I received an electronic ARC from Berkley Publishing Group through NetGalley.
An intense read with potential triggering scenes. DO READ the author's notes and warnings before reading part two of Savage and Seychelle's story. I also recommend reading Annihilation Road first as this is the sequel and refers to events that occurred in the first book.
Readers return to Torpedo Ink's characters and see how Savage and Seychelle have continued to develop their relationship. No one hides the fact that Savage is a sadist and introduces Seychelle to this lifestyle. His reasons are valid and make sense in the storyline but it requires an open mind to read some of the scenes. The focus on trust is a huge portion of this story. Just as readers have seen in the past books in this series, the two main characters here have to have complete trust to function as a couple. The challenges involved in this are central to the storyline.
Unlike other books about Torpedo Ink, the focus on ending child abuse takes a back seat to a trip into their past to see how severe the actual abuse was for Savage and others in the group. Again, this could be triggering so be prepared to witness intense pain and torture. It's heartbreaking to see how he was molded into the person he is.
This is not my favorite of the series though I appreciate Foster's craftsmanship. This one filled in some gaps in the backstory and brought readers further into the club's world but did not have a main focus on their critical work to stop child abusers.

This is a continuation from Annihilation Road with Savage and Seychelle deepening their sexual relationship wrapping up some loose ends from the last book. It was a darker book than some of the others in this series.

Savage and Seychelle have decided to make a go at being together. But can day to day living survive their differing needs?
Savage Road by Christine Feehan is a continuation of Savage and Seychelle's story. I can honestly say that I would have been happy with how Ms. Feehan left them and us but I am so glad she gave us more. Savage and Seychelle's story needed more. Savage is training Seychelle to accept not only her needs but his as well. The clock is ticking and everyone knows it. Seychelle is struggling to accept her needs. She is fine accepting Savage's needs but only in a vacuum. The darkness she perceives as her desires are giving her fits. I love that it isn't Savage's needs but hers that give her trouble. I love that Savage supports her needs and helps her towards acceptance. Their journey isn't one sided. They need each other. They complement each other. Their journey isn't easy. It is full of unexpected twists, turns and thorns. Ms. Feehan didn't sugarcoat their difficulties. Savage struggles to trust that Seychelle really sees him. Even as Seychelle must learn to trust Savage and his family. I love that Ms. Feehan allowed us to see the struggle and missteps as Savage and Seychelle worked to blend their desires and needs. I love that Savage's family played a part in not only the struggles but also the successes between Savage and Seychelle. I loved seeing that his family is still learning what "normal" is.
This story improved my understanding of who Savage is and was. I loved him before but after this story I adore him. Ms. Feehan showed us the many layers that make up not only this complex man but also his family. I loved seeing him and Seychelle find a way to mesh their needs and desires. This story was emotional and felt so real and believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to Ms. Feehan's Torpedo Ink series and can't wait to see where she will take us next.

Savage Road continues where Annihilation Road left off, so if you haven't read that one yet, stop and do that!

I will admit I liked Savage more by the end of this book. In Savage Road, we see him actually support Seychelle. Because of his sexual needs, everything in book 1 felt like it was all about him. In this book, Savage starts to make decisions based on what is best for Seychelle. I really struggled with the dark sexual needs of Savage and understanding why Seychelle would accept that when he clearly brought NOTHING to the table for her. Savage Road bridges that gap a bit for me and I was able to look at the relationship more objectively.

There is more action in this book as well, which made it feel more like a Torpedo Ink book. There is trouble in the club, plenty of danger, and that keeps the plot moving. However, there is still LOT of sex to keep things hot. Overall, while I don't really understand this kink and wouldn't seek out books with it, I appreciated this love story. I did feel that Annihilation Road and Savage road could be skipped and it wouldn't impact the rest of the series. The club issues and such aren't the same as the ones that have been part of the story arc throughout the previous books, so if you want to skip these, you could. There is no movement on the trafficking, or other plot points from previous books.

"He might be rough and too controlling, but he would move the world for her, if she needed it moved."

Saying that I'm addicted to the Torpedo Ink series would be an understatement. It is the world where I discovered the amazing talent of Christine Feehan. There are so many things that I love about her style of writing. She draws you in and makes you feel something. She somehow brings her characters to life in a way that you feel like you are experiencing everything with them. This series, in particular, as the members of the club are survivors, is extremely graphic in a way that you feel their pain and their fury as they remember or tell others what happened to them.

