Savage Road
After reading Annihilation Road and seeing how Savage and Seychelle lit up their world with sparks, I had to read Savage Road. Savage loves Seychelle, and Seychelle loves Savage. But can they make it work? This book is not for the faint of heart, or those who find S&M distasteful.
Seychelle wants to be “first” in someone’s life. She felt her parents were so wrapped up in each other, she was almost an outsider in her own home. She understood, but still wanted to be someone’s most important person. She knows Savage loves her completely, but she knows that if someone from the MC calls, Savage will be out to door to help his brothers and sisters. In her heart, she knows the MC members are not happy about her being with Savage. Some of them have made comments that makes her feel like a complete outsider, and that she isn’t good enough for him. Even non club members have told her she didn’t have what it takes to keep Savage happy.
Seychelle was also very confused regarding her reactions to Savage in their sex life. Was there something wrong with her that she responded to his need to inflict pain to become aroused? That even though it hurt, she enjoyed it? She knew that Savage mentally drained pain and rage from his brothers and sisters, allowing them to function better in times of stress, and she felt it was her place to take on his pain.
Savage knew Seychelle was the only woman he would ever love. He also knew that there was something mentally wrong with needing to inflict pain during sexual encounters. He and his brothers had researched over the years and knew there was no cure for him. He knew when he was reaching the end of his capacity to maintain mentally and physically. When he reached that point, there was no stopping the monster within. Part of that was why he was good at what he did for the MC. He could inflict pain and get answers from gang members or people out to harm his family or friends. He could become cold, so he didn’t feel any emotion while doing his job. But until he let that monster within him out, and fought, loved, or drove the monster out, he was no good to anyone, including himself.
His club needed Seychelle. Her voice could calm angry people, stopping situations from getting violent just by singing. She was loved by so many, and she loved singing for them, and healing them.
He understood where Seychelle was coming from and wanted to tell her that she was first with him, but he knew she was right. He and all the members of Torpedo Ink had grown up suffering together and surviving together. He didn’t know how to live any other way.
Czar told Savage that Seychelle had to come with the club to an important event. Savage knew that things were going to be bad at that event and didn’t know how to explain to Seychelle why her being with the club was so important. He couldn’t tell her all that the club was involved in as he wasn’t sure she would stay with him.
Will he be able to convince Seychelle of his love and sincerity and help her to understand what the club means to him? Can she still love him when she sees into his mind and sees what his monster is capable of? She has to understand what the club does, and still love him and the members of Torpedo Ink.
Enjoy this fast-paced relationship, and learn how Savage, Seychelle and the members of Torpedo Ink work through issues, and learn to love and trust. #ChristineFeehan, #TorpedoInk

Savage, and Seychelle's story continues in Savage Road, While Seychelle continues her journey of accepting her, as well as Savage's sexual proclivities, she realizes that her emotional needs aren't being met by Savage. Seychelle's a healer of mind and body as well as a nurturer. Savage holds back from showing Seychelle who he really is, what his role is as a T.I. member.as well as his childhood. Savage fall back on telling her it's "Club Business". What follows are great conversation between this couple, as they navigate living together and you hope there will be better understanding between the two. Unfortunately, when Savage doesn't want to answer Seychelle's questions he falls back to saying, "It's Club Business," Seychelle begins to feel used by Savage as well as Torpedo Ink that treat her as an outsider.

Savage brings Seychelle on "The Run" with Torpedo Ink. Savage needs her there, and Czar demands her present to utilize her psychic gifts, but they refuse to explain the situation to her. What happens next is conflict between Seychelle and several members of T.I. and their beliefs that Seychelle isn't what Savage needs. Seychelle stands her ground, calls them out on their hypocrisy. She sets them straight on several matters.as well as their lack of social skills that made me smile. Seychelle gets them to think about their relationship with their women or future women or men. Are they truly part of the club or outsiders? Who comes first the wives or the club? How can you demand trust when none is given? What follows is revelation for the members of T.I. and their behavior toward others, and what they need to do as a whole to correct this.

