These were some really fantastic reads! I was a little bit worried, given how I didn't really like Desolation Road, that Savage, given that he and Seychelle needed 2 books to tell their story, would evoke the same reactions from me, but he didn't, and I was really glad!

I've since read that Annihilation Road was written to be a stand alone story for this couple where they're falling in love, and that Savage Road is the one that really delved into the issues that Savage has, and how they work as a couple as he's dealing with that. And that makes total sense, and I'm really glad that their story wasn't condensed into one book, they really needed that breathing space!

Savage is almost certainly the darkest of the Torpedo Ink crew. The way he might have been if they'd had a normal childhood, on top of their childhood, well, he's earned his nickname. And then there's Seychelle, which her healing ability.

These are dark reads, and reading them around the holidays was pretty not the best choice. But I love her writing, and I enjoy this series, and I had a great time with these two, and everything that went on in these stories besides the romance!

These were really fantastic reads, and I can't wait to see where the series goes from here!

This novel continues Savage's story. It is not an easy read, with very graphic scenes of bondage and sadism. But it does continue the Torpedo Ink journey so it is worth the read. Sensitive reader's can always skip over the sadism scenes and continue with the story.

Savage Road is the continuation of the previous book in the Torpedo Ink series, Annihilation Road. Seychelle Dubois has been having constant nightmares involving a man being tortured. Savage worries she may be sick, but what Seychelle doesn’t want him to know is that her gift allows her to see the memories of people she touches, and the nightmares are due to Savage’s past actions.

Savage begins to fully introduce Seychelle to his world of BDSM, setting rules in order for her to feel safe and for him to know when to stop. Here is where angst takes over this relationship! Throughout the book, Savage and Seychelle struggle to find a middle ground in their love life and with their loved ones. Seychelle feels that Savage is still not ready to open himself to the new dynamic of having a partner. She also feels he is restraining himself intimately, which has Savage tense and nervous while dealing with MC tasks. Additionally, Seychelle feels left out by Torpedo Ink, as if she is not fully part of their family circle. This factor puts great pressure on them trying to make their relationship work.

At one point, Seychelle realizes that she won’t be able to adapt to the Torpedo Ink life, making her think it’s better to leave. There also seems to be tension between her and some of the other Torpedo members, which makes Seychelle doubt herself, thinking she isn’t the best for Savage. It gets so tense to the point that Czar and Blythe have to interfere. This was the first time in the series, Torpedo Ink members didn’t agree with one of their member’s love interests. But! We eventually find out the reason behind the dislike towards Seychelle. The plot thickness!

As Seychelle learns to use and control her psychic healing gift better, within time she can become a great asset to the club, especially when it allows her to see into people’s memories. They also learn more about Brandon Campbell and how he’s been getting involved with some of the local MCs. Additionally, Torpedo Ink learns about a third person pulling the strings, especially against Czar.

The feud between Savage and Jackson continues in this story as well! Previously Savage had managed to have a flower be named after the sheriff’s deputy, and in retaliation, Jackson managed to have the Red Hat ladies name Savage as an honorary member! I love that author Christine Feehan is adding fuel to this ongoing hilarious feud.

Both books were very intense. So many enemies came after Seychelle, some out of envy, others as stalkers, but at the end more information was revealed. We also had special guest appearances from Sea Haven and Drake Sisters! It’s fun to read what they have been up to, and we may have gotten a glimpse at a potential future couple!

Savage Road (Torpedo Ink #7). By Christine Feehan. 2022. Berkley (ARC eBook).

Savage and Seychelle navigate the choppy waters of their personal and Torpedo Ink relationships. As a whole, I find the characters in this series intriguing. However, I found a lot of explanations to be repetitive and there was a person the club took out to tidy up the ending that I didn’t understand the reasoning behind. Torpedo Ink claim they normally don’t harm women, and one of the women that met her end never convinced me that she was evil, but she was definitely mentally unstable, the degree of which was escalated with psychic manipulation by another baddie. It seemed to me that this character could’ve benefited by an intervention with Seychelle’s talent, or even just a drop off at the loony bin. Her wrap up and several others took place off page and without Savage present for that matter. For such a dysfunctional and resourceful group of people I’d think understanding and others methods could have been deployed.

* I received this as an E-ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review, Thank you!**

I've got some mixed feelings about this book. I will start by saying I did enjoy the writing and the characters for the most part. However, I was not aware this was part of a series ( as it wasn't in the book description at the time) so I felt like I was missing something when it came to it. This caused me to lessen my enjoyment, which isn't the book's fault. This book can also be very triggering. I wasn't affected but it was a total surprise. Overall I am interested enough to read other books in the series and good have a decent reading experience.