Because of their shared past, their bond is unbreakable. They are family. As the series continues, the different members find love, and it doesn't come easy. They have good reason to be cautious about outsiders. They have up close and personal experience with betrayal. They've also said and done things to survive that make them question themselves. My heart breaks for all of them, and in Savage Road it's Savage that pulled my heart strings. "No one, no one could love a monster, least of all an angel. And that's what Seychelle is to him, his angel.

She has so much light, and he has so much darkness. He thinks he doesn't deserve her. He's afraid his demons are too much for her to handle. Will he be strong enough to let her try?

This series has so many moving parts. So much that keeps me coming back for more. There's club business as they deal with enemies and danger, working together to protect their family. They are beautifully broken bossy badasses which are my kryptonite. Who can resist all that yumminess? Let's not forget the kinky sexy times, plenty of those to keep you running the AC in winter. They each have unexplainable and very interesting gifts. And there is very entertaining banter that keeps me giggling in between. Here's one of my faves. "Stop saying fuck and angel in the same sentence, Savage," she whispered. "You're going to go to hell if you keep that up."

There is so much more to look forward to in coming installments. I can't wait! The line forms here...

I’ve read the whole Torpedo Ink series, and this is a great addition to it. This is just Savages and Seychelle’s story, you barely see the other characters which is actually nice that it focuses on the two of them. It’s goes more in-depth into their relationship. But a little warning it is more explicit and detailed but if your used to this series then it’s right on track. It’s a definite read for this series!!!

I went into this book a bit hesitant for a couple of reasons. First, I had just finished reading Annihilation Road (part 1 of Savage and Saychelle's story) and worried it might be just a repeat with more sex scenes. Second, I'm not a big fan of BDSM. I was pleasantly surprised on both counts.
Savage Road picks up right where Annihilation Roads ends. So there is a sense that this really is a continuation of the story rather than a retelling or sequel. For the first part of the book, I really felt that Annihilation Road could have just been extended without having a second book. This would have worked for other authors whose work regularly include BDSM, For Feehan, though, it was a good choice to separate the two stories. Even with the Torpedo Ink series being more raw and edgy, Savage Road went deep into Savage's sadist nature and the scenes grew in intensity. I respect that Feehan wanted to still give her readers Savage's story without them having to go through those scenes that may be triggering for some readers. She obviously researched extensively, and she managed to keep the scenes centered on the characters and their love and commitment to each other. There is a lot of discussion around consent and Savage emphasizes the need for Seychelle to recognize their limits and use their safe words. This cleared up my second hesitation with the BDSM.
While readers can read only Annihilation Road and not really miss anything important in regards to the Torpedo Ink story lines, Savage Road does tie up some loose ends with Brandon and the run Savage was worried about throughout much of Annihilation Road.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book and would recommend Savage Road along with Annihilation Road for readers who enjoy edgier romance.

Savage road is a continuation of Annihilation Road with Savage and Seychelle starting in it. Full disclosure, I read this book before Annihilation Road, and I don't recommend reading these two books out of order. The first few chapters I felt like I was missing some key important events. It felt as if I was dropped into the middle of a play and missed the entire first act. This is because I didn't read the prior book first. This should not be read as a standalone. Ms. Feehan does a great job of short recaps to bring the reader up to speed, but it isn't the same.

This is the book where it gets real. Savage isn't doing Seychelle dirty but his way of keeping things close to his vest have really done a number on Seychelle. I am solidly on Seychelle's side in this because many of the decisions Savage makes with his motorcycle club impact Seychelle in a negative manner. This is frustrating because we can see that Seychelle really wants to help but she is going in blind. In fact, she feels like a tool that is being used and then just tossed away. Not cool.

Amidst the strained developing relationship, Torpedo Ink is on the edge of warfare with larger motorcycle clubs. The instigators of this warfare are interesting once it is revealed. It is both sad and petty. With this hot mess of boys trying to show who's got the bigger one, Savage is trying to protect Seychelle from his needs. These needs are kinky and with Savage's messed up upbringing and sexual grooming, he's all twisted up inside. This is where Ms. Feehan brings on the BDSM sadism with whips and exquisite pain. I'm of two minds with this kink. First, I love reading BDSM and kink. I also am good with the sadistic pain through SM. However, this BDSM is right on the edge of not so great for many. Specifically, because Savage was groomed to be a sadistic by horrible pedophiles. Not sure I really want people to think this is why people get into kink. Because it isn't. Could I have done w/o the kink aspect to this story? Probably. Is the kink integral to the storyline? Kind of because of how Savage needs to release the rage and anger he takes on.