New threats are revealed, directed at Czar from the past, The Diamondbacks continue their attempted manipulation of Torpedo Ink. More information regarding the "Ghosts" is revealed. and what their endgame is. The drama between Alena, and Pierce continues until Destroyer steps in. Great scene.

Savage Road was a beautifully written story and the subject matter of Savage as a sexual sadist was handle in a tasteful way, that has you cheering this couple on as they progress and find balance to their HEA.

3.5 stars—SAVAGE ROAD is the seventh instalment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult TORPEDO INK erotic, paranormal romance series a spin off from the author’s Sea Haven/Sisters of the Heart series which in turn is a spin off from the Drake Sisters series. This is the continuing story of Savin “Savage” Pajari, and singer Seychelle Dubois. SAVAGE ROAD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading ANNIHILATION ROAD as the events of SAVAGE ROAD pick up immediately after the events of the aforementioned book.

WARNING: SAVAGE ROAD contains graphic scenes of BDSM, and makes reference to graphic violence, rape, murder, torture, child prostitution, and abuse against children, women and men, and may not be suitable for more sensitive readers. The violence is a part of the history and lives of the Torpedo Ink crews. The eighteen original Torpedo Ink members are the sole survivors of a Russian pedophile ring, and as such work towards rescuing children and women in similar situations.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Savage and Seychelle) SAVAGE ROAD continues to focus on the building relationship between Savin “Savage” Pajari, and singer Seychelle Dubois, a relationship that is going to cross the line into hard core BDSM. Savage is a sadist, needing to inflict pain and suffering as a result of childhood savagery and abuse, and in this, our ‘hero’ cycles with his demons in a need to remain in control. Seychelle is an innocent but a woman who is falling in love with a man whose needs and urges are about to push our heroine into a lifestyle she knows little about including the world of the Torpedo Ink MC.

Meanwhile, threats of another nature are focusing on the members of Torpedo Ink, pushing three different local MCs into a potential war out of their control. With a ride on the horizon,Torpedo Ink president Czar has ordered Savage to bring our heroine, an order that places Seychelle on the outside looking in, feeling used and abused by the people who claim to consider her one of their own.

SAVAGE ROAD is a dark, detailed, gritty and complex storyline. The BDSM element is front and center, and Savage’s need to punish our heroine is a constant theme throughout the story. The writing style is angry; the shock value is meant to create an aura of astonishment, and the abuse and savagery is growing exponentially with each story line. The trigger warnings cannot be enforced enough-the graphic descriptions of violence and sadism, child abuse and rape will be triggers for more sensitive readers. The premise is raw, haunting and tragic; the romance is unconventional and erotic; the characters are broken, struggling, charismatic and lost.

I'm usually a huge fan of Christine Feehan's books, but Savage's book just was not my thing. I could not get into the more graphic scenes, its just not my thing. I had a really hard time getting through this book and had to read it in pieces.

Savage is much, much darker than most of her characters. Savage and Seychelle has to be able to trust each other, they both have been through a lot. Savage is a hard man to get to know and he had to learn how to put Seychelle above everything else. In the end, I am glad that they were able to ffind their HEA and hope they continue building their relationship. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and hoping that its a bit lighter.

This is the second book about Savage because this man is so complex and his story is so compelling that one book, Annihilation Road, was not enough. This book takes place a few months after the last book, so Seychelle and Savage have gotten to know each other better but she still hasn't seen Savage at his worst yet. Savage is a sadist but he made sure that she knew that before bringing her into his life. The fact is, Seychelle likes the pain he brings her with the whips but he hasn't let himself really show her what he considers, the monster inside him when he's taken too much of his friend's pain, rage and anger inside himself.