Trigger warning!!

This one was hard for me to read. But I did because of the background of these characters and the mission of their club. Normally any MC book is a guilty pleasure but this one is rough. You really need to start at the beginning of this series for the background for these characters and their club. They are all damaged, left over from when they were children and the horrors they went through, Savage especially.

Savage and Seychelle's story is odd, sweet and terrible all rolled into one and was difficult to read. But also beautiful because for all his flaws he has a beautiful soul when it comes to her. This story started in Annihilation Road and the way they met was nothing less than a miracle.

Read their story and the road to their happiness together.

Savage Road is the second and final book in Seychelle and Savage’s story. It took two books (Annihilation and Savage Road) to show the intense and complex story of Savin “Savage” Pajarin’s deeply wounded life.

It took a very unique woman to take on such a damaged man as Savage and Seychelle proved up to the task. While both possessed unique psychic abilities, their relationship was an exercise in trust building.

Because of Savage’s childhood experience, his proclivity is as a sexual sadist and Seychelle is in full consent and although tastefully done, the exploration of mixing pleasure and pain, graphic description of past torture, violence, abuse and rape of children and women could be triggering for some readers.

While the main emphasis of the story revolved around the main couple, the TI club is facing its own conflict with rival motorcycle clubs. The history of the Torpedo Ink members reiterated how these survivors of horrific childhood abuse are left horribly traumatized but managed to create a bond of survivors who created a familial community as they try to take a chance to love and trust as adults.

I am looking forward to the future of the Torpedo Ink club and I really, really hope that Alena and Destroyer will be a future couple.

This is the second part of Savage's story.

In this book, the reader was able to feel Seychelle's emotional struggle to connect with Savage. Savage's nature is to protect those he loves and in doing that, he doesn't always feel the need to share information with others. Seychelle’s need to know outweighs her love for Savage, and that point is proven when against her wishes, Savage leaves when Czar calls him out on Ink business.

This book shows both Savage's and Seychelle's growth as individuals and as a couple.

I have to say, this is the one of the best books in the series.

Triggers: History of child sex abuse, Bondage.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the seventh book in the series, and I would highly recommend that you read them in order – you absolutely have to have read ANNIHILATION ROAD though, as it is the first half of this story.

Savin and Seychelle are newly together, and trying to navigate the complicated future that is ahead of them. Savin holds all the knowledge, although the link between them means that Seychelle sees more than he wishes. He spends much of the book trying to understand how she can possibly want to be with him. It is an amazing balance of love, need and pain. Christine Feehan has an amazing skill for just taking the reader right to the edge of the cliff, tension bleeding into every move. Exciting, exhausting, and completely unputdownable from the very beginning.

I can't really say more, as you need to read it and experience it yourself – not easy, but utterly fascinating.

In continuing story for Seychelle and Savage’s there is a lot of training going on!
In order for Seychelle to come fully into Savage’s life style, she must be trained to accept the pain with the pleasure and I have to say she has the easier challenge. For Savage to become the true partner that she requires, he needs to be trained in how to open up emotionally, how to make her the priority in his life, how to balance club and relationship and let’s face it those are harder for men to learn.

Club business is a large part of this story, the Diamondbacks vs Venomous clubs have placed Torpedo Ink in the middle of a potential war and Savage is a main target. As Torpedo Ink is targeted from several sides, the clubs rage builds, the reality of club life and how Seychelle and Savage deal with those demands are the emotional core of the story. As they work their way through the minefield and have blowups as all couples do, I was happy to have the pranks between Jackson and Savage and the Red Hat ladies to give a breather between the intense scenes.

I always learn something from Christine’s books, while Savages lifestyle would never be for me, it was an interesting look into the deep emotional bond a couple would have to have to survive and I was impressed with the way Christine didn’t shy away from the reality of it.

Savage, whom I was so worried we would lose was saved, Seychelle stood up for herself against both her man and the club, coming out stronger and showing Torpedo Inc as a whole there are cracks that need to be shored up to protect the club.

Thanks Christine for a beautifully told story!

Ok, so I will admit, when I saw this book was coming out I did a happy dance. It was nice and close to Annihilation Road so I didn't have to wait too long for the rest of Savage and Seychelle's story. I was SO hyped after Annihilation Road that I jumped on Savage Road as soon as I could get my grubby little hands on it. Even now, I am giddy with joy over this book.

