweet illustrations and clear, succinct prose, this book offers stories of female environmentalists from a variety of backgrounds. I was pleased by the diversity of the women included in the volume.

If I were read this with a young person, I would be sure to have conversations about the limits of the "individual responsibility" model of environmentalism, distinct from a systemic approach. But certainly, Rebel Girls Climate Warriors achieves what it sets out to do: provide an inspiring, accessible amd aesthetically pleasing outline of key women and girls who have fought for the Earth.

TO TEACH? 🍎
This would be a useful addition to middle school classroom or school libraries and could definitely be used to kickstart, frame or support an earth science unit.

Beautiful illustrations and a great introduction to some trailblazers.

Many of the girls mentioned are not who we hear about in main stream media, but they too have epic tales to tell.

Me and my girls really enjoyed this book, the illustration were fabulous.

Great book about girls, women and young women working towards climate change and climate change's effects. The book includes lovely illustrations and has women from all over the world featured. I did feel that some diversity was lacking but overall it was a good book.

I'm yet to be disappointed by a Rebe Girl book. This is an incredible collection of 25 inspiring stories of climate activists from around the world. The book has a diverse collection of stories, from China to Ecuador. There is also a variety of professionals like scientists, politicians, author, etc, ranging from young teen girls to women from the past. The artwork is jaw-droppingly beautiful as always and is done by female artists from various parts of the globe.

I think that the publisher's blurb covers the basics very well. I can only add that the illustrations are colorful and right on target as are the choices of those who are working to save our planet. This is important! Get one for home and another for the local library!

We have all the Rebel Girls books at home and my 9yo daughter absolutely loves them and this book is no exception! The fabulous illustrations are, as usual, absolutely stunning and there is a superb choice of women in the book, covering a range of climate issues and their work. This is informative and inspiring and shows young girls just how important their voices are. This is a book my daughter will love but I would also buy this book and gift it to her class library. I will also be recommending it to my school librarian. A book to come back to time and time again.

WOW! I really enjoyed this book a lot. The subject matter of women and climate warriors was very inspiring. It was full of powerful words. This is exactly what a young girl needs to read about other women. I also loved the colorful pictures throughout the book. The bios were not "cookie cutter" ones. They were unique and told their story. It kept me reading! I also enjoyed the ending. You have a spot to write your own story as well as tips on how you can make the world better. I was first attracted to the book because of the cover art. But I kept reading for the content. Additionally, the writing was great! They picked a lot of great and inspiring stories to put through the book too.

The illustrations in this book are wonderful. Reading this with children is a fun experience and opens up topics of conversation. It will be fun to do more research about the people whom the kids became interested in.

Another amazing addition to the Rebel Girls series!
I read this with my eldest 2 daughters (age 9 and 6) who are both currently learning about the environment at school. As a Mum of all girls we love to find and read new books that represent strong and inspiring women and this book does just that! The illustrations are beautiful and the inspirational stories short and sweet which helped to keep my girl's focused and engaged.

There are also additional resources at the back of the book including activities and QR codes which encourage children to look at ways that they themselves can help the environment which I thought was a nice added touch.

This is definitely one I will be buying for the bookshelf.

Thank you to Rebel Girl's and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I read Rebel Girls: Climate Warriors in one sitting. I kept telling myself I'd just read 'one more' story... but they're a lot like potato chips. You enjoy each one so much you keep reaching for another bite.

25 inspiring women are featured, each with a short biography and artwork depicting them. They are all standout Rebels who have helped the environment and the fight against climate change.

Some of the Rebels lived long, long ago - others ae fighting for change right now. These are women that young girls can identify with, and should open the eyes of many young boys, too. They come from a variety of nations, and are wonderfully diverse. I very much hope that this book, along with others in the Rebel Girls series, are on the bookshelves of many classrooms.

My thanks to the Rebel Girls and NetGalley for allowing me to read a digital advance review copy of this book. This review is my honest and unbiased opinion.

I appreciated the very diverse mix of women represented in this collection! The illustrations are lovely and the short descriptions of each climate warrior is brief, informative, and engaging. A good balance of historical and current figures, all connected by their activism in caring for our planet. A current, important, topical read for any girl (or boy!)

This is such an important and inspiring book! 25 women are featured who, each in their own way, do important things to protect the planet. There are "famous" women, like Margaret Atwood, Greta Thunberg and Bernice Nooteboom, and also lesser known women who've done great things. I loved the portraits, the art style (so nice and colourful!) and the diversity. This is a book I wish existed when I was a young girl. I'm glad I've read it and I need to check out more of the Rebel Girl series for sure!

My daughter absolutely loves this book.
In school she has been learning about being an 'eco warrior' and has been reading this pretty much everyday since we received it.
She is understanding more about ways she can help the environment through the stories within this book.