Savage has a psychic gift that helped him and his family stay alive when they were children being held captive and abused. He can take some of their pain, anger and rage into himself but if he takes too much, his way of releasing it is to release the monster inside himself and use the whips he's so good at using. It's either that or go to a fight club and beat the crap out of his opponent but his family has had to pull him off of the other guy too many times before he killed someone. So it's no wonder he's afraid to let Seychelle see the monster inside him, he's not sure she'll ever be ready to be with him when he's in that kind of mindset even though she likes some pain mixed with their more intimate times.

Savage is a control freak and wants to control Seychelle all the time but she's also no pushover so it was fun to watch as they try to navigate their new relationship and Savage has to try and figure out how to give Seychelle the freedom she needs while still holding onto the control that he needs.

Brandon from the last book is still trying to influence Seycheele because he has a psychic gift that let's him influence people with his voice but because Seycheele has the same gift, he can't influence her and he's take that as a challenge. He is mad because Seychelle was able to break the psychic hold he had on a couple of women and now he wants revenge on her for interfering.

When a hit is put out on Savage and a body is found murdered, Savage is the first person that the police suspect but they have no case because he has an alibi. But that just makes the person setting him up madder and out for revenge even more. As Seychelle uses her gift on several people to see who is and who isn't influenced by Brandon's gift, it becomes apparent that Brandon isn't the only other one with a psychic gift. Someone else has been putting thoughts into people's minds for one reason or another and because of this, more than just Seychelle and Savage are in danger.

It was fun to watch them figure out who is behind the problems and how it all fit together. I like Savage and Seychelle even though I knew going into these books that Savage was a sadist and I might be reading scenes in this book and the last that would make me uncomfortable and let me tell you, this book made me uncomfortable. Much more so than the last book. Savage let's loose his monster a lot more in this book and the only reason I was ok with it was because Seychelle is all in, it's completely consensual between them and Savage really does love her.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this series when I first started reading it, but this is the 7th book and I'm looking forward to see who find's their mate next.

Disclosure: I was given an E-book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

'Savage Road' is the second & final book for Savage & Seychelle. It picks up right where the first book, 'Annihilation Road' left off and provides a conclusion for where Savage & Seychelle end up together as a couple within the Torpedo Ink series. The subject matter for all of the Torpedo Ink members has been difficult, and I think Savage's continues to be one of the hardest ones to date. I can't really understand Seychelle's acceptance of the life laid out for her by Savage, but I still enjoyed the hell out of reading it!

Where to start with the continuation of Savage and Seychelle...
Dark, Gritty, Intense, Rollercoaster of some really deep emotions.
We learn so much more in this story and yes it's very dark, but from previous books, in this series, I already knew that. Each member is damaged goods with hearts of gold for those they love.
This author never fails to entertain with her writing, and her MC books are extremely entertaining for those of us who like a good dark, and intense romance.

Emotion, Emotion, Emotion! How do you do justice to a book you were not sure you could handle? How do you do justice to a book that you tried to skim the sadistic pages and realize there was so much communication going on between the two main characters that if you skim those sections like you normally do you will miss out on the emotional heart wrenching pain as they forge their relationship. Like most people who read this series, there have been plenty of warnings of the darkness, edginess, and this one takes it to a whole new level, but in so many ways. Beyond the physical darkness, the sadism relationship there is intense gut wrenching, heart wrenching emotion. I have never been fond of Savage, but I hurt for him, I cried for him, the self hatred, all that he takes on for his brothers and sisters. The strength to confront his Torpedo Ink leader. His sharing all the things he did to fix his *brokenness* . His hidden laid back sense of humor, respect and love for the Red Hat Ladies. I am the least compatible person with this man, I would probably be considered a prude, but I still heard this man, I wanted to grant him peace. Seycehlle has strength and determination and when she really says red knowingly, I cried with her. Her love for the Red Hat Ladies, her love and strength to accept and work with Savage blow me away. Most importantly her love for herself and her willingness to stand up, you go girl, I am proud of you. I will say I wanted to smack some other members of Torpedo Ink, you know wjo you are, SMH. I am glad I took the chance to read this, I am not thrilled that I still think of the pain and torment Savage goes through, but it just goes to speak of the talent Christine Feehan has. Thank you Berkley, Netgalley and Christine Feehan for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. IF some of my verbiage seems g rated its because Barnes and Noble refuses reviews with certain terms, argh.