Savage and Seychelle's story is a long one so is split into two books. Savage Road is the second part so PLEASE do not try to read this if you haven't read Annihilation Road.

Oh, my heart. Savage wants to feel secure with Seychelle so bad, but he is terrified that if he lets her see every part of him, that she will leave. He is right on the edge with everything they do, worried he might go too far. If he does, he immediately assumes she is done with him and his mind goes to some really dark places. Savage is no angel. I will admit that. He does scare me. But my heart ached for him so many times throughout this book. Seychelle tries to reassure him that she is going to be there no matter what, but he just can't seem to get it threw his head that she is serious. No matter what he throws at her, she will be there. However, there were times that I wasn't sure I truly believed her either. I would be right on the edge of totally giving up on her being a good heroine. Oh and other club members coming down on Seychelle, doubting her compatibility with Savage was pretty rough. I did feel bad for her then, but on the other hand, in the back of my mind I was wondering if they were right!

Savage Road also brings more danger to the club, and even though she hates it, Seychelle allows her skills to be used. They need to know who is trying to kill them and why. She hates being "used" by the club when they are not telling her what is going on. The club tries to keep her involvement minimized but her skills get out and others play on her sympathies to tell them what they want to know. Even though it drains her. All these people draining her makes it even harder for her to keep up with Savage, which I thought should be like, priority number one.

Torpedo Ink is one of my favorite series. The paranormal is fairly light, which I'm ok with since the rest of the stories are so adrenaline filled. However, I would warn you that this series contains some hard stuff and may not be for those triggered easily. But I love it all and think everyone should read it!

Savin “Savage” Pajari & Seychelle Dubois have come together to try and find a life together after dealing with her obsessive fan and figuring out that they can’t live without each other. As these two learn to trust each other and themselves, they lean on each other to figure out their future. When enemies need to be dealt with it’ll take a trip down a Savage Road to hopefully get through the secrets danger that surrounds them.

Christine Feehan continues the story of one of the most damaged members of Torpedo Ink, who gets a second chance at love as she gives him another story in Savage Road. This story picks up after the first book leaves off but is its own story. It takes the couple’s relationship to the next level by bringing in more sexual content and the training of the woman to become his partner in all ways. Savage Road take the reader on an emotional ride. They’ll need to face danger and trust issues while working through their own issues and those of Torpedo Ink and their enemies. Savage Road gives the reader a little humor with some of the secondary characters, also you get a look at some of other characters from Christine Feehan’s Drake Sisters series by another visit to a local tea house and insight into a couple of the other Torpedo Ink members possible love life. Christine brings the reader along for the ride through all the trial and tribulations of a unique couple trying to find their way to each other to find a happily ever after. Ms. Feehan also continues the story of Savage and Seychelle in another book before Savage Road called Annihilation Road. This reader recommends reading both even though each can be read alone, unless some intense graphic love scenes aren’t for you then you’ll still be happy with just reading Annihilation Road.

I think if I had understood that this book is a continuation of Savage and Seychelle's story I might have passed on it. I had a hard time with the first book and though this book has the two characters finding their middle ground and working through some of the issues I felt that it was an unnecessary chapter without adding a lot to the overall story line.

3.5 stars (rounded up) for NetGalley ratings
Trigger Warning: Savage Road contains scenes, and refers to graphic violence, rape, murder, torture, child prostitution, and abuse against children, women and men, and may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Savage Road is the second story in the duet of Savage and Seychelle’s romance, and I have mixed feelings about it. Half of the book I liked and the other half I did not. Let’s begin with the good part and why I liked it. I felt the second half of the book truly was the heart of the story that dealt with the relationship between the two main characters, the growing tensions between rival clubs, and the side stories that involved other members of Torpedo Ink. It flowed well, engrosses the reader and told the evolving relationship of Savage and Seychelle. There are favorite characters from Sea Haven that are involved in this story and it’s good to see them make an appearance in these stories. You also can feel the tension building before the big run and throughout the weekend when the president of Torpedo Inc insisted that Seychelle come with them. That tension climaxed at the campsite for Savage and Seychelle, and you see a strong woman stand up for herself with resolve.

As for why I didn’t care for Savage Road, it all began in the first book. The first in this duo, Annihilation Road, ended on a ‘to be continued, there’s more’ and the reader is still confronted with an unsettled situation in the first half of Savage Road. Seychelle hasn’t come to terms with her desire of pleasure with pain, and Savage was too busy being controlling, high-handed and domineering. I understand he is a sexual sadist but I think the author went a little overboard with the sex and sadism. The first half of the book dragged on and less would have been more.