Overall, this is a grim and somber book filled with betrayal, miscommunications, pain, torture, and death. Fun! But seriously, there is romance and bonding between families and lovers. This isn't a fluff piece. It is dark, delicious and recommended from readers who enjoy the darker side to romance.

Typically I love Feehan's books, I have read all of her series. However, the Torpedo Ink series has been one of the roughest for me to enjoy. I get that all the characters have their kink and that's totes fine. As well as survivors their kinks has its own roots. As a survivor myself I truthfully can understand that perspective.

But where you lost me was in the depiction of a certain activity that shouldn't happen to childre being written as it most definitely should not be written - as too much pleasure.

In the past and in this series you look to help children in unwanted circumstances; however the way you wrote about the instances and labeled them as a pleasurable moment you are uplifting that behavior towards children rather than saying what it is - rape. I hope you will correct the verbage in this book - as a survivor I implore you. I am more worried that the wrong type of people will begin to read your books.

Unfortuanetly, with how triggering this book was to me - I had to stop and put it down many times. I am unsure if I will be able to finish it; I stopped at Chapter 5 (20.2%)

As a parent and adult I would not use the term pleasure on a prebusent child remembering their past.

Score 1/5 (prior to finishing the book)

*****Updated*****
I finished the book and as far as the storyplot - Feehan depicts a BDSM couple correctly. For that I do appreciate it as most authors do not take the time to get to know much and just throw kinks to the wind.

I did enjoy how our FL never lost her character she stayed firm in her ways unlike othertimes.

Score 4/5 (after finishing novel)

TW hero sexual sadist who consensually whips heroine, highly recommend checking out trigger warnings and author letters

SPOILER WARNINGS

Savage and Seychelle's story is beautiful, but at times I found it tough to read. It was interesting to read a story that has Savage and Czar bumping heads and challenging Savage's loyalty to the club. I liked how Seychelle keeps standing up for herself despite being in pain. She really opened the eyes of the club members and we learn a little more about Czar's gifts. Alena and Destroyer seem to be set up as a future story.

Overall a tough story, but interwoven in it are some beautiful elements and seeing Savage find a semblance of peace is wonderful.

4.5 Stars

Savin Pajari (Savage) and Seychelle Dubois apparently get together in Annihilation Road, which is the precursor to this book. This is actually its own story, but events are referenced throughout this book that must have happened in the prior volume. Having started this one without knowledge of the prior book (as it hasn’t been published yet), was slightly off-putting, but not enough to take away from the experience of reading this story. This is an intense story and not for the faint-hearted.

Like all of the characters in Torpedo Ink, Savage was brutalized and abused as a child in Russia. Because of these experiences, Savage is a sexual sadist; however, if it is possible to be a loving sexual sadist, then Savage fits this bill. Ms. Feehan walks a fine line between allowing readers to understand Savage’s deeply-seated needs and why he is the way he is, and explaining it in such a way that readers unfamiliar with the practice can actually empathize with his needs. Seychelle is his perfect counterpart in that she doesn’t meekly accept her role, but fights to be understood as well, and in the process helps the entire Torpedo Ink family to accept her and give her a huge measure of respect. As in all of the books of the Torpedo Ink series, there is an element of the paranormal present within this book. Seychelle and Savage have a strong connection and can nearly read each other’s minds. In fact, Seychelle picks up images of actual events and thoughts directly from Savage’s mind several times throughout the book.

This story is somewhat different from the other books in this series, but it is compelling in its own way. The brotherhood and supportive ‘family’ atmosphere is present and serves as the foundation for everything else that occurs. Savage is accepted exactly as he is, even if many people would be unable to accept his sexual proclivities. There is a low-level tension present in this book that escalates as readers get deeper into the story. There is death and destruction as well, but all for a good cause. This is not a clear case of right versus wrong; Feehan helps readers accept that sometimes there is a grey area in the midst of some terrible evil. On the surface, the grey area may be wrong, but without the grey area, the evil would be much worse.

On the whole, this is an intense, yet thought-provoking book that may cause a few minds to open up about certain things. Now this reader has to figure out how to get a copy of Annihilation Road, so this story will be complete!

Another in Feehan's series exploring sexual kinks involving member of a motorcycle club doing good breaking up child trafficing rings and their "old ladies".

Feehan' s series is more graphic sex with all kinds of twists and kinks. I paged through some long graphic descriptions of sadistic sex that just wasn't for me. The descriptions of child sexual abuse are disturbing. This book is for those readers who are ready for an adventure. Unsuspecting readers of her vampire series who happen on this should expect something more raw and graphic.