I used to be a huge fan of Christine Feehan's Dark series, but when I took a break from reading a number of years ago for a short bit, I somehow didn't go back to her books after. This is the first of hers that I've read in a while, and the first of the Torpedo Ink books that I've read. Jumping into this one, you have an established couple, Savage and Seychelle, who are going through some issues within their relationship. Seychelle feels that Savage is not treating her as a full partner should - Savage wants her to share everything with him, but doesn't want to unload his own burdens with her. As a result she is also uneasy with his club since she is being expected to help them out but is also being kept out of the loop on information. However, Savage really undergoes a lot to try and find compromise and a way for them to have their relationship really work for both of them.

I loved this, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was steamy, spicy and had way more of all of that than I remember her books having before and I loved that. I was definitely able to follow along with this, despite there being references to characters and situations from previous books. I wasn't lost, but it does have me intrigued and wanting to start with this series from the beginning. When I did a closer look into this series, I discovered that this was actually the second book for this couple and the previous release in the series covers their meeting and the start of their relationship. Definitely plan to read that one next. The only thing I would like to have seen was a little bit more of an ownership by some of the club members for lack of trust in Seychelle as a partner for Savage. It would have been nice to have seen an on page closure between a few of the members and her, but other than that I loved everything about this one and highly recommend it!

2.5 Hearts This story was just too intense for me. It is so dark that it is hard to read and for the first time I wish I had not read a Christine Feehan book. This is the second in the story of Savage and Seychelle. Savage is a broken soul and has lived through more than anyone should. And I thought the first book about him was difficult to read but this one is so much worse.

There were times I just had to skip over parts because it was difficult for my heart to take in.

The preface from Feehan explains why she wrote this story and even said it could be too much for her readers and she would be sure to continue with the series without the reader feeling like they missed something if the reader chose not to read this book. And I truly appreciate her honesty and I wish I had taken her up on it.

SAVAGE ROAD is the second book by author Christine Feehan that features Savage and Seychelle and continues their story. If readers thought ANNIHILATION ROAD (the first book) was dark they must be warned that SAVAGE ROAD is much darker.

Savage Road is book seven in Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series and concludes Savage and Seychelle’s story from the previous book Annihilation Road. I have mixed feelings on this book for a few reasons. I generally love Christine Feehan and can handle her gritty, raw, could be triggering plot lines in this series so it wasn’t that part that left me unsettled. I think it was the length, these two really could have found their HEA in one book and avoided some repetitious parts.

Quick Recap:
In Annihilation Road, Savage and Seychelle fall in love, in Savage Road they are actually in their relationship, how to make his sadistic nature work with her healing/ giving personality and how to navigate the club dynamic.

I enjoyed the darker aspects and BDSM of Savage Road. The author definitely did her research in the mental and emotional aspects of how Savage’s childhood shaped these needs in his personality and how Seychelle would have to work to accept them.
The way that Seychelle and Savage work together to determine who has put hits out on the Torpedo Ink members and other clubs made them closer, pushing him to bring her into the club dynamics and him to trust her. This book humanized Savage in ways that the previous book didn’t, by exploring his relationship with The Red Hat ladies, delving deeper into how being an assassin for the club was grating on him and his level of commitment, care, concern for Seychelle when she overdid it psychically or when he was too rough with her.

The couple from a previous series, Lissa and Casimir, were great, I love a crossover. I enjoyed the other MC members too (especially Alena and Destroyer).