Overall, once it got towards the second half of the book, the story was interesting and had a few surprises along the way. The introduction of a new player ratchet up the number of problems for Torpedo Ink making them another target for elimination. The cast of characters is vast and it’s still anyone’s guess where the overarch of the series is still far from being over. I am committed in the series and look forward to more members getting their story told and wonder about the men and women she matches them with. Savage never thought there would be a woman who could love him, all of him, and it took a special kind with powers of her own, to match him in many ways. Savage Road is an edgier, gritty and sensual story that isn’t an easy read, yet is a very satisfying in the end.

The magic of Christine Feehan continues with Savage Road. This is book seven in the Torpedo Ink series by the incredibly talented author. It is a worthy two parter and compelling page turner the entire way.

This is actually the second chapter for Savage and Seychelle. Fabulous characters like these two were very worthy of our extra attention and I am so glad that the author gave it to them. Savage had to learn some things the hard way and in a way so did Sechelle. Suspense,  steamy chemistry, family bonds and raw emotions abounded in this one and no other author can pull that off quite as wonderfully as Christine Feehan.

I loved it! I cannot wait for the next book in the Torpedo Ink series.

I truly Love this couple. The amazing story Christine has written for them! The acceptance and trust they come to share is so beautifully written and the Torpedo Ink plotlines surrounding them and highlighting them is outstanding! They arrive at the couple they need to be, truly in love, by working through conflict and compromise, not only between them, but with Torpedo Ink. A story written in moments that bring the reader to tears at the raw truth, moments of laughter as self-discovery is made, the ah ha giddiness as the love and understanding Savage thought would never be his is right there in front of him. Savage is thrilled Seychelle has excepted and joins in his desires. That her way to find pleasure is perfect for him.
..
One thing we see in this book as Savage and Seychelle move further into each other’s world is the importance Savage places on her consent. How strong and smart she is. How she can read him and has come to know her boundaries. Seychelle realizes how much power she has during their pain to pleasure intimacy. She has the control, she’s the one who says when her pain threshold is reached and when Savage needs to stop. He trusts her to know, and she trusts him to listen. And Savage will do anything to keep his word to not humiliate her and to keep her from being hurt in any way outside the pain by his hands to bring her tears and pleasure. One change I think I saw was the pain pleasure desire he felt has become more intimate, more of a bond with her alone, than just the way he needs to find release.

But there is more to Savage’s world than his physical needs, there is his entire life with Torpedo Ink. One he keeps Seychelle blocked from and she feels a disconnect from him. He’d been afraid if she knew all he’s done, all he needs to do for his club, she would leave him. Until he has no choice but to share with her or lose her, He never thought it would, actually, make them stronger. I appreciate Savage, one of the most stoic and isolated members of TI, loved her so much, enough to show what he considered weakness (but I saw as strength) go seek counsel with those he held in esteem, to ask how to make her happy, to help make their relationship survive. There are two or more sub-threads with other Torpedo Ink characters (Alena and Soliel) that grabbed my heart with situations that compare and contrast this couple and strengthen their story path. As they navigate how they fit together, they and Torpedo Ink are facing dangerous threats... an enemy playing tricks with minds, new antagonists whispering, old antagonist posing threats. Old series plot arcs are sewn up, some grow and new series plotline arcs seeds are planted with edge of seat revelations and lots of Oh Wow!
.
Seychelle shines! She holds her ground and is determined to not be used, be placed second, or left in the dark! Her strength, her power of observation and intuition bring to light dangers Torpedo Ink might have missed or taken longer to discover because they assumed other things. She is truly gifted and gives freely to help others even when she isn’t happy with them. She will give all she can to Savage but will not lose who she is to do so, again showing she is absolutely the woman he needs, a woman to hold her ground and say when. I love how her observations, her openness and the communication they share opens his eyes to himself and to members of his club. That they do hide behind the “it’s club business” instead of taking a step to move into their new normal.
.
Torpedo Ink come from a world where they grew interdependent to survive, hid their actions, kept secrets amongst themselves. Trusted no one outside them. Seychelle needed a complete connection with Savage, to feel trusted enough for him to give her all of him, for him to consider her and share with her all parts of his life. This caused conflict between TI and her. They are all learning, they’ve never had role models on how to be in a relationship. I think Seychelle awakened some of them, including Czar. Seychelle surprises Savage by giving him the love he never thought he deserved. She accepts him and understands him even better than he does himself. She sees the monster but knows he’s a part of him and understands the reason he is there. She accepts all parts of him love her and she can love all of him.
.
While Seychelle shines, I love how much Savage grows, at times not realizing, until he catches himself stepping out of his comfort box and mutters “what the hell am I doing?” Caring for her, easing discomfort, when before residual pain outside their home would have thrilled him. To moments when He realizes he’s laughing and appreciating other people around him, laughing at practical jokes and stepping further out of his world into Seychelles, things that matter to her start to matter to him. He learns to step away from club business he really doesn’t have to do, to go and be happy with his woman. He even realizes letting someone know you appreciate them is the right thing to do. And it truly touched my heart to see him finding happiness, love and the hope for tomorrow with Seychelle. He continues to show her how much he loves her in small and great ways. He is her strength, her control, and she is his light and laughter.

