This has potential because currently the trope that is popular is this magical fantasy world and I really enjoyed this manga so much that if there is another book, i will be reading it

I loved the art style and it just served to further enhance the story. A wonderful cast of characters and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

It is a pretty standard dungioneering manga with a lot of fights, a lot of monsters, and the hero getting beat up a lot, but the character design is nice (feels very CLAMP-inspired) and Yuri is adorable.

This manga follows a boy who is in the appraiser class - in this world everyone is assigned a class when they are born and there’s no changing it. Appraisers are a low class and Ein is mistreated by those above him - but then when he’s left for dead he discovers something that might be able to make him more powerful.

This was a relatively enjoyable read and there were parts of it that were fun, but I wished that there has been a bit more character development for the character Yuri. It seemed like she was there just to like the main character and help him, though maybe that will change in future volumes. Also, at the very end there was a comment from the author about how he really liked her huge chest and that really struck me the wrong way. It was a fun enough read but I don’t know that I will continue in the series.

This fantasy story follows a young man who, per the title, has been given the worthless 'appraiser' class. Usually the lackey of stronger warriors and higher ranked heroes, our main character finds him sacrificed by them during a surprise dungeon raid-- only to fall to depths and charm the sacred guardian tree hidden within, granting him a special power that may help him rise to the top.

I enjoyed the art style but, at the risk of this being an unhelpful review, I couldn't find any reason to either like or dislike it. There wasn't anything super special about it, but it wasn't the worst either. I liked the character design, but nothing jumped out about it that made me really want to continue.

I tend to stay away from manga with a male protagonist, but this one was better than most with the characters being less fixated on teenage male nonsense. (Boobs and innuendo)
Ein has a good heart and Yuri is sweet, though she needs a bit more character development.

This wasn’t really for me but I think this will be popular with manga fans who enjoy stories with fighting in them like Dragon Ball Z. The artwork is good though.

Adding my latest manga read to the list of novels with insanely long titles: Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest Vol. 1. This quirky title and cover were enough to make me curious about the world – and the impossibly strong hero.

Ein was born into a world where everyone is divided into different classes and cannot be changed. He was born an appraiser, which is is one of the lowest rungs available. It is far below his dream of being a hero.

Yet it is because of his abilities, Ein finds himself in a unique opportunity to gain power. Well, his abilities and his compassion. These two traits have set him on a path for something more; the question is, what will he do with it?

Not only does this series seem to promise a humorous plot, but also a rags to hero sort of tale. So, naturally, I went into Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest Vol. 1 with fairly high hopes.

Honestly, I almost feel like I should withhold commenting until I've read the second or possibly even third volume. It feels like most of Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest Vol. 1 is focused on setting up the character, his story, and how he gained his power.

I can't honestly say how the story will move forward from here. I'd like to think that Ein will become the hero he dreamed of. I can't imagine he'll do any worse than the two he was following around. But power can do weird things to people, so who knows?

I will say that there is a significant leap in power for Ein's character. Since the volume spends almost the entire time setting this up, it isn't exactly a sudden change. But it is significant. I honestly would have expected this sort of increase to happen throughout many volumes, so again, I'm not sure where it will lead from here.

All things said and done; I would say that Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest Vol. 1 was an interesting and entertaining read. It wasn't my favorite introduction to the series, but then again, some of my favorites took a while to grow on me.

First and foremost, I'd like to express my gratitude to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for providing me with an e-ARC of this manga.
I was reminded of The Girl, The Shovel, and the Evil Eye Vol. 1 by this manga. The conception of the world, the citizens' ranking, and the power that each rank possesses. Aside from that, I like the main character's growth by the end of the manga. The way he fought back in force.

This was quite a nice read. As you might guess from this super long title, this manga is based on a light novel, which I kind of want to read now. The art is cute, especially when it comes to Yuri.
Now, this first volume is very much an introduction as to how this appraiser character, Ein, came to become the strongest. It was intense and grabbing. I wonder what will happen next. I found the Ein’s evolution to happen quite quickly, sometimes I was wondering where the effort was, but let’s not forget it takes place over a month or so. Ein is quite funny and I loved Yuri and her mum.
I recommend to people who enjoy shonen that is action-packed

This is your manga where your class is already predetermined since birth. Our protagonist is in the Appraiser class which is a weak one. Due to certain events, he went OP.