While I understand why the author broke their story into two books, I really wish it was one book with a shorter timeline. I know that communication is key to the relationship they were creating but it’s PNR, they have psychic abilities, there is already a level of reality suspension so I could have believed if they got closer quicker. That would have avoided what I felt like were some repetitive arguments they kept having about the MC being more important than her or his feelings of not being good enough for her. This book specifically was slow for the first half then more of the motorcycle club enemies came into play so it picked up.
I struggled with the family trees in this book as well. There are a lot of side characters- The Red Hat Ladies, the other motorcycle clubs, a stalker, a Russian woman, a guy who uses his voice for evil- so I had to finally make a diagram to see how they all worked into the book.

Overall there is definitely content warnings to pay attention to but if they don’t bother you I would recommend Savage Road as well as Torpedo Ink as a series. It’s gritty, raw, dark, edgy but deliciously sexy, entertaining and never boring reads.

*I received an e-arc from Berkely Publishing Group and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

CW: This book contains child abuse (sexual, emotional, physical), BDSM, sadism, violence, beatings.

2.5 STARS

This book is the second half of Savin “Savage” Pajari and Seychelle Dubois’s story; the first part is told in ANNIHILATION ROAD. Savin met Seychelle when she nearly sacrificed herself to save him being hit by a car while he was trying to protect a young child. Ever since this seemingly disparate couple met, they have been in an intense and often difficult relationship. Several missteps from Savage nearly broke them apart beyond repair. After months together, their connection grows while being under a lot outside pressure from other motorcycle clubs as well as known and unknown enemies.

Of all the Torpedo Ink MC family, Savage is perhaps the most damaged and that is saying something with this group. He is also the main assassin with an ability to draw pain and anger away from his brothers and sisters through psychic gifts. The torture and grooming Savage experienced the first twenty years of his life is beyond horrifying so that Savage’s bedroom proclivities are brutal, sadistic, and almost unrealistically demanding. For the first time in his life, Savage understands and feels love which is something he thought himself incapable of with women. They were there to be used and abused because of his deeply damaged, very dark soul. Seychelle changed much of that for him; however, Savage only feels pleasure by putting his woman in pain. He has made an art form of whips and all manner of BDSM paraphernalia.

Seychelle’s psychic gifts include a voice that soothes injured spirits and physically heals those with illness to her own detriment. She can also can see images in other people’s heads and since Savage has a lot of horrific ones, this presents a real problem for their relationship. Her attraction to Savage’s type of pain and pleasure training seems in opposition to her nature making Seychelle very uncomfortable. Savage and Seychelle must travel a difficult and treacherous road in order to have a lasting relationship of any kind. Savage knows what he needs is most likely more than Seychelle can tolerate, but losing her will be the end of him.

Ms. Feehan prefaces this book with warnings and an explanation why these two books explore what happens to young children who are sexually abused especially ones that are victims of trafficking and pedophiles. Many areas of this book are very dark and explicit so readers of the series may not want to go beyond the first book of Savage’s story. She has also stated anyone who does not want to read these two books will not miss out on any essential information for the Torpedo Ink series. For this reader, I think the story would have been better if Seychelle’s abilities were used to heal Savage’s mind and what he calls his internal monster. I understand the author’s stated goals; however, this story veers in to a territory that I am not sure serves the best interest of her readers.

I’m a huge Christine Feehan Fan!! I’ve been reading her books for 20 years. That being said I’m not a fan of Sexual Sadism. It’s just not my thing.

I really did enjoy the first book better than I did this one.

Savage and Seychelle both had to learn to trust each other. There was a lot of push and pull between them. He had to learn to put her first above all else.

“Finding a way that allows you to see and love the real me so that you want to stay with me. That’s the dream for me, Seychelle. The real man. The monster and the man.”

Much darker than previous books in this series so BE WARNED!!

