Wow this was such an amazing read. I was totally engrossed in it from the very start. The book was so well wrote and such a wonderful fast paced thrilling ride it had me on the edge of my seat throughout. It is definitely a roller coaster ride that you will not want to get off. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot of this book as anything aviation gets me all excited as I used to work in the industry. I thought it was a fantastic way of taking down planes you just have to read the book for more details. The characters were brilliant and realistic and they developed really well through the story. I must say I did love to hate the villain in this book or did I really hate loving him come to think about it. He definitely was a brilliant character. I don't often find myself willing the baddie on. This combination really made to book flow brilliantly and I definitely connected with it, experiencing all the highs and lows. I definitely recommend this book to all thriller fans especially those who love biological thrillers, aviation thrillers and those who love them fast paced high action thrillers. I will definitely be reading as many books as I can get my hands on by this very talented independent author.

Only the highest of praise goes out to the author and publishing team for creating this magnificent thriller that you won't be able to put down and I'm very sure of that fact. And what's best I'd you can always try a sample of this book in many places where this book is sold.

It starts off with an unresponsive crew on a Boeing 777, about to crash over a crowded American city. But what caused the hypoxia?

It is not the first to suddenly fall out of the sky. Then, a plague of rats is unleashed in New York, who poison to death anyone unlucky to have direct contact with them. Then it starts happening in London and in German cities too.

Detective John Wyse is an anti-terrorist officer who suspects that something very untoward is happening in all three countries. But will he be able to track down who is behind all this before they win?

This in the main is a well crafted suspense thriller, though there are moments of both lurid horror (the swarming death rats) and in scenes where a hostage is tortured. The rat element did seem just a little OTT to me.
The suspense consists in how soon the detectives will discover the terrorists and how they are doing all this, thus remaining one jump ahead - or whether the bad guys will win, as we follow their story too. To say nothing of the mastermind, the evil genius behind it all.

Pretty decent entertainment all round.

I join the other reviewers who really liked Paul McNeive's thriller Poison Sky. It's very well written with a plot that keeps the reader engaged. McNeive creates characters that I can identify with, including cops with personalities. The terror aspects of the novel are fascinating, complete with rats and fleas and a bad guy in a wheelchair. Poison Sky belongs on the best seller lists!
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

If you like your books to be fast paced with action on every page, this is a perfect choice. With the topical theme of global crisis bringing some of the concepts very close to home. the author cleverly guides the reader through adventure and near mayhem, while all the while ensuring characterisation is not neglected. Really loved this one!

I received this ARC through "NetGalley" Read Now and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is the 1st book that I have read by this author and plan to read his previous book in this series: Manhattan Project. This story begins with a Japanese elite who has plans for avenging his parent's death which came during the Hiroshima bombing. He plans to create havoc in the U.S. along with some of the U.S. Allies. His plan will bring support from a Muslim terrorist organization. This plan incorporates bioterrorism and results in several aircraft being targeted.
The story relates the steps that the terror group is taking and what steps the Joint Terrorism Task Force is taking to stop these acts. The initial actions have left no clues for the JTTF to follow so they have to begin at square one. A new member, John Wyse has been added to the team and assist Derek Hansen, a longtime member that takes a different view how the search should begin. This new member previously was involved in an earlier case that he was able to resolve. AS time goes by, there is a different kind of terrorist attack that they need to shut down. Using various information from various parties they attempt to find the location that provided the means for implementing the attacks.

Besides the terror attacks, the terrorist leader also had the job of killing the member that resolved the earlier attack. As a result, this individual targeted another member of the team to draw that person's attention so that he could kill him and complete his task.

The description of the action that the terror group took and the methods that the JTTF members used to gather their information was well done. If you want a lot of action, then this is definitely a book that you want to read.

I just couldn't put this book down. Between planes falling out of the sky and a deadly toxin being released in the major cities, it is one hell of a read. I must say though, just in case anyone feels this may be a heavy read.. it isn't. Paul McNeive has managed to write it so it is a bit lighter than you would expect. So, that's good at least!
The characters he has created are all well developed and I thought the relationship between Wyse, Deke and Danielle was great, they all worked well together. The banter between them all did make me smile and the lighter tone can be attributed mainly to these three.
The plot of this book is in one sense, terrifying because these things could easily become a reality. This is what makes it such a great read. The tension cranks up constantly and the short, snappy sentences help to drive the story forward. I ended up reading it so quickly so I could get the answers to the questions swirling in my head. In conclusion, this is an excellently written book that is action-packed with great characters and plenty of tension to keep you on your toes. Thanks to Netgalley

McNeive's novel is a nail biting thriller. The book takes place inside the NYC terrorist unit. The US and Europe are battling terrorists. Planes are crashing and the terrorists then take the struggle to a new level. Poison Sky is a well written novel worth a read.

A roller coaster ride

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2021

After the great success of his previous thrilling novel, The Manhattan Project, this author has given us yet another wildly exciting tale. The book is well described on the Kindle site so I will merely give my honest opinion. The prose is sharp, short sentences and excellent description bring the reader racing along with the characters. Characters are well drawn, so if you are on the lookout for a truly thrill-packed book then this for you. My thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and author for an ARC of Poison Sky. I highly recommend

A non-stop adrenaline rush by New York JTTF Detective John Wyse to learn the identify of terrorists launching simultaneous attacks on the U.S. and a number of western European nations. This is a “can’t stop until I finish” thriller!