Now a character, Yuri, was a bit sexualized in this manga (like most manga of this type does). It's not implicated heavily though compared to others but relying on something like this to entice readers will just have negative views on it.

This is still an enjoyable manga (but I did like the first few chapters more compared to the latter). If you like fantasy and a cute female character, this is for you.

Such a good manga, I absolutely loved reading it and can't wait for more in this series. In the world Ein was born into he was immediately declared useless. He is considered useless because the moment you are born the goddess of light and dark grant you a class and a skill and unfortunately Ein was born an Appraiser which is the considered the lowest of the low. But when his comrades abandon him to save themselves within the dungeon they're working in, Ein is greatly injured in but his life is saved when he finds a magical tree that saves his life and heals him. But when his simple act of kindness by thanking the tree moves the trees spirit Ein finds himself with new powers that might just bring him up in the world...

I really enjoyed this story and character dynamic. The story itself isn’t completely original. I’m getting Arifureta vibes with the MC being extremely overpowered and being able to take abilities from defeated enemies. Plus a pinch of Mushoku Tensei with the OP eye transplant. Volume one shows the fall and rise of our protagonist Ein who was born an appraiser. In this world that is a basic class and people with it are often looked down upon by those with more useful beneficial classes such as warrior or mage. Ein isn’t letting that keep him down as he strikes it out on his own to make a name for himself as an adventurer. Trash Picker wasn’t the notorious title he was after but everyone has to start somewhere. Betrayal and a near death experience lands Ein at the roots of a magical tree that saves his life. With the help of this trees spirit Yuri and it’s guardian Ursula Ein is provided with the support and knowledge to become stronger so he can return to his normal life, but after this experience will his life ever be “normal”? Let’s keep reading to find out. I look forward to the next volume and plan on continuing to read this series as it releases.

Omg, I just finished it and I loved it!

"Even given the worthless "appraiser" Class, I'm actually the strongest" follow a young lad at the end of the social food chain. When abandoned by his team and left for dead, he discovers one of the rarest items in the world and ends up being taught magic by a sage (a very sadist one mind you).

That manga is definitely not intended for the faint of heart as there are a lot of gory scenes. However, the mangaka managed to make it funny, with the presence of the sage. Yuri is the cutest. This first volume is a good training montage and an amazing introduction to the characters and the world they live in.

I cannot wait to read the second volume as the first book left us on quite the cliffhanger.

All in all, I've rated that book 4/5 stars. As while I found it very entertaining, not much happens besides the training.

Class, I'm Actually the Strongest is a manga featuring an OP hero in a world where class determines your power, and you can't escape nor change it.

This is just the first volume, but I gotta say I'm really impressed! I've always been into the Overpowered-main-character trope (eg. One Punch Man), and I enjoyed this one just as much.

For the next volumes, here's what I'm expecting:
1. More discussion on classism
2. Let's meet more of the outside world! Politics! Adventure! Badass fight scenes!
3. If this isn't going for a war arc by the end, atleast I'm hoping it would focus more on slice-of-life themes rather than the romance.

I really hope this gets an anime adaptation, because it'd be great and it's what it deserves!

The summary of Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest Vol. 1 promises the reader an adventurous and heartwarming coming of 'power' story that all manga fans know and love. But the debut novel falls short of this promise and is mediocre and disappointing.

Written by Ibarakino, with art by Morohoshi Fuji and character design by Yu Hitaki, Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest Vol. 1 debuted this November. The general storyline seems quite interesting: in a world where people are assigned classes from birth, we follow Ein, whose Appraiser class is the lowest of the low. However, despite his lowly stature, he becomes a mighty hero that defies all the odds and saves the day. It's a familiar and well-loved storyline that we often see, and for a good reason. We all love to watch an underdog become the unique hero he was meant to be, and those who initially mistreated him get what they deserve.