Even with all the kinky quirks I do love this series and look forward to each new installment. Lots of loose ends. Destroyer and Alena so need to end up together. Just Sayin!!

There is a reason I love Christine Feehan and Savage Road is an exemplary example of why.

I will give a cautionary note for those of you who are not comfortable with some kink in their romance, there is a lot of exploration into one area of this arena. Now when I say exploration, I do not mean many different forms. I am addressing the communication which goes on between the two partners that Feehan deftly navigates and has our characters engage in. I love this part of the kink as this is not emphasized enough in other books. If some floggings are not something you want to read, then this story is not for you. Now, you can skip those parts and read the fabulous story that Feehan gives us which is what I recommend (chuckle).

I love Savage and Seychelle. Christine Feehan gives us a couple who are determined to not run at the first sign of trouble in their relationship. Communication is key and I love it. If you want to know what happens after the “happily-ever-after”, then read Savage Road because Feehan makes the dream continue.
The drama surrounding the club continues as the group tries to figure out why they have been under attack by different factions. Seychelle is part of the key in unlocking the mystery and its good. This is where the paranormal aspect of the story comes in, but Feehan does not delve deep into this area. The author focuses on the family core of the group and how they navigate forward as a group.

I have to say that I love being in Sea Haven again and getting glimpses into how other characters from Feehan’s stories are and how they are still happy if they have some frogs in their car.

Feehan includes resources for those who have been traumatized in the back of the book. Make note of it in case you come across someone who is a survivor or know someone who needs help.

Savage Road is the romance you want to read to know that “happily-ever-afters” can be forever.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

First Impressions
Savage Road is the second part of the duo of this pairing and I will admit that I was highly nervous heading into this one, I am not sure why, because rarely does Christine Feehan actually let me down, however, I will say I took too long reading this one. I have had access to this ARC for a while, but I think I knew I wanted to go into this one with the right frame of mind and a certain mood because this does deal with some more complicated issues. But I can reassure you that this story is definitely worth it because it completely blew my mind away. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but after the first book “Annihilation Road” with this pair, I wasn’t sure how this author could beat that one, but Feehan definitely shows the true core of her talent with this one. I greatly appreciated the manner by which this author did her research and its evident within the story how well she handled these certain scenes that other authors would struggle with. While the scenes were hot and intense, there was also so much heart packed within this one story that won me over completely.

The Summary
Savage Road starts off with Savage and Seychelle learning to adapt to each other’s needs, and it’s not an easy transition. Savage is hard and rough around the edges, but his devotion to Seychelle is complete, except for one factor that could prove to be more of a challenge than either of them are ready for …..his loyalty and bond to his club. Savage is a brother first and foremost, and they are his family, but Seychelle is his heart but they seem to be clashing against each other, and Savage is not prepared for the challenges ahead for him & Seychelle. Seychelle is struggling with her new life with Savage, and she is coming to realize that a life with him, is going to be tough and more difficult than she initially had thought when she committed to him. She is struggling with facing the fact that she comes second to the club, and when tensions clash between Seychelle and some of the members of the club, Seychelle is wondering if she has a place in Savage’s life. But Savage is a fighter and doesn’t go down without a fight. Savage is not willing to give up on his girl so easily, but their plot thickens when there is more at work than meets the eye, and both Savage and Seychelle will have to learn to trust in one another fully, before securing the safety of those they love the most….