Savage Road is the 7th book in Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series. I’ve been reading this series since book one and I’ve really enjoyed each one. In this installment, a direct follow-up to ‘Annihilation Road, we continue Savage and Seychelle’s story as they continue to establish boundaries in their relationship and begin to realize it’s not enough to be in love. Like the previous books, this was at times difficult to read due to the descriptive depictions of severe child abuse, both sexual and emotional. For the character of Savage it was certainly the most intense book in the series due to the extreme difference in his abuse and that of his brothers and sisters in the club. Despite this, Christine Feehan treats the subject and characters thoughtfully and with obvious care. The author’s note at the beginning of the book (and also in Annihilation Road) was appreciated.

In this installment, I think we get a better feel for Savage and Seychelle’s personalities and motivations. This is the first time in this series where the love interest clashed so devastatingly with the rest of the club and everyone had to put in the work to make it right. The character development was spectacular for the main couple and the supporting characters. Savage had to think of himself as an individual instead of Torpedo Ink first while Seychelle had to fight her instinctual ‘run at the first sign of something wrong’. They had to truly fight for their happiness and dedicate themselves to making their relationship better and I really loved that. This is a fantastic addition to the series!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkeley Publishing Group for the eArc in exchange for an honest review!

Savage Road is the seventh book in the Torpedo Ink series by Christine Feehan. A steamy paranormal MC romance that is sure to keep you turning the pages wanting more. While the scenes were hot and intense, there was also so much heart packed within this one story that won me over completely. I look forward to reading more in the series.

Savage Road is a little shocking, a lot gripping, and completely engaging. Christine Feehan tackles some big topics here, and some of them aren't for everyone, so take heed of the book's blurb. I don't read many MC romances, but I really like the supernatural angle in this one, and these characters, love them or hate them, are all kinds of intriguing. There is a mystery to solve, so Seychelle and Savage have more than just relationship things to work through. They have some danger along with everything else, and I'll stop there before I give too much away. I'll just wrap it up by saying that Christine Feehan has a well-deserved following, and this book is just one more reason why.

Savage Road picks right up where Annihilation Road leaves off. Savage and Seychelle are trying to charter new terror ties while examining their past and their present. The author takes readers back a bit into Savage’s lifestyle really exploring a darker story than I’m use to by her if I’m being really honest.

I’m trying to figure out why I struggled with this story more than last. The kink level is still top level. Once again, I must say that there are a lot of things in this book that can be considered triggering. I think this book may have even delved darker into waters that made me uncomfortable or question the usage or placement in the story. Some things are better mentioned briefly or just implied. The graphic descriptions of abuse at this time are too much and of course, I don’t want to give too much away but I had to stop this book a few times to continue. This didn’t hit my typical romance palette.

There is still a lot going on in the story with the war brewing. The sex is hot and heavy with Savage needing to take out his pain on Seychelle. The various characters all play their part in the story but the author’s heavily pen on Savage’s torture overshadowed the MC stuff that I wanted more of in this conclusion.

Overall, if you are into really dark reads, then considered this book along with the prequel, Annihilation Road.

The follow-up to Feehan's Annihilation Road is a bit of a departure for this author and series. Thus far the series has advanced the plot while focusing on a different main couple each book. Here, we are once again with Savage and Seychelle. I am a fan of Feehan, and so enjoyed this book enough. I don't know that their story warranted two books as the emotional stakes between the couple never seemed real. Though seemingly on the edge of leaving Seychelle changes her mind within a few pages, and the reader doesn't see much character growth in Savage. It is a solid entry in the Torpedo Ink series, but I can't help but wonder whether two books was absolutely necessary here. I will be happy to continue with the series, and look forward to more time spent with Torpedo Ink.