But though this storyline seems to read the same, it's quite the opposite. Ein's ability isn't special, nor does he find a unique way to use it. His Appraiser ability allows him to discover monster levels and valuable parts, but that's the extent of it. Only after encountering Yuri, the spirit of the World Tree, and her guardian Ursula, do they give him special abilities instead. One of these adapts his Appraiser ability to be more powerful, thus giving him the advantage that makes him different.

I have issues with Ein's ability and his advantage for many reasons. Firstly, I have difficulty believing the Appraiser's ability isn't worthwhile. Ein can determine which monster parts can not only make the most money but can also make tools and weapons as well. How is that not a valuable skill? Suppose we've learned anything from other stories such as The Rising of the Shield Hero, recognizing the value of items. It's a huge advantage to know that kind of detail. Without Ein's ability, no one would quickly understand what to collect during adventuring. Even the manga explains that adventurers would otherwise have to take the whole corpse with them to have it valued with magical items. Ein's ability also seems like a great advantage to merchants as an excellent skill to have. But despite the unique value of the ability, it's written as low-class, and Ein is treated like trash.

Even overlooking these flaws in the ability system, I still expected Ein to discover somehow that he could use his ability to his advantage and become the hero the summary promised. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed when the "key to becoming a hero" was just Yuri and Ursula magically enhancing his ability. While he does earn it semi-noble, it was still disappointing to find that Ein only becomes memorable because of them rather than his determination or strength.

On top of this, he trains for weeks with this new ability. While I traditionally find a story worthwhile, Ein's training drags on for too long. The training is such a massive part of the book. I found myself scrolling through idly, just trying to see where the story picks up again. I had to scroll through 80 pages of just Ein training, with maybe five pages of helpful information about his new ability. When we finally finish the training and move forward with the story, the volume concludes, and we have to wait until the next one to see what happens.

However, the tedious training arc isn't the only problem with the writing. Character development is sorely lacking, with absolutely no background on Ein, Yuri, or Ursula that makes readers connect with them. I found myself not caring if Ein lived or died and completely confused about why Yuri or Ursula did. The violence within the story also seems a little unnecessary. Although it added to Ein's self-deprecation initially, it didn't need to be so heavy after he met the two women.

The only saving grace that this volume could have had would be excellent artwork. Unfortunately, even the artwork struggled to draw me in. While some scenes are well-drawn, and the characters are relatively detailed, there were many moments where I had no idea what was going on. Many pages and scenes are drawn with heavy lines and too much noise, making them incomprehensible and honestly pointless. In addition, I feel like the artist used Emilia from Re:Zero: Starting Life in Another World as a reference for the design of Yuri, and the similarity between them is off-putting and feels disingenuous.

Although I had high hopes for Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I'm Actually the Strongest. I was unfortunately left feeling disappointed. Despite this, I'm still eager to see if the second volume can raise the storyline from 'worthless' to 'worthwhile.' If only I could appraise the book beforehand.

They never get old, tale as old an as time and such.
I look forward to Ein's journey in becoming a hero.
The story was well executed and easy to keep up with.
I enjoyed the character design, very eye catching.

This is a fantasy title that is not isekai!

Ein has the worthless "Appraiser" job. He is really pitiful to read about as you see how he is treated like garbage by others. He ends up being betrayed.

Somehow he lives and finds himself given new life by a spirit and trained by her guardian.

I really liked this book. There were dark moments and comedic moments and some of the characters were over the top. I appreciated the ott moments the guardian had with Ein. They were hilarious.

If you are looking for pure fantasy and dungeons this first book is for you.

Given the title, I was expecting a more run of the mill reincarnated into another world story, but no! It's RPG-flavored this time! I found this title to be surprisingly sweet. Is the MC overpowered? Yes, but you see him work for it. for most of the book. He wasn't born lucky like some other heroes in this vain. He's basically an RPG NPC until his fate changes and he has more than 1 HP. Even after the powerups, he's still a kind goof, and he has a good relationship with his new companions. I'm curious to see where the series will go from here.