What I Liked
There is SO much that I LOVED about this book and I what a whirl of adventure, angst, and sexual tension that so worked for me in every way. Christine Feehan has definitely upped her game with Savage Road. There was so much depth to this story and what a page-turner. Of course, Feehan will almost always do that for me, but considering the length of this story, I was highly impressed with this one here. I really felt for both Savage and Seychelle as they maneuver their way through this relationship and the landmines that have to overcome. Savage is a hero that is alpha, a sadist, and likes control, but he does learn flexibility here. Seychelle is independent but not in an overly feminist way, but more genuine and relatable but she struggles with the club and does not feel a part of them, she feels like an outsider and it starts to threaten the bond she has with Savage. As you read through this one, you can see both sides of the issue and you wonder how on earth are they going to resolve this. But they do and its done in a way that is so flawless. Then we have the sex scenes with this one and I knew it would get intense but my goodness I have never known Feehan to write scenes like this before. This was a whole another level than what we have seen from her previously. You aren’t going to be ready for this one here. And I can confirm its definitely more intense than what we received from Annihilation Road, but seeing Seychelle be so giving and open-hearted with Savage and full of acceptance and love within these moments was so heart-achingly beautiful. We see the strength and power of their connection and its entrenched so deep within the vibrancy of their connection which showcases a beautiful romance that captures the heart so easily yet with such depths

Overall View
Savage Road is a romance that portrays the challenges that relationships represent but opens the eyes to the depths of love and the ability to overcome any hurdles come what may. It’s a tale that will tear the heart at times but will revitalize the emotion that shines like that of the noon-day sun. Savage and Seychelle’s story is guaranteed to capture the beautiful essence and power of love and its capabilities in such a tremendous manner…..come prepare for a book that will stun you into silence.

As much as I love Christine Feehan, this book was a bit too intense for me. We know Savage and his nature by now, and Feehan didn't pull her punches with his story. I know this story is going to mean a lot to some people. This book definitely isn't going to appeal to most people. The previous book, anniahlation road will be a better fit for most audiences.
The list of triggers is extensive, and included in the beginning of the book.

I have not read the previous book in this series following Savage and Seychelle. So while the author did do a good job of catching us up to some of the things that happened I did find myself a little lost at times, so I would definitely recommend reading that one first.

Seychelle is trying to come to terms with the man she is in love with. She knows that his club comes first, and that they do some dangerous things that could put him in danger. All she wants is to be an equal partner in their relationship. However Savage is worried that if she truley knew who he is, and what happened in his life to make him the way he is, that she will leave him.

Over the course of the story we get alot of Seychelle trying to make sure her and Savage can have a true partnership. He constantly wants to hide what he does for the Club, and uses that as an excuse.. Its Club business so it can't be discussed. This leaves Seychelle with the feeling that she will always come second.. and that when the club does let her come around its only so they can use her and her abilities. she can do different things with her voice, like keep people calm, along with some other abilities. Now both of them are trying to figure out how to make their relationship work. How to balance what they want and need from each other with what Savage needs to be to help the club..

The whole Torpedo Ink series is definitely darker and grittier than any of Christine Feehans other series that I have read. So if you like literal tortured heros finding love , and dont mind the constant.. im not sure if it would be considered BDSM or not. then you should check this series out. Most of them can be read as standalones but I would definitely read Annihilation Road first.

I love a dark read and Savage Road definitely checked off that box!

To say that this story drew me in is an understatement. For me I felt extreme sadness as to how the members of Torpedo Ink were raised up from children to become child assassins. Their pasts consumed me but I admire the way they have changed their lives to helping others and trying to overcome what they endured. I have loved each and every member that I’ve read in this series and it has become one of my favorites. I always look forward as to what Ms. Freehand can bring me in more of the Torpedo Ink series.

A wickedly decadent continuation of Savage and Seychelle's life together! With the seventh book in her always intriguing Torpedo Ink series Christine Feehan brings us the 2nd book revolving around Savage and his way of coping with life and all the ugliness it throws the club's way. I enjoy these two as a couple, but felt like this book was actually not necessarily needed to make them feel complete. There was a slight healing of the rift between her and his club, but most of the landscape was still devoted to his sadism instead of their relationship development. It was a good book, not a great one.

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys an emotionally vulnerable MC that takes on the world when needed, but feels the weight of it on their shoulders when all is said and done. They are a close-knit family with twisted pasts and kinky coping mechanisms.
